Hey Andreamic, fredriklarsson41 and Smetana - just to let you know that I posted a reply to your difficulties here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 11#p129011

I thought I'd highlight that post in case it gets lost on the previous page of the thread.

Thanks, Archi. It's been a busy day, I'm going to try your method this evening, hopefully. I'll post how it goes.

What is going on?!
MKoivuFan wrote:archi... my question is if i use my current roster and mininal's roster atributes but using real birthdates it should have any problems with any entry drafts from 2007 to currently 2010 nhl entry draft correct? also it doesn't come up with error for draft history too?
That is because in the database the player's draft years are set as 2006. By changing the start date to 2011, the team rights have expired. This is a known issue and something we hope to fix in the Manimal v4.0 rosters. However, I am working on a quick fix patch to change all of the draft years to a later year so that you can change the start year without teams losing rights.

Let me know if you feel I haven't fully answered you.
thats kewl archi... just wasnt sure because if i made all wild prospects in my database and then use ur patch if it would work as the 2007-2010 drafts are shown in the draft part as them or not thats why i asked

If we go to 2007 instead of 2011 will it still lose the players rights or still own the players rights

I don't know how long rights last before they expire. You'll either have to find that out or just simply test it out in EHM.

I think they "last" a couple of years - like IRL. If a player is drafted in 2005, for example, then in 2011 u didnt give him a contract, then it's normal that you don't own him anymore. It's just a DB problem, you can all relax imho

Just to let you know that I've updated the post I made with the instructions (steps 13 - 16).

Btw, I won't be able to look at your results until next week. I'll be heading off to London tonight and then Stockholm tomorrow for the NHL games.

I've taken a look at Fredrik and Martin's AMT files and they're completely different to what I expected. It is clear that EHM loads into their computers' memory in a different way to others. So the offsets (or areas within the memory) which need to be patched are different. I've asked for copies of their ehm2007.exe files to see if I can replicate it on my computer. :-k

16) In the top left of the window it says that same address "007D11C0". To the right you will see a string of hex. It should read as follows:

[th]Address[/th][th]01[/th][th]02[/th][th]03[/th][th]04[/th][th]05[/th][th]06[/th]

005F08A2DB0700006A07

Do you get the same values as I've listed in this table?
Done this and got the same values as I believe I have a similar problem, sent you my .AMT file as well so I'll wait for your reply when your back.

Only difference is the address for me is the "007D11C0"

I've followed your instructions, Archi, and forwarded my .amt file to you. FYI, my table ends up matching what you described in #16 of your instructional post above.

Sorry that's my fault; the table I wrote should have said 007D11C0 and so your screenshot shows it correctly working.

Fredrik has kindly sent me a copy of his exe. It looks as though he is using the CD version of EHM (I'm waiting for Fredrik to confirm this). When I load his exe I get an error about the CD not being in the drive. Lucky for Fredrik I am now the proud owner of a CD version of EHM and so it might be possible for me to figure out a patch for the CD version. However I cannot promise to do this right now because there are so many other things I want to get done.

Andreamic seems to be using a very unusual version of the exe. The AMT file indicates that he's using 2007 v3.2.1. I've never heard of such a version. I've asked Andreamic to send me a copy of his exe to figure out what the heck is going on there.

Jan - from your AMT file, it looks as though your exe has the same offsets/values as I would have expected. I think you already mentioned that you're using the e-license version and so there really ought not to be a problem... Try enabling 'Run this program as Admin' for the ehm2007.exe file (Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility) and then loading the patch with admin mode. If that doesn't work then try disabling 'Run this program as Admin' for the ehm2007.exe file and then load the patch still with admin mode. Strangely, Nikki Nine couldn't get the patch to work when the 'Run this program as Admin' option was enabled but it worked when it was disabled.

Another thing to try is to install EHM in a folder outside of the Program Files folder - e.g. directly into a new folder on the C:\ or D:\ etc.

Also, try disabling any anti-virus software you might be running.

Quack - At the moment, all I can suggest is trying what I've suggested to Jan above.

Well, I've spent the past hour running this through its paces, trying everything you've suggested. No success. I'm at a true loss as to why I can't get this to work...

I tried the patch for the first time now, and I have the same issue as Fredrik do as I too have the CD version of the game. Is there no (legal) way to get around this? Do my CD version license work if I get the download version?

Yeah I'm pretty much at a loss too. ](*,) Could you email your ehm2007.exe file to me and I'll see if it works on my machine. If it does then it suggests there is something specific about your system that is the cause of the issue.

I have been given a copy of the CD version of the game and so I should be able to make a CD version of the patch. I can't do it quite yet though as I want to have the current patch fully working before starting work on a CD version. I promise I will create a CD version however.

Your CD license won't work with the download version. Also, the patch does not work with the cracked version (and I don't intend on supporting this version).

I own only the CD-version of the game - bought it through the website of the swedish club Djurgaarden.

Here's to hoping you get it to work with that version to :notworthy:

Whoa - Djurgården sold the game via it's own shop??

*rant* Couldn't the NHL teams do the same (especially since the game was called NHL EHM)?? They'd have had better sales figures and we might well have had further versions! *end of ranting*

SI didn't print CDs and moved solely to digital download in order to keep costs down. The only reason a small number of CDs were sold in Sweden was because it was a condition of the league licensing with the Swedish league.

Yeah, I was aware of the digital copy-only policies. But... what would have it been for NHL teams to have a link to said digital copy in their online stores? That was more the point of the rant.

If I go back in time, will it over write the league histories? I noticed I started up a game for 1950 and it still had the 05/06 data for cups and awards. I can test it if no one knows, but figured I'd ask first

It seems that some things require some "special efforts" to edit - Check out the thread "Tutorials for hexediting EHM" in the Editing & Game Add-Ons Forum, where you'll find the wisdom of Hobbit 13 (Marek) on how to edit things like retired numbers and league history (I haven't tried to do so yet, but with the 1974 db I intend to attempt to edit retired numbers/league history)
