Game crashes on 9.11.2027 - StackHash_e2bf error

Hi

My Game Crashes always an 9.11.2027 if i read a Message from that Day. If i Dont read a Message, the Game continuous. I use the 3.0.4 Version from the 2007 Eastside Hockey Manager.

The Error is a "StackHash_e2bf"

Can someone Help me?

I take it that the StackHash error appears in a Program Error window.

It is possible that your game has been corrupt - this would be one reason why reading particular messages from that specific date causes a crash. It sounds like your best solution is to simply ignore those news items and continue playing - can you do this?

In order to reduce the risk of corruption, I would recommend changing the following settings (from the menu at the top of the screen in EHM, click Options -> Preferences):

Code: Select all

Save compressed: NO
Save safely: YES
Rolling saves: YES (not essential though)

The disadvantage with disabling the 'save compressed' option is that your saved files will be larger but it will reduce the risk of corruption.

Rolling saves isn't essential but it may provide you with a fall back if your game becomes corrupt. But this also means that you have something like four copies of your saved game. Thus it is going to depend on how much hard drive space you have.

There is mention of a fix for a StackHash error in Windows Vista / 7 but I very much doubt it will make a difference for your game:

The StackHash error happens any time DEP is found that there is an issue with the program run. The error is related to Data Execution Prevention. Here’s how 99 percent of Vista and Win7 users can fix a StackHash failure:

1. Click the run button and open the Control Panel
2. Browse to the section of System Maintenance then to the System
3. At the left side, select Advanced System Settings link
4. In the System Properties Window the top section is named as Performance with the Settings button. Click this button.
5. Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab.
6. Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
7. Use the Browse button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
8. Click Apply or OK to commit your changes.

Hi Archbalduk

I just continuous the Game an its running without any problems. My Savegames are large so i can use the Savegame Editor.

That was the first Problem ever with this Game.
