Of the prospects I tried to sign (note: not all of them), only Donne Astrom is able to be sent to the AHL when I sign him. (I've tested signing the best prospects, then found out I could only send one to the AHL, so I reverted my save.)
Donne Astrom is not 20, and has CHL rights, why would he be allowed to play in the AHL?

Does anyone have any insight as to why?
Is he European? Im guessing that he is. Players drafted out of Europe, even if they have CHL rights, are allowed to play in the AHL before they turn 20

He wasn't in Europe when I drafted him. I have to double check, but he's eligible for AHL, ECHL and Juniors.
What roster set are you using? Are you using the CSD Patch?
There are known issues with the most recent Manimal rosters/CSD Patch due to "Date Joined Club" and Player History not being updated that might affect eligibility (many in the community are working with Archi to fix these issues ASAP)

Maybe that's it. I'm using the Manimal rosters, and it's past Feb 1st of the first season, but I was using the CSD patch.
Is there another way to find out if it's a roster issue or another issue?

Hmmmm.....the screenshots (of the 4 players) all show the contract start date as 2014 - if you used the CSD Patch, wouldn't you start in 2011? So past Feb 1st of the first season would be 2012? But you're in 2014?

And therefore in the first season shouldn't the contract start date be 2011? Maybe you accidently selected 2014 as your starting year? If so, that would explain the junior eligibility issues...
Nono. I started with 2011, now I'm in 2014 (aka played the game for 3 years)

Ah....I see; if you've been playing 3 years then I wouldn't think it's a roster issue......I'm afraid I have no idea

Has Donne Astrom played in the CHL?
If he was playing in Europe, then I think Firebird's answered your question
IIRC, I've heard about this before. It seems lika a bug in the game that players sometimes become ahl-eligible. I have not looked into it very much so I can't say for certainty

Date joined club would not matter for that if you are in the first season.
Does he still have rights with a WHL team?
