EHM 2007 crashes on a certain date with the CSD Patch

My game keeps crashing between June 29 and 30 of my very first season. On June 28 it goes through the "Game Data Update" fine, but once the 29th roles around and I click "Continue" I am prompted with another "Game Data Update". It is then that a box pops up and tells me "ehm2007.exe" has stopped working and has to be closed.

I started this season brand new with Manimal v4.2 with the CSD Patch applied, starting at the beginning of the 2011-12 season.

I really don't know what to do, but I still have my order ID # available, so I can uninstall and unlicense if need be.

Hey, desperate for help here.

After the first season with NYI in NHL the game crashes. First i get an error, it says something like.. 3.0.4 russian_super.cpp and 3.0.4 fin_suomi.cpp and then i just click OK. But when i press continue to move forward the game crashes.

When I started the game i used CSD-patch and set the year to 2012 (Used Manimal 5.0 rosters).

Everything worked fine until now, can you guys please help me, have a really fun save going on and it would be a shame if I couldn't continue with it.

I guess you didn't use the CSD patch in the correct way. I simmed through the third season without any problem of any kind.

Seems like it, but is it possible to fix it?

Do I have to start the game with the CSD-patch EVERY time I reload the game during the first season?
Lets say I forgot to start the game with the CSD-patch in the middle of the season.. If i then start the game later with the patch and pass the June 30th, will that make it crash anyway because I forgot to use the patch at one time?

And I have one more problem, the CPU teams in NHL (maybe in other leagues aswell) don't re-sign their players. All players with outgoing contracts will be Free Agents after the first season. Among them are Jonathan Quick and more really good players, I'm pretty sure LA would like to re-sign him!

If you missed using the patch even once your game is hooped unless you have a save from before the cutoff date(Feb 1) It gives 3 rules right on the patch in bolded letters!
use this patch when you want to start a new game or reload a game where you have not simmed beyond:
1July at end of season 1 (Russia/Finland)
1February of season 1 ( all other leagues)
DO NOT use the patch if reloading game after July 1
I'm not to the end of season 1 yet so I will see what goes on with the UFA's. Sorry about the game for you but you gotta read the instructs

p.s. what I do when I start a new game is move the patch shortcut on my desktop right out into the open so I can't miss it when I load a game. When I am past Feb 1 I put the shortcut back in it's place and then I know I don't need it without thinking too much.

darn, that sucks..

Well I started a new game and will simulate to the exact same date to see if the CPU still release all players with outgoing contracts.That is a major problem if it happens all the time!

My 2007 game keeps crashing on March 25th. I've tried to sim past it on vacation, play the game, sim normal. Nothing seems to work. I also resaved it under a new name. When I started my game, I used the CSD patch because I am using Manimal's lastest roster update. If anybody knows how to fix this that would be great!

It is because you haven't loaded the CSD Patch each time you reloaded your saved game. Please take a look at the first post in his thread: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 117&t=9256 - This explains for how long you should continue using the Patch when reloading saved games.

It gets confusing when you edit your first post by completely removing your previous post. First you said 28th Feb and now you're saying 25th March. How come you're now 26 days further into the game? What have you done differently? Is this the same saved game or a new game?

The cause of the crash is that the CSD Patch was not applied on one occasion when you reloaded the game. Even forgetting the Patch once can cause the saved game to be irreparably damaged. I'm going to merge this thread into another thread as we have multiple threads on the same issue.

I got past the 28th date issue. But the way I think I got past is not loading it with the CSD Patch $:\$ . I just started up a new game. I'll make sure I use the CSD patch now!

For example if im using the CSD patch and i have selected all leagues as Enhanced but i use a team from the Great Britain ELITE league, when do i have to use the CSD patch and when do i have to stop using it?

It doesn't matter which league you're coaching it. What matters is what leagues you have loaded on Selected/Enhanced. If you have Russia and/or Finland loaded, you need to keep using the patch until 1 July of season 1. If you're ever unsure, check the bold text on the CSD Patch window - it provides a useful reminder.

Please note that you must use CSD Patch v1.4 (or higher) if you want to play with a 2013/14 start date.

Patches earlier than v1.4 will crash on 14 February 2014 if you try to use it to start with a 2013/14 start date (you will get a 'v3.0.4 comp_stats.cpp 1752' error). This is because 2013/14 is the first time since releasing the Patch where the Olympics have taken place in the first season (hence why the issue hasn't been encountered with previous start dates).

I'm at my wits' end here.

I'm attempting to use the CSD patch, but some part of it is not working. No matter how I load it with EHM, the year doesn't change. However, it IS doing something because the game crashes anyway on Oct. 1. (If I run the game without the patch, it runs normally, at least beyond Oct. 1, so what it's doing I don't know.)

I've gone over every instruction to the letter. I'm using 3.0.4. I've tried both 1.4 and 1.5 of the patch. Everything has administrator privileges. I've installed all the recommended files along with it. NOTHING MAKES IT WORK.

The funny thing is earlier this year the patch actually did work, but my hard drive failed and I had to install everything over again. I don't know what, if anything, I'm doing wrong this time around.

Incidentally, I've had slightly more progress with the ArtMoney method (it loads the correct start date), but it too crashes on Oct. 1.

Note: I'm not saving and reloading any games, I'm trying to sim thru Oct. 1 right out of the gate and it still botches.

Is there anything I can do to help you figure out what the problem is? Any files I can show you?

As I was reading the first couple of paragraphs of your post I was thinking the solution would be to use the ArtMoney method, but it's clear you've already tried that. I've never been able to figure out why a small number of users can't get the patch to work correctly and why ArtMoney works instead. There has to be something about the system's environment that is causing the issue. Regardless of your lack of success so far, I'm thinking the ArtMoney method is the way to go for you. If the Patch isn't changing the start date correctly then I'd avoid using it and rely on ArtMoney instead.

The 1 October crash you're encountering is very surprising given that 1) the ArtMoney method is changing your date okay and 2) you're trying to sim past 1 Oct immediately on starting the game (as I think you probably already know, usually the cause of the crash is when users forget to apply the patch when reloading). The 1 October crash relates to the IIHF U-20 Championships.

I'm not sure what to suggest with this issue because what you've described should work. You're using ArtMoney, you're simming immediately after loading, you're using admin privileges and you're using v3.0.4. That ticks all of the boxes in terms of diagnosing issues. I don't know if this will ultimately lead to a solution, but could you tell me the following please:

1) What DB are you using? Have you made any modifications at all? Could you try using an alternative DB (if you're using the current version of the TBL Rosters then try using a previous version e.g. v5.1).

2) Have you made any modifications to your exe or are you trying to use the League Rules Super Patch?

3) What start year are you using? If you're using 2013, try using 2012.

4) When you apply ArtMoney and your EHM game has been created, could you post a screenshot of the list of offsets and values displayed in ArtMoney's window?

1) For testing purposes, I'm using the vanilla DB.
2) I have not made any modifications aside from the 3.0.4 patch.
3) I originally tried 2021, but have also tried 2013. 2012 doesn't work either.

Sorry, I saw your message the other day and had meant to respond at a later point - but forgot because it was no longer flagged as unread.

Try this:

1) Follow the usual ArtMoney method.
2) Before you click on OK on the League Select Screen (i.e. the point just before EHM starts creating the game): Load the CSD Patch and click on the Apply Patch Only button.
3) Click on OK on the League Select Screen to start creating your game. Then try simming through to October.
