Not really. Sometimes, though, you get a crash, then you change the priority and it works. Theoretically, it is used to check whether game should have the priority in case of eg games on the same arena. But as you said it seems fairly random
I'm waiting for you on skype btw.

Alas, no progress (tried a number of things without success)

Hopefully having a guideline/example for a Bye situation will help

EDIT - Well it's 4 hours later, I've tried again, but alas no success :dunno:
We spent thousands of hours about testing things so 4h is not much :** Please upload db. I will have a look.

Here's the database https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvTHo4MBaphkd1l_tTKSZ2XEiz8
Within the zipped file, in addition to the database, there's a word doc titled "error message" that has a screen shot of the most recent error message I was getting

Here's a saved game (using the above database) a couple days before the end of the NHL's first season https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvTHo4MBaphkeN1k5ej0RSY63EY

I was trying to use what shows for the Russian National Junior Hockey League in the EHM1 Editor as a guideline...

Hi Named...can you please do another database fix for me? :notworthy:
I'm trying to get the WHA (World Hockey Association) running as playable and I get a crash at startup; here's a link to the database https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvTHo4MBaphkeiS8jd9GHQaxMu0

I set up the WHA as a 12 team league, all teams in one conference/division (just one big group of 12)
Top 8 make the playoffs, 3 rounds of playoffs

To generate a schedule for my 12 team WHA, I adapted a 1969-70 NHL schedule

I ran an overnight test, started in 1974 and it was in 1979 when I checked on it this morning - and the 1975-76 NHL season wasn't played! I wonder if this is because there's only a starting NHL schedule (1974-75) and no Olympic year schedule...

I wonder if I can "turn off the Olympics" from an NHL perspective, or will I have to create an "alternative schedule" for Olympic use :dunno:

So I created/imported an alternative NHL schedule (with the Olympic break) but now I get an immediate crash when I try to start a game ](*,)

That's done in the EXTRA_CONFIG.CFG file, and it should already exist. I see the line in there for it in the 9.4 DB, including the arena name.

Code: Select all

"ARENA_MOVE" "Detroit Red Wings" "Joe Louis Arena" "Little Caesars Arena" 25 9 2017 19000 14500 20000 1

The DB can be found in "Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content" and you'll have to ID it by the timestamp of the download. You can then copy and paste the folder over to where your normal EHM DB content is. You'll find the config file in thee, then.

nino You dont have schedule dates for WHA in Stage 1 and Stage 2. Add them and in Stage 2 Structure: Stage to draw 1, Fate to draw 3 and it will work.

Thanks Named, I'll try that

Any idea what the problem is with the NHL not playing games in the Olympic year?
Not only in 1975-76 but I've now simmed forward further and the same thing happens in 1979-80

Well, I've added the regular season and playoff schedule dates (as shown in the screenshots below), but I still get a crash at startup.....and I have no idea what you mean when you say "Stage to draw 1, Fate to draw"

I could live without the WHA! A much bigger problem for me is the NHL not playing any games during Olympic years.....

27 teams next season. Metallurg Novokuznetsk goes to VHL. Medveščak goes to Austrian league.

I have done so, but the NHL is still not playing during Olympic years, so it seems to me it must be a setting somewhere that's not correct I guess.....

Another day spent trying to get the NHL to play in Olympic years without success ](*,)

And trying to get the WHA running too is also repetitive failures! HaHa

If I can get the NHL to play in Olympic years I'll get some retro databases out for the new EHM

I think I'm going to give up on the WHA (the fact you can't fold it/have teams join the NHL in 1979 limits the appeal of having it; with EHM07 I had to have the WHA in order to have the required 30 team NHL)......I'm already going through the WHA players in the database and determining where they'll go when I fold the WHA

The idea is for the NA top pro League there'll just be an 18 team NHL from 1974 forward....and a 21 team NHL for 1979 and the 1980s database - if/when I get the NHL to play in Olympic years!

2 things to check:

- NHL alternative schedule template you must add Divs in the same order as normal schedule template
- NHL Stages Structure - Stage 1, mark Has Alternative Dates and in Alt Dates below Schedule Dates add start and end dates from alternative schedule
