Which Addons are you using?

Post by ElQuapo »

Just curious as to which addons people are using in their games?

My current setup, playing as the Minnesota Wild is :

- All card packs from this site.
I am trying these out, and eventhough I have been very much anti-card and pro-mugshot, I have to admit that I am beginning to like the cards alot. They look really great and when players move around between teams, the cards don't get the same "incorrectness" as mugshots do IMHO.

- Frosted small logoes.
These also look very great. I have gone as far as deleting all small logoes from leagues where frosted versions are not available - as the standard small logoes look very bad in the game.

- Large logoes and background logoes.
Various extra large logoes I have found, at this site and at a finnish EHM site.
I currently have Finland, Britain, Benelux, UHL, AJHL, NCAA, Scandinavia and the ones standard in the game.

- Minstrels news trophies.
These are awesome :)

- NHL background pictures from TWolf.
These are also great. I especially like how they are "colorized" to match the teams colors.

- Unfaking database 2,0 beta.
I hate fake players, arenas, teams and leagues :(

- IceAge skin.
This also looks very nice.

Thanks to everyone who created these things.

What are other people using, and why?

Wahoo!!! I finally have an add on. I have figured it out. I was just testing so I did Devils88 NHL Cardpack A-D. Not only did I get it! But I found an issue. A real small one. Devils has Alexandre_Burrows (birthdate).JPG as did the game in its other version. However, Burrows name in the game is shortened to Alex...so the card was not showing. Changed the title of his card to Alex_Burrows and Bingo Bango Bon...wait its Burrows not Luongo. What am I so excited about. I now have a photo of a rat in my game. :-D /end of old man ranting about how good he is!

Thanks Arch

it is cool...but I am having some issues now. Not sure if it is me or the downloads, but I got the NHL through to O, and P-Z of Devils pack is now coming up as a Compressed (Zipped) Folder Error:

The compressed (zip) folder error is invalid or corrupted.

Since I am not tech inclined I am not sure:

1. If this is my computer issue.
2. IF it is a download issue.
3. IF this question has been asked/answered before in another area. I look, but understand little of the techie languages.

Sorry for the trouble..I PM'd you too.

EDITED: GOOD GRIEF This was my 900th post. Should have saved it to instigate CatchUp.

it's amazing what old man like us (you and me and minty) can do with a computer :-p

these alexandre/alex (burrows and auld) and the russian aleksandr/aleksander issue still bothers me.
some names and birthdates changed after the different patches. so the "older" facepacks can still have some small issues.

wahoo!! I am now the proud owner of virtually every facepack, and all of the news items, and everything. The only thing I do not get is Minty's NHL backgrounds (The ones that cover the whole screen when you are on your team page). Frustrated the heck out of me. COuld not get them to show up. Oh well! I got the background logos for eveyone. So cool. Wish I had done them sooner. Cannot wait for Devils unfaking...I may even help out with photos.

I got soooooo many photos. Yet nothing of Tomi Santala, the super Canuck. Heh.

I just sent you a PM about this. For the benefit of everyone else, the files download and extract fine. The only thing I can think of is that they became corrupted when you downloaded them (it's perfectly possible for this to happen when downloading any data off the internet). If you used a download accelerator then you might want to try not using it to download the files to see if that helps :)

This probably should be added into the graphic section, but someone will move it when they can or atleast when they get online.

I know that there is a place where you can download the game editor thing, but I am not totally sure where you can get it from. I know it is from some UK site that likes the whole EHM thing as well.

They have editors that will allow you to edit before the game starts and also to edit after the game starts I believe.

As for anything else, you might want to take a look around here. I know that we have plenty of graphic add-on stuff that you can use and I know there are a few fake database downloads as well.

By the way, welcome to The Blue Line and enjoy yourself!

EHM has a handful of leagues(and their players) that had to be given fake names, since SI couldn't get a license for them. What the above download does is change all the names of those fake leagues/players to their real names.

Though, if you want complete info on it, download it and check out the changelist. Thanks to Devils88's tireless effort, it details every single change that he has made to the original database.

Is the new database worth using? I am not doubting what Devils88 can do, because I have seen and heard of plenty good stuff.

I just want to know if it is that good, you know?

It is perfect! No attribute changes, and all the players have their actual names!

Eventually, there will be another dbase too, with the 2007-08 rosters. Or at least as close as possible (sans 2007 draft)

...Yes. It has all the real names of teams and players, and the official attributes are still in place - essentially giving us what we could have gotten had the game been shipped fully licensed.
