New Sens and Canucks should both be in the Logo Request thread.

Team colors editing and changing

Post by Antti J »

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to change the team colors (in the titlepanel etc), in an ongoing game? I'd like to change the Capitals and Canucks colors to correspond with their new logos.

thanks

I've never tried the Save Game editor, so I can't tell if you can change colours on the go with it.

If not, then the only way is by starting a new game. :dunno:

I don't believe the save game editor can do it. I tried back when the new NHL colours were coming out, and I saw no option for it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So when I set team colors for some of my teams, the home and away colors are switched in the box score view.... but not on the main view for that team. What causes this, and how do I fix it?
modnote: moved this question from its original posting in a new thread.

GUYS: Please lets not be so literal with our searches. This thread about editing team colors would have been just fine for our friend helmespc (I know you are somewhat new, please review the top of every thread for the note that tells you to be sure you have searched, etc.)...Please search. An easy search for "Team colors" would have turned up this thread as the third or fourth one down the list.

We are getting close to just deleting new threads without telling people. This is the last time I really want to say this. We are not babysitters.

Oh, and sorry I cannot answer this question. I never play around with that stuff.

I saw this thread and read it. I didn't think it was quite relevant, sorry... will keep this in mind for the future.

Think of it like recycling...

A water bottle may have originally been made for spring water, but it'll still hold any liquid...

So, one "team colours" thread can hold any team colour related talk.

...at least, I think it can...? :-k

I happens for about 4 of the teams in the 1979-1980 league. It seems like there's just some boolean value that swaps home and away colors for that team in the box scores. It's kind of annoying...

I may just try to re-create the teams and see if that fixes it.

There very well could be some code somewhere that has locked them backwards... because I've noticed something like this, where a teams colour can't be changed at all. For example, Buffalo. No matter what I change their colours to, they always show-up in-game as the default blue/yellow with blue trim(I've been trying to make it silver trim). :dunno:

Hello again everyone,

I can't seem to find this answer, so I have another one as I plug and chug along- do the color changes in the config file work only for current colors at the start of the game, or can I set them as future changes (ex. the flames gain black as a trim in 1995). Thanks for any and all help!

(I was told to put this here, but I can't find the answer in the four pages. I hope I'm having a dumb moment, but I don't see it.)

Sorry to double post, but I wanted to find out if anyone knows if it's feasible to have color changes occur in the future, either through the database or another means. Thanks for any and all help.

The only way to make something happen in the future is with the extra config file, I believe. And I don't know if you can make team color changes happen in the future with it. I'm guessing the answer is no though.
