Referee targeting

Post by Thundercleese »

I've had a couple players get unhappy on me because they feel they are being targeted by the refs. Is there any way to fix this? I've poked around and can't seem to find a 'complain about referee' function like they had in 05, so if anyone knows of another way please let me know.

Some players seem to get more paranoid about the refs than others; I've had players complain of this is the past and even then it was really just one of those things you have to wait out and hope they stop being paranoid... 8-) I guess if the player is one you set out there to bash some skulls every night you could sew his mittens on for a few games and see if that helps :-D

I've never seen that happen in 2005 or 2007.

Weird...

I know I saw a complain about referee button somewhere in 2007, though.

It's under your 'Board Suggestions' menu where you tell Bill Wirtz to increase your darn salary budget

I've noticed it's mostly Eastern European players that complain that they've been treated unfairly by refs. At least that's how it was in 2005. I've had it show up once in my first season with the Bruins (it was Chara) but that's it so far.

I've gotten that a lot with Jagr, lately it happened to my Finnish prospect Joose Nyberg.

Heh. Another Russian. This game does not like the Russian players. Or the Russian players do not like the refs in this game.

Anyway, I think it does help boost their morale a bit. Not sure, but I think so.

Honestly, after several succesfull ref complaints, i've never seen any morale boost. The only thing i noticed is that when the league approved my appeal, we generally demolish our next opponent, both physically and on the score-board. And i think that we mostly lost this next game if the league denied my complaint, or at least we make stupid mistakes.

Might be just me though, but it's barely the effects i've noticed.
