i just encountered and picked up this amazing fool
his stats are phenomenal! and only 39 years of age.
i picked him up as a assistant gm because he wouldnt accept scout wage so what should i do? keep him as assi-gm with a future head coach job or give him a high wage scout job with a future head coach job?
and he is fluent in english and russian
What you may end up finding with a guy like that...is he does not do well, because he cannot tell what makes a good forward, defenseman or goalie. He may be able to say yep he is good, but then he cannot teach them anything because well...his position coaching is brutal.
I would rather have a guy with a 16 or 17 in tactics who has green numbers in one of the position areas.
I would NEVER EVER hire him as a coach.
And I am not sure about anything else...because I want my guys to be good at understanding at least one position.
PLus...he has conditioning style which is really only good for fitness in practices. And maybe a little skating. But since he cannot coach a position well....still no good.
Not really, but the not being able to deal with positional players bothers me when rating guys for you. I would really look at just seeing how he does as a scout first.
I'm in agreement with batdad. This guy would be awful as any coach. I would personally leave his as AGM. He would give you extremely good reports and be good on draft day.
Hey, this guy is my Assistant GM in my game aswell!
He's great, but don't make him a coach. If you do, you won't be able to select him to handle anythng in practices, as he'll screw it up. Scout of Assit. GM is the way to go.
I would like to be able to send my Assist. GM to scout certain teams, as they would be much more effective. They give their (mostly useless) opinions on trade-talk and draft-table, and that's it.
I hired this guy as a scout in my 3rd season. My first draft class under him is fairly good. I had hired 5 new scouts that season. He's been a scout on my management team for 2 years now. There are a bunch of scouts out there with similar stats. Hakan Andersson for example. Also, Christer Rockstrom has unbelievable scouting stats. If you can get those guys, you're golden for scouts. There are a few Americans with nice 90+ (18+) stats as well.
P.S. I like your game skin. It that the factory setting or an addon (which one!)?
Are you sure this guy would not make a good conditioning/skating coach? I thougth you did not need high attributes in coaching goalies/foward/defense for those 2 coaching assignments, and If they are not important, then this guy makes a great coach for conditioning/skating.
It is also usually pretty easy to find guys with similar stats with a conditioning focus, so I usually have 2 guys like this to handle my conditioning/skating assignments. Am I wrong to do this? Would I be better getting guys with better coaching goalies/foward/defense?
Thanks Richie! I had seen that note in the hints (conditioning uses highest o/d number) but wasn't sure if it was still applicable. Some of the notes look as if they have not been updated for a few releases, so wasn't sure if that was still valid.
