Marns wrote:Hi guys, just new to the forums. Hopefully this is the right area to post this, as I've had a look around and it seemed okay.
I have a bit of a problem with the Lidas2.1 roster updates for my Mac. I'm still only running the demo version of EHM2007, but wanted to see how the roster updates looked before purchasing the full version of the game.
I unzipped the roster updates to the database folder, and it asked if I wanted to override the current files that were there. I said yes to this...(maybe my first mistake...or second behind having a mac). When I went into the game, I can see that the players attributes appear to be all the same as they were previously, and players are still on the same teams, with only a few changes:
a) Retired players all have a RET next to their names; and
b) The majority of players now have a Preferred/disliked team, and preferred/disliked staff member.
So something's obviously happened, but it doesn't seem to be everything. Can anybody help me out? Cheers.
Hi Marns!
Are you sure you installed the new database folder in the correct location? The correct filepath for putting the update folder (the whole folder) is: whereveryouputEHM/NHL EHM 2007/data/database. Also, make sure you have the latest patch installed (3.0.4).
It would also be a good idea to read through this thread, as well as the instructions for installing roster updates. Maybe the answer to your problem is already there.

Okay, thanks for that, I will try that stuff and let you know how I go. (I didn't have that 3.0.4 patch either, for the record)
Círyatan wrote:PS. I wouldn't call having a Mac a mistake.
Haha, nah, I've just had some frustrations with it recently.
One thing you don't want to do is overwrite the original database or you will lose the ability to play it without a re-install. Any new database should be installed into it's own folder inside the database folder.
Okay, so that's all good now. I had to reinstall the game and went through the process of installing the patch (3.0.4), and then putting the Lidas2.1 folder into the database folder.
What I did wrong initially was empty that Lidas folder into the database folder, thus overriding all the files that were initially in there. Instead, the Lidas folder should remain as it was, in amongst all of the database files. (Just in case anyone in future has the same problem I did).

I download the god darn new roster and i've create a sub-folder and i try to extract it but nothing is working. It tells me that the file cannot been extract in the file, What the Dickens is that? I use winzip for the extraction it's the only thing i know for doing this. It's been like an half-hour i try anything but nothing want to work i'm piddle-off right now.
Edit: Ok, sorry about this, i just got it. I'm a beast underpressure!

There are four files within \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins\ehm_default\background. These are used for different screens:
chl.png - displayed when viewing info about the CHL.
default.png - most commonly displayed in game.
office.png - displayed behind the 'Front Office' screen.
startup.png - used in the game's main menu when the game initially starts up.
I've been looking thru the forums here without any success for a question I've been pondering over so I'll just go ahead and ask it here
I have some awesome background pictures from a broken skinpack named Sketch made by Starcrasher I found by chance on my old computer when I was to wipe it before a re-install of the os. Is there any way of having several pictures as the default.png and have the game randomly pick one after another or cycle thru during gameplay?
bruins72 wrote:Sorry, bubbas. I don't think. Only one file can be named default.png so you really can't have it change without changing the file itself each time.
Hehe, that's what I've been doing little now and then during gameplay so far. Was just looking for a lazy way out here
Hello everybody, I read all the post but my problem is again here. First sorry for my english, I speak french.
I load the new roster of lidas, i have the version 3.0.4. I put the roster in the database but when i start a new game, i dont have choice of the database or i dont know where is it and is always the oldest roster appear. I dont know what doing!!
Pretty much everything you could have done wrong is already outlined in this thread somewhere. Reread it and double-check your files. The process really couldn't be easier. Unrar the database, take that folder and put it in [Application folder]>data>database. Then start a new game.
As for your problem, the whole process is really extremely straightforward. Download the database and unrar it: you should then get a folder named "Lidas DB2.2". Inside it, there are two things: a ReadMe file and another folder, also called "Lidas DB2.2". Put that folder (the second one) inside whereveryouputEHM/NHL EHM 2007/data/database. Also, you need to have the latest patch installed (3.0.4), but I hear you've got that covered.
If it doesn't work, I really have no idea what the problem might be. Are you getting any error messages?
Maybe I do a mistake when i put LIDAS roster over the original database. But I save the oldest database before and I just put the original roster over the LIDAs roster after that and I put a file LIDAS2.2 in the database. I think it's the right move but maybe not.

Sorry for my english again
The database folder should look like THIS if you want to be able to select from different databases when you start a new game.
Each database, except the original, needs it own folder inside the database folder.

I'm not sure if I get what you're trying to say, but there's really no need to do anything with the original database. Just put the new database folder inside the existing /data/database folder, next to the original DB files. Leave everything else as it is, don't need to touch anything.

Have a look at the screenshot Joe posted. That's how you do it. Should work.

No. Don't do this.
If you reinstall the patch, it will restore the original database. Then, just follow the 2 step instructions. Don't save anything, don't put Lidas database over the original, don't do any of that. 1) Unrar Lidas. 2) Put the unrared folder into the database folder as per the screenshot. 3) There is no step 3.
Reapplying the patch will reinstall the original database. That's in case you messed something up in the process. So, try to repatch and then don't touch anything, just put the LidasDB2.2. folder inside the /data/database folder.

Yeah, Círyatan means "don't overwrite anything", touching mouse is allowed If you're prompted to rewrite some file, you made a mistake.
I reinstall the patch, no progress. I just delete the game and reinstall completly the game and it's work!! I don,t know why because I do the same thing but it work. Thank you for your help!
i followed your steps but when i try to extract to my new folder it gives me a winRAR diagnostic error along the lines of the path can not be specified. any advice?
