OK, I've posted my first stats. Now for some comments.
Gentlemen, either I or this team, suck.
Or both.
Dubnyk has been my starter in 9 games now, and his stats are as follows: 13 GP, GAA 4.09, SV% 0.872. And one shutout (no kidding! I still can't believe it). I haven't, as yet, risked playing Pitton. If these are Dubnyk's stats, I can't imagine playing a goalie took out of the ECHL (where his stats are worse than Dubnyk's in the NHL).
My defense is mediocre. Souray is a stud, and him and Grebeshkov are the only defensemen doing what I really demand of them. Oh, and Nickerson (4 fights, 100% won, I like this guy). Staios is underachieving, and Gilbert and Višňovský I know are capable of contributing more. Having a log instead of a goalie doesn't help, I reckon, and I really haven't worked out the defensive tactics for this team. But I hope I will.
Batdad is a genius when it comes to defensive play. Mebbie someday in the distant future he'll decide to share his wisdom with the rest of the world, though I seriously doubt it. And mebbie it's better this way. Meanwhile, this is the Challenge. Let the best man win. And when it comes to me, hopefully I am going to learn something along the way.
Offense... well, I can't complain here. I sent Brulé, Cogliano, Gagner and Šmíd down, and I don't regret it. I have no problems with the top six (Comrie-Horcoff-Hemský, O'Sullivan-Penner-Nilsson), and Nilsson with 16 P in 20 GP is the only one under a point per game. The bottom six are more of a problem.

Nah, I had much easier time with the Avs. I understood that team's mechanics much better than this one's. But it's not that bad either. We'll see how it'll go in the following seasons, I hope I'll be able to fill the holes in the lineup. We need at least one goalie (and I mean GOALIE, not more dead weight), and we need 'im pronto.
