Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
Update: I have got it working with PlayOnMac! However does anyone know how to find the folder to put player pictures, logos, etc in? I can't seem to find it!
Thank you in advance.

Hi, does anyone know if a newer, playable version for Mac is out there, or which way is currently the best option? Thanks

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
Hello gauch33, I'm having the same problem message with directX, trying to open EHM EA in parallels. I tried to find a resolution setting in paralleles but I could only find the full screen settings. Where did you fix the resolution in paralleles? I tried different setup and everytime I got that same error message about directX.gauch33 wrote:Thanks Pete - I changed the resolution in Parallel and bingo working! Weird but it worked. THanks!!!!
Many thanks!

I can't load a new game anymore with the last update using PlayOnMac. Anyone else has this problem?

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
I'm playing on PlayOnMac on a macbook and it's working fine except scrolling with the track pad is all messed up - if I start scrolling it gets locked in scroll mode and whenever I lift my fingers from the track pad it produces a mouse click. Super annoying. I'm guessing this might be a compatibility issue and I may just have to use a regular mouse, but does anyone know of a workaround?

I have the same, I just don't use trackpad scrolling

But you have no problems starting a new game? With every database I import it crashes...

I tried running it with the logger, this was the line that popped up when getting the error:
No clue what that means...wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000014 at address 0x64e7a9 (thread 0061), starting debugger...

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
FYI: fixed it by reinstalling everything (PlayOnMac, xQuartz etc.)

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
So. I am finally willing to move over from EHM 2007. In reading back through the thread it looks like Tealshark's original wrapper no longer works? Is that correct? I would prefer to not use playonmac if possible as I already have wineskin.
Also, just out of curiosity has anyone tried to run install this in the terminal?

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
I downloaded the game on my Mac using PlayOnMac. First I downloaded PlayOnMac, then from within there I downloaded Steam. Within Steam I installed EHM. It seems to be running fine, but I'm wondering how I can get rosters, logo and facepacks, etc into the game.
I downloaded the file "2015-16 TBL Rosters v8.1a for EHM-EA.zip". I then expanded the file into a folder which contained "_README.pdf" and another folder called "TBL Rosters v8.1a". I tried to copy the folder "TBL Roster v8.1a" into the following:
PlayOnMac's virtual drives ----> Steam ----> drive_c ----> Program Files ----> Steam ----> steamapps ----> common ----> Eastside Hockey Manager ----> data ----> database
I then quit EHM and restarted it within Steam (within PlayOnMac), and nothing changed, the TBL rosters didn't show up as an option for a database, but the other folders located within the "database" folder ('historical 2006' and 'historical 2014') both show up as options along with 'Default (2015)'.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
I use the steamworkshop to get all this data, it fetches the data automatically.
The location you've picked is correct (PlayOnMac's virtual drives ----> Steam ----> drive_c ----> Program Files ----> Steam ----> steamapps ----> common ----> Eastside Hockey Manager ----> data ----> database).
But if you want to do it manually you first have to import the database through the import function. See here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 77&t=15616. Don't forget to tick the recalculate run time button.

Ah I've never used the Steam Workshop, so I'll give it a try. Thanks! If that doesn't work I'll use your advice for doing it manually.

Any Mac users using PlayOnMac? Roster update help!
As the title suggests, I'm using PlayOnMac.
Unfortunately I havent figured out how to roster update yet, so all the players are fictional.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Re: Any Mac users using PlayOnMac? Roster update help!
It is possible to download the rosters through steam but I just download the rosters here. Go into PlayOnMac and open the directory for steam, then steamapps, common, EHM, data, database and copy the folder with all the actual files in it there. After that just open EHM and import themcdevine wrote:As the title suggests, I'm using PlayOnMac.

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
Anyone having difficulty please follow this guide:
1) Open up PlayOnMac
2)Right click steam->open the applications directory
3)steam->steamapps->common->Eastside Hockey Manager->data->pictures
4)Paste your extracted ZIP files into there, replace the folders in there if it asks you.
Any questions just ask.

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
I'm guessing I can't get this to work because I'm using macOS Sierra? Has anybody else had success with this OS? I download, copy to Applications, right click to launch. It goes through the verification process but then just doesn't launch.

TealShark wrote:I decided to throw together a pre-built Wineskin wrapper for the new EHM for anyone still having issues getting it to run under Crossover or Wine.
This wrapper includes a pre-installed Steam (though it's up to you log into your account) and an installed Wineskin engine that eliminates the random mouse click issue some Mac users have run into.
Steps for use:
1. Download and unzip the pre-built wrapper here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/367 ... anager.zip
2. Move the "Eastside Hockey Manager" app to your Applications folder through Finder.
3. Right-click on the program and select "Open". This is only necessary to do once, you can double-click it after the first run.
4. Wait for Steam to load and enter your username and password to login.
5. Download Eastside Hockey Manager through Steam. You can either purchase it here, on the website, or through the OS X client proper if you haven't already.
6. Enjoy!
Starting directly into EHM instead of Steam (optional):
1. Successfully run EHM through the wrapper at least once.
2. Right-click on "Eastside Hockey Manager" in Applications and select "Show Package Contents".
3. Double-click on "Wineskin".
4. Click on the "Advanced" button.
5. One the line it says "Windows EXE" (near the top), select "Browse".
6. Double-click on "Program Files", "Steam", "steamapps", "common", "Eastside Hockey Manager".
7. Click on "ehm.exe" and select "Choose".
8. Exit out of Wineskin and try running "Eastside Hockey Manager" again from your Applications folder in Finder. If successful, it should now load directly into EHM and keep steam in the background.
To get to the data folder to add logos, pictures, etc.:
1. Right click on the "Eastside Hockey Manager" app in Applications.
2. Select "Show Package Contents".
3. Select "drive_c", "Program Files", "Steam", "steamapps", "common", "Eastside Hockey Manager", "data".
I've been using this since release and it's been working wonderfully, so I thought I'd share a clean, untouched version with those wanting to use it on OSX.
As always, I can't predict how everyone's machine will handle the software, but I hope for most people it should be as easy as what you see above. I believe you need to be running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) or above, though I've only been able to test in on Yosemite.

Re: Running EHM:EA on a Mac
Somehow I just learned about this game last night and instantly downloaded it. EHM 2007 was probably my favorite game ever but I stopped playing it when I reached a point in my career where it always crashed on the same day. I'm pretty sure I used to post on here too but couldn't remember my login info so I had to make a new account. I am pumped that there is now a way to play on Mac so I don't need to switch operating systems on Boot Camp like I used to! It looks like I have the game up and running on El Capitan, but I have some slight issues:TealShark wrote:I decided to throw together a pre-built Wineskin wrapper for the new EHM for anyone still having issues getting it to run under Crossover or Wine.

(1) For some reason, I am having the mouse/scrolling issue even after following the above instructions, and
(2) I don't see the "common" folder inside the "steamapps" folder, so I can't load the game straight from EHM instead of through Steam, and I can't upload logos/faces.
Did I do something wrong? Thanks for all your work!

Re: Running Eastside Hockey Manager 1 on a Mac
I run my EHM through PlayOnMac. Never had any issues. I stopped playing for a while (busy with real life things)
Went to play the other day and it won't load. Steam says its running but it never loads up, I can't see it in the force quit part nor can I tab over to it. I tried the deleting sports interactive folder fix, but that doesn't work. I uninstalled EHM then re-downloaded it, that worked. So I thought I was good to go. Then didn't play for a few days, went to load it up last night and same thing happened. Anyone have an idea as to why this may be happening? I don't want to have to re-download it every time I want to play!
Thank you.

Re: Running Eastside Hockey Manager 1 on a Mac
Thanks for the reply mate. Hmm thats kind of annoying, the game is pretty plain and average looking without all the photos etc.
