Can't wait for your database! After that, i will start my real career! Not bad, one year after the game appear! XD! All the players will be in the wrong place and the AHL will not look like in 2007... But we know it's not your fault and it's TO MUCH of work, so i don't blame you... You're really nice to do that for us!

TBL:DB version 1.0 is now available for download: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/dl ... ile_id=375

Please use this thread for any general discussion about TBL:DB or if you have any problems or need help.
Use the Data Issues Thread to report and mistakes or omissions in the data.

TBL:DB corrects all fake players, staff, teams, competitions, arenas, etc. to their correct real life names. This database solely changes the names of things in the database that had fake names; ABSOLUTELY NO ATTRIBUTES HAVE BEEN CHANGED NOR HAVE ANY ROSTER UPDATES BEEN MADE. In other words, this is identical to the original 3.0.4 database but with corrected names. Also, player histories have been corrected.

The database is based on the final release of the official database that came with EHM patch version 3.0.4. Thus it should be more stable to use with EHM version 3.0.4 than databases based on earlier versions. Whilst we have run a ten year test season without encountering a single problem, you use this database at your own risk.

I don't know if you have allready seen it, but there is an enormous amount of information available from these two threads used for the Unfaking database :

http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/nhl-e ... r-say.html

http://www.thebreakaway.net/forums/showthread.php?t=274

Alot of it is attribute changes etc., which I understand you are not doing, but there is also a lot of histories, duplicate players, wrong team names, wrong team allocations etc. etc.

The two projects are different in what they attempt to accomplish, but alot of info can be used by both :-)

Thanks for the info  As you will see in our Changelist, D88 has already corrected a lot of incorrect histories, wrong team names, duplicate players, etc. but maybe there might be a thing or two he missed.

I'm not going to get into a debate as to whether TBL:DB is better than Kidhander's Unfake DB or vice-versa; nor do I want anyone else to get into that sort of debate - it's not good for the EHM community. All I will say is that the purpose of TBL:DB is to provide flexibility for the community and also for people to know exactly what has been changed.

TBL:DB is based on the official 3.0.4 database - we hope this will improve stability with EHM 2007 compared to the Unfaking database has been based on a previous version (I think it may have been 3.0.2 - I can't remember). I'm not saying that TBL:DB is perfectly stable or the Unfaking DB is unstable, but I think perhaps Kidhander should have started his project again once the final 3.0.4 patch came out in order to ensure maximum stability.

We also wanted a great deal of transparency so that users can see exactly what has been changed. We don't think it's fair if we release such a complex project and not tell users what has been done. Thus we have a complete changelist for TBL:DB and we will also be having complete changelists for our roster updates in the future.

We haven't changed any attributes or made any roster changes. Our aim was to simply remove the faked data from the 3.0.4 database. Anyone is free to take TBL:DB and update the rosters and/or attributes if they so chose - a credit to D88's work is all that we ask.

I'm currently working on updating the NHL rosters in TBL:DB. I'm as far as the end of June 2007. Also, Calv is working on updating the UK EIHL and EPIHL leagues, getzlaf15 on the three Canadian junior leagues, and yankeemofo on the ECHL. We hope to merge the four updates into one. We won't be changing any attributes because we don't feel we're in the best position to do so - I can't change the NHL attributes because I haven't been to any NHL games (I've only ever seen them on TV). I think to be in a position to change the player attributes, you need to regularly go to the actual games and watch the teams often. Maybe in the future we will see if we can get a competent team of researchers together to update the attributes. But we want to do things one step at a time, the next step being updating the rosters to the start of the 07/08 season.

Yeah thanks a lot guys, this is great. I always felt that it seemed like something was sort of missing with the faked names and what not.

On a side note, its pretty neat to see my cousin on the Toledo Storm's roster and to have the Port Huron Flags unfaked for the UHL.

Thank you!:notworthy:

This database is simply great! I find it amazing how much work and hours you must have put in this project. This makes playing the game so much better. At last now i can take over HPK from the finnish Sm-liiga and start building a real dynasty. :-D Thank you for all the work you have done. =D>

So the attributes on base on a scale 1-20, instead 1-100?

Posted: Sun Jul 15, 2007 7:12 pm
by Calv
No, the attributes have not been changed.

You can change the scale from 1-20 to 1-100 in the preferences under use alternative attribute range(or something similar)

Now available for download is a small set of corrections for the extra_config.cfg file. This unfakes all of the names in the extra_config.cfg file so that it works correctly with TBL:DB 1.0. Simply place the updated file in your TBL:DB folder (e.g. NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database\TBLDB\ ). You have to start a new game to see the changes.

Here's the link: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/dl ... ile_id=378

Later versions of TBL:DB will include this updated extra_config.cfg file as standard. Devils88 is currently working on version 1.1 which will include a number of corrections.

I applaud your work. However, seeing as I play in the UK leagues most of the times any such updates are useless to me unless they include attribute changes - players who would be awesome in the UK in real life sign for me and are awful and vice versa. Still, isn't it great that a now discontinued game still gets such great support from its fanbase?

It is great that we have such dedicated people to continue support for EHM

I guess the advantage of using the TBL:DB for you would be that you could sign players from Europe and North America who have their real names so you can check them out in real life. :dunno:

Either way, Calv (my bro) is working on a UK roster update that is based on my NHL roster update (which in turn is based on TBL:DB v1.0). There won't be attribute changes but the rosters will be up-to-date.

The reason we don't change attributes is because we don't feel we can do this in a realistic way as we don't go to the games of all of the teams we are updating. I don't think a database that involves people from all over the world (who have never seen the team/player in question play) posting that player X should have his strength increased to 18, etc. is really a worthwhile database to use - personally I'd rather stick with the default attributes that were researched by people who had seen a lot of these teams/players play.

It's awesome that people still have a love for the game and the sport, and it's amazing to see people from all over the world involved, from england to america to brazil,

It's brilliant that people have decided to carry on working for the good of the game, to keep it as fresh as possible, and people who do any kinds of work, from roster updates to skins deserve a HUGE round of a applause =D>

The original TBL:DB is clearly explained as starting with the 2006-07 rosters.

The new updated ones will be September 2007 for the 2007-08 season.

to be precise, the first day of the NHL season is when that will be done, i am currently updating the OHL, WHL and QMJHL as the days go by, and i guess they will be released from when them leagues start, on the opening nights rosters, but i'll wait for the Archibald to ask for them

I was wondering if there was an updated Logo pack that goes with this, I see on the first page that the person taking the screenshot has college logos.

Nevermind I just noticed the (TBL:DB) tag at the end of some of the logo packs in the download section.

Great job BTW, I've been trying to do this myself but its great that someone else has.

What exactly is different between this and the original unfaking?
