Hey guys!

After a semester with a lot of hard work I really looked forward to play some EHM during the summer (I accutally had it as a motivator), my favorite game ever. I downloaded and purchased EHM 2007 but I cant run it, which makes me really sad.

I tried everything that has came up in this thread and on other places I've found.

My problems:
- When I click on the icon it looks like its loading (this cirle shows up next to the "pointer" (or what is it called?)) for a couple of minutes but nothing happends after that. The weird thing is that when I re-installed the program it has worked sometimes. But if it works, it stops working when Im installing the patch 3.0.4 (and it looks like it loading)
* I have tried running it in offline mode, uninstalled it, tried every compatibility mode and running it as an administrator and so on (as i said, i have tried all you've suggested here). Nothing seems to work.
~ I have windows 7, 32 bit (i think, I have a map in windows called System32 (im not so bright when it comes to computers)

Anyone have any ideas? I just want to play my game....

Download.com has a download available here

I can't guarantee that it'll work, though.

Just to double-check: Are you running a cracked copy of the game?

Did any software come with your new monitor? IIRC we had a user some time back who found that new hardware drivers and/or the hardware's software caused EHM to crash.

Are you installing the game using admin privileges? I.e. are you using the 'Run as administrator' option?

What is the exact error?

If it's a DLL file you're missing then you can find it either via Google or http://www.dll-files.com/

What says "file cannot be specified"? WinZip, EHM or Windows?

WinRar says that the specified path cannot be found, and that it cannot create a file for lidas 3.2.

It's likely because you're not running WinRAR with admin privileges. As a workaround, extract the file to your desktop and then move the folder to the correct place in the EHM folder.

Tried it and it worked, thanks a ton, a few more things and I'll be set, how do I go about opening the transfer rules config file and downloading the editor ? is it the same process ?

You can simply open the transfer rules config in Notepad. Unless you run Notepad with admin privileges, you'll have to save the cfg file somewhere like the desktop and then move it to the correct folder.

Installing the Editor is easy - just run the install file. Note that you MUST run the Editor with admin privileges otherwise the changes you make to the database won't be saved. It'll seem like they saved, but you'll find that when you run EHM (or reload the database in the Editor) that all of the changes you thought you made will be lost. This guide explains how to run with admin privileges (see option 4 - Using Compatibility Mode):

2. To Always Run this Program as an Administrator - A) Check the Run this program as an administrator box, and click on OK.

3. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes to apply permission to allow the program to run with full permission as an administrator.

When I try to run the install the editor it says I'm missing some files, which files could they be ?

Yes, replace the old config file. You cannot add additional config files - you can only edit existing ones.

Alrighty folks, I have been trying to install my copy of EHM on my new desktop computer and I keep running into this problem while trying to load the game. Keep in mind I have changed the compatibility to Windows XP/Service Pack 2 and have been opening it with administrative privileges. I am out of ideas of what to try. Here is a view of my screen after getting the error message...

Hi guys..I seem to be having a reverse problem. I have Windows 7 and the game plays great. My problem is the game won't allow me to play in full screen!! I check it in the preferences, click ok..the game flashes but goes right back to windowed version..I go to preferences and the full screen option is unchecked again? Could i have my resolution too high? i have it set at the recommended 1920x 1080. thanks!
