Woohoo!
Never Dies now have a guitarist!
After a long time without guitarist since Kelly's gone, we now have one!

At least we're becoming a real punk band

lol
So warm welcome to John Keating, Holydogg's character

No problems with the hairs
For the heavy riffs, personnaly i wouldn't be against it, but in the game it would mean that anyone in the band would have to learn the heavy metal skill... Actually we're not all perfect in Punk Rock, so Heavy Metal will wait a little

By the way, it should be a funny thing to do in the future
But if you want some originality, remember that my character is a bagpipes player, which is pretty unusual in punk!

Berrurier Noir got some wind instrument too (sax or trumpet not sure) It's the keyboard i'm wondering.. Okay the Clash put some electronics in their late works (like Ivan meet GI Joe)
it's a good start for Hair Metal!!!

yeah

^^
But as i told you, Never Dies will actually stand as a punk rock band

It started like this 3 months ago, and an other band of TBLers, The Dead Generation (lead by Minstrel/April Serwood) is also a punk rock band, so it's fun to compete in the same style
Metal is my heart, but it's fun to make some punky noise in Popo

Wow! Just seen that the Popo thread came over the 1000 replies mark!
Maybe the most popular thread on TBL!

I know, I know
Which kind of punk? Riot punk like the Exploited, Emo-Girly like Simple Plan or Ecclectic like the Clash??
Maybe "punk-metal" like Metallica's Kill em All

Yup yup!

We now have 7 TBLers on staff at Punks in the Hall

In the beginning we were still building up because I took over as a newb CEO which hurt our rating so I could only raise guys to within a dolla of the longest-standing workers so as to not have more new players as the top workers but now things are settled in and we just made darn near 2 mil on the Comp shows and added extra worker slots so I have to word from the big boss that I can raise anyone to the limits

Those limits fluctuate a bit but in general I can get people pretty decent wages now and we have a few openings yet.

Actually, our main core of songs are NYHC songs

We also have some tracks in other punk styles. In the band page (click 'career' to access it) go to 'repertoire' and you'll see the list of our actual songs and their style
And yes, i wrote 5 of our 7 best songs, including our top one

(sort them by 'quality' to see which ones are the best)

Trashing Hotel Rooms For Fun and Star Quality Boosts... by April Sherwood
Figured I'd mention this, you are supposed to get an increase in fame and star quality for trashing your hotel room, that is if you set your hotel preferences to "Smash and Pay" and the amount you end up paying is equal to the amount you paid for the room. So if you see "Spent $100 on my hotel room." Then you'll be charged $100 for smashing up your room with a wild after-show party and leaving town on the band bus or hitching a ride with another band on their bus.
You'll then get a message that says:
Dude, what an after-party last night! Furniture was flying and the TV literally exploded. It cost 100 US$ to sort it out with the hotel but dude was it worth it! ROCK'N'ROLL!
Just remember to NEVER smash your hotel room if you will be leaving town on a plane, because then it might charge you something to tune of thousands of dollars.

It's not that uncommon. There's a few "Irish Punk" bands out there. The Dropkick Murphys are probably the most well known. Flogging Molly is another well known one. I heard one on MySpace called, The Sharkey Doyles. It's a great genre of music. I don't really listen to regular punk but I love Irish Punk.

Yeah I'd seen them. For my dedication to the band, i've started a song called "Oleg Petrov" Habs fans will surely love

bruins72: bagpipes in punk exists, for sure

But it's not really usual... When you think of a punk band, you firstly think of guitar, bass, drums, singer, black flag, and anarchist sentences

And a few punk bands also have a bagpipes player, but not that much...
BTW, i really enjoy how bagpipes sound along with electric guitars!

that's why i decided to be a bagpipes player, even if i'm a guitarist IRL.

But the the next generation punks will be refered as teens singing that they're losers who can't get out with the cheerleaders queen or a bunch of depresive, black dressed emos. darn you mtv!!
how sad.... Where are you Johnny Rotten????

Personally, I'd go with basic composing first. The reason why is because in the early game you'll be composing songs much more than you'll be playing any instruments. So, any instrument skills won't really pay off until later when you start doing shows.

Basic composing!

for the same reasons mentionned by B. Stinson
joehelmer wrote:Wow, the best parts was when we entered the stage and when our special guest left the stage in our latest show. Is that good or bad?
Not as good as what i hoped, but not as bad as what i initially fear...
Our songs aren't well-known, and our new guitarist didn't have any guitar for the show, so we couldn't expect having a lot of stars for our songs. That's why our main events were all the extra stuff.
By the way, 11 of our 15 songs got 1*, and the 4 remaining songs, are 4 of the 5 i'm gonna remove from our repertoire when we'll have better songs, so no worries
Next week, i'm gonna rework our show without those 4 songs and see if and how the show is better.
I watched the show live, and was a bit surprised because most of the time the audience was 'poor' or 'below average', but the show finished as 'horrendous'...

On 22 events, we had 1 above average, 2 mediocre, 10 below average, and 9 poor...
