What other choices are there besides rabbits? I'm guessing it might be a good idea for me to get a pet but I don't really want a bunny. Can I get a dog? Also, how much does food end up running everyone?

My cats are fairly cheap to run costs between 8$ and 23$ depending in which city your in.

You could allways go for a monkey or tapir............ or better still an elephant

From reading the Popo FAQ, I got some good pointers about pets:
  • Having more than one pet does not further increase its positive effects (improvement in mood) on you. You're best to stick with one.
  • If you leave your pet at home, it will still have a positive effect on you so long as you are in the same city.
  • Once you have bought a pet, you are bound to feed it. Money will automatically be taken from you to pay for food. If you have no money then your pet will go hungry and eventually die.
  • There's some animals it's best not to have running around in your house. Just like with other things in the Popo World, just because something is available/possible does not make it a good idea. I'm guessing something like an elephant would do more harm than good. I imagine that carrying an alligator with you at all times would be a somewhat hazardous thing to do.

Hmmm... I like the cheap feeding but I hate cats. I've always been a very anti-cat person. I'm holding out for a dog, thanks. Where can you buy pets? Do they sell them at regular stores or someplace else? Mr Minty, price-check please!

Go to the City Page and click on Shops from the right hand menu. From there you will see a Pet Shop section. There's only about seven pet shops in NY so it's not to difficult to compare prices.

I've bought a cat, named Billie Joe after Billie Joe Armstrong in Green Day. BTW he is the one who I got as avatar for Tyrone in Popo World. 8-)

DOH! I guess I could've figured that out if I had bothered to look. Thanks, Archi.

I think I might have to wait a little bit to get a pet. I want to get a dog. I don't think they have a Boxer (the type of dog I have in real life), at least not in NYC. So I'll probably go with either a Rotty or a Lab. The problem is, I'm looking at around $1,100 - $1,200 for one of those. That will clean out a good chunk of my spare cash and that might not be a good idea when you heading out on tour.

I friend of mine had a rotty and it cost around 140$ to feed it............... :dunno:

Yikes! And that comes up every week? I'm thinking I might have to wait quite a while then. Once you get a pet, you're stuck with it. I don't want to get a small cheap pet that I won't really enjoy over the long haul.

I think if you go to a park then you can set your pet free.

The reason I chose a rabbit was because they're cheap to buy and I imagine they're fairly cheap to feed.

Hmmm... if I can ditch it later, maybe it's not a bad idea to get one. I can use any mood boost I can get!

You can do that but if you can't afford to feed it and it dies your mood takes a big hit.

You go the countryside to release pets but again it will cost you a mood hit... Food costs vary from town to town actually, just like hotels. They are a wierd thing though, they are far from consistent, sometimes I go a week without getting a food bill, sometimes you get hit two days in a row, it's odd. :dunno:

Hmmm... so is it all worth the mood boost? Is the mood boost that you get from the pet worth all the hassle and money? Is it a big enough difference between having one and not having one?

I thought that was just me................... Sometimes i get one food bill other times two food bills for both cats.

The cats are two black and white cats Stan and Ollie named after stars of the silver screen Laurel and Hardy. Which are actually my real cats as well.

Anyone who wants to learn basic singing let me know I'm skilling it right now so it would be no trouble to teach it instead.

I think I could go for some basic singing...

(As a solo artist, I need just about everything ;) )

Cool, so then anyone wanting to learn basic singing just ask to be my apprentice if you haven't yet and then set yourself to 'Learn from Master/Mistress'. I'll be hanging out at New York University. You should probably set yourself to follow April too so that we don't miss any updates. I tought the boys Basic Showmanship out on the road last time.

To all NYC based VIP's I'd like you to consider voting for Jeffery Jarrett for Chief Justice, I always forget where voting is (I think it should be at City Hall right? Nope!) so you get to the voting area by clicking on the City link then on 'City Details' and the voting is under the 'People's Assembly' link. The reason I say vote for him is he's one of the people that helped when the city had the Typhus outbreak and he's always seemed level headed and intelligent in his posts at the PopoForums.

Oh, and one more thing about interacting/mood I know it's a pain but you get the most out of your realtionships if every update or whenver it's been a while you run through your list of friends and make sure you track them down and interact with them. It's only when you do that consistently that you'll begin to see improvements, if you haven't been interacting much the other character will take longer to respond  So make sure you set yourself up with a list of all the TBL peeps, and get them on you friends list and start working the interactions. I bet you'll see a difference in a few days.

Hooray! I'm out of hospital! This time I shall try to keep my relationships up with all of my fellow TBL'ers on Popo. Hopefully my trusty rabbit will help too.

Tom - I've given you a copy of my door key. You could try dropping off the sax at my apartment.

Minty - do you still have access to a list of the best jamming places to go? I seem to remember you having a quality/price comparison list.
