April's Singing Class has begun at NYU, so anyone interested in learning basic singing only needs to interact with April until you get the 'Ask to be apprentice' option in your transactions drop-down, then set yourself to 'Learn From Master/Mistress' and hang at NYU until you get your 'Eureka!' message.

How good am I? One update where I'm set to learn singing from April and WHAM! I've got it learned! That's sooooo much better than the last time where it took me well over a week to pick up showmanship!

Argh! My mood is dropping again

What am I doing wrong?

I'm making a big effort to interact with my Popo friends and I moved myself to the gym during an update whilst my priority was exercise at the gym. Plus I have a pet. I know I have my priority set to study but surely I can keep my mood up whilst doing that?!
In the hope of slowing the mood drop, I've got my other priority to compose music and I'm sat in Central Park.

Archi: seems you're good for hospital
Maybe your character just have a highest "capacity" to be depressed
Did you learn yoga? It should reduce the mood drop

I think you'll have to put a week in or so with high interaction levels before you see the difference. This is a long-term game so for example sometimes it takes a few updates shopping or going to the gym for me to build back, but all I can say is that I interact with about 15 people two or three times a day and use my rabbit and since we returned from the road I've been skilling constantly and balancing out fluctuations with either shopping or going to the gym and I've been in the mid seventies in both health and mood the whole time.
So I think that April just being a more 'tough' chracter is part of it, but I do work at it even though the interaction thing can be a drag and I think that has to be a big part of the answer long-term.

darn! I thought we could only interact once a day with everyone (i mean, doing all the list of interactions; at least all the ones we want to do)
How often shall we make all the interactions? At every update? Or is it a time basis (every 4 hours, etc)

Everyone's updates come at different times, so I'm not sure if it's tied to that, but I just watch for people's lists to refresh, if you have no options then it hasn't reset yet

But it does happen at least a few times a day.

I'll try to interact with around 15 people as often as I can. The problem is that I work during the day so there's no chance of it happening during some updates. I was looking at my relationships page; I have made lots of peoples' moods in the green by interacting with them but many are not interacting back to me and so my mood stays in the red. 99% of the people I interact with are TBL users.

Sorry to have sounded a bit harsh with you, it's just that lately i get rid of one cold and i get another straight after. Hopefully i won't get this version as i must be immune to a load of cold strains by now.

Colds are tricky though so we do have to be a bit understanding; there is a period of 'incubation' of several hours when people might not know they have a cold yet but then it pops up later in the mean time it's possible they have passed it along. So the virus itself may have been passed on carelessly by some nOOb and you didn't notice it... so it's not as cut and dry as it can seem.
Anyhow, I've sent out about four messages to docs currently in NYC to help us with our cold situation, if you ever want to track down a cure go to the Popo Forum and start clicking throught he people listed on the 'Calling All Doctors' thread and see if you can find ones in NYC, then kindly message them and ask if they could possibly cure you and/or your friends and that you'd compensate them by getting them a med base for their trouble.

Discovered this Popomundo from the Knowledge Base when trying to figure out some EHM stuff... Seems like a nice time sink for me while I'm at work... My character is Darren Power...just have him sitting at home writing for now.

Yeah, we've been having fun with it. My band The Dead Generation recorded our first song today which was cool.
I messaged ya in Popo, I can help you out more tomorrow, right now I'm trying to stay at the University as I'm teaching the Basic Singing skill. I'll add you to our list

but in this section of the Forums you can see people's character names now so that will help.

But i won't interact with you at once, as i have a cold, so i keep it for me

Is anyone 5 star in basic composing?

If you're asking about teaching, people don't have to be 5 star in a skill to teach it

I wasn't sure about that because someone wanted me to teach electronica them i didn't because i thought you had to be 5 stars.

Nope, all you need is the skill. However your chances of teaching them it faster are greater the higher your IQ and the higher their IQ, but it is like many elements of the game frustratingly random

I taught Palmer Basic Singing on the first update, but you never know really.
You gain stars for teaching just as you do when setting yourself to improve a skill; but teaching is the only way to get over 5 stars in anything. If you look at Tara Ricketts character (she's often at NYU) she has 6 stars in basic singing.

So when she sings to you it sounds GSG and makes your brain go a little gooey...

I've never thought we should get higher than 5*... Interesting thing to know
How it goes for gaining stars for teaching? Is it according to how many students learned from you? Or based on the number of updates you spend teaching?

Getting more than five stars is super-rare, but only done by teaching and I'm not sure how it's measured but I think I heard something in the range of 100+ people taught I think, or I could be making that up

Even though the songs won't come out as well, would it be a good idea for me to park my guy somewhere other than home so you guys can interact with him?
