The IceDogs announce the completion of a trade with the Sudbury Wolves, sending goaltender Carter MacDougall along with a 14th Round Draft Pick to the Wolves in exchange for goaltender Arlen Mignardi!

Goaltender Carter MacDougall was the back-up for Niagara this past season, playing in 20 games, and posting a 13-5-1 record, with a 2.60 GAA, and a .896 SV%, he also played in 2 playoffs games, posting a 1-1-0 record, with a 3.53 GAA, and .848 SV%!

Goaltender Arlen Mignardi was the backup for Sudbury this past season, playing in 13 games, posting a 8-3-1 record, with a 2.12 GAA, and .918 SV%.

The Ontario Hockey League have released their 2010/11 Regular Season Schedule, and the IceDogs will open their season at home against the Mississauga Steelheads on September 21st, before travelling to play the North Bay Battalion on September 29th, and returning home to play host to the Sudbury Wolves on September 30th!

The IceDogs announce their slate of preseason exhibitions, starting with a three game tour of the USA!

The IceDogs begin their American Tour with a stop to play the Seattle Thunderbirds! Jake Marsh will get the start in goal for Niagara! Jake Marsh stopped 9 of the 13 shots he faced before being pulled in favor of Nicholas Malone, who stopped all 15 shots the rest of the way, holding off a Thunderbirds so that the IceDogs could complete the comeback victory!

The Hockey News released their OHL Season Preview, and the Niagara IceDogs (Team MVP: LW Walter Stevens, Key New Face: G Arlen Mignardi) were ranked 17th Overall out of the 20 NHL teams! Favorites to win the J.Ross Robertson Cup this season are the North Bay Battalion, though the Windsor Spitfires should give them a run for their money! The Barrie Colts, and Belleville Bulls should be solid contender, while the Kingston Frontenacs, and Sarnia Sting are expected to struggle!

IceDogs winger Alexcei Masch has signed a 3 year contract worth $500K per season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and leaves the IceDogs! I am hopeful he will be returned to the team for the coming season.

Former IceDogs winger Kegan Blasby has decided he cannot support himself playing professional hockey, and announced his retirment! He never played a professional game!

The IceDogs announce the completion of a deal with the North Bay Battalion, sending goaltender Nicholas Malone to the Battalion in exchange for a 2nd Round Draft Pick!

In 17 games with the IceDogs this season, Nicholas Malone posted a 8-8-1 record, with a 2.96 GAA, and .887 SV%, a drastic reduction in quality of play from the previous two seasons.

The IceDogs head out on the road, travelling to play the London Knights! Arlen Mignardi stopped 30 of the 34 shots he faced in the game, and the Knights took a 4-0 lead into the third period, and though the IceDogs scored three goals in the third, an empty netter put the game away for London!

Jake Marsh stopped 32 of the 36 shots he faced in the game, and though Ottawa scored twice in the third to tie the game 4-4, and force overtime, it would be IceDogs winger Remi Therrien emerging as the hero, scoring the overtime winner!

Team Cherry defeat Team Davidson 5-1 at the CHL Top Prospects Game! First star honours would go to Team Cherry winger Seamus Conacher (Belleville Bulls), who scored two goals, and an assist! Second star would go to Team Cherry winger Mickael Riley (Kamloops Blazers), who scored a goal! Third star would go to Team Cherry defenseman Felix Cloud (Oshawa Generals), who recorded two assists!

IceDogs winger Walter Stevens played 24:47 for Team Cherry, and was Even, served 2 penalty minutes, and had 3 hits!

IceDogs goaltender Arlen Mignardi was the third-string goaltender for Team Cherry, and did not play!

January 20th

The IceDogs return home to play host to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds! Arlen Mignardi stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced, and the score was 1-1 midway through the first period, and remained that way, as the goaltenders duel played out, with the IceDogs winning in the shootout!
