I've just come home from the third quarterfinal between Djurgården and Linköping in the Swedish playoffs.
Djurgården won with 4-2, more about this in the European hockey thread.

The last live game I saw was the Cardiff Devils vs the Sheffield Steelers.
It was a hard fought game, but the Cardiff Devils lost 4 - 3 in the dieing minutes of the third period. Hopefully I'll catch a playoff game...

I go to Port Huron Icehawks games all the time. I'm going to one on the 29th and I've seen Darren McCarty play in Flint with the Flint generals.

This is how it sounds when the fans of Djurgården sings our songs.
http://www.jarnkaminerna.se/slutspel08.asp#id4611
In the beginning I'm in the area of people holding up a yellow paper.
The first song goes: "Djurgården! Djurgården! Djurgården! Heja Heja Djurgården!" which is "Djurgården! Djurgården! Djurgården! Go Go Djurgården!" or something.
The second song is the national anthem of Sweden.
The third song is a special song for Djurgården.
In English: "Sing for old Djurgården now, sing from your heart, the only team in the world that never gets old, sing when we win, sing when we lose, as long as Djurgården is, the life always feels right!"
The fourth "song" is just some noices.
The fifth song is one of my favorites: "Allez Allez La! Allez Allez La! Allez Allez La! Oh vi är här för vårat lag! För alltid oavsett! Förevigt Djurgården!"
In English: "Allez Allez La! Allez Allez La! Allez Allez La! Oh we are here for our team! No matter what! Forever Djurgården!"
The stands of concrete was swinging as we jumped up and down.
The sixth song was for our trainers Hans Särkijärvi and Mikael Johansson, and of course the players.
"Särkijärvis Järnkaminer! Johanssons Järnkaminer!" and so back and forth between the different sections af fans.
The seventh song when Djurgården scores goes: "Klockan slår! Klockan slår! Djurgården gjorde mål! O vad det är skönt att se Djurgården göra mål!"
Too hard to translate!
The eighth song goes: "Å en sådan härlig dag, Djurgården vann, Djurgården vann!"
In English: "O what a wonderful day, Djurgården won, Djurgården won!"
When fight is over, between Josef Melichar in Linköpin and Christian Eklund in Djurgården at least they are in the pile of players.

Both ended up with 25 minutes each for it.
The fans sang: "En jävla massa bönder!"
In English: "A whole lot of farmers!" pointing at the players and fans of Linköping. I later heard that everyone that doesn't come from Stockholm is farmer, so I'm a farmer, a proud one!
Some in the stands also says "Sore losers!" and "You're pathetic!" to Linköping.
Of course we were booing at Linköping as they left the ice, and celebrated when Djurgården were on the ice to thank us fans.
The arena Hovet, Johanneshovs Isstadion in EHM

, takes 8049 searts, and we were 8049 on the game.

Wow..would be my dream to see an NHL game..What are the ticket prices for example in Canada?
When u see the crowd from TV and how much people is in there..it's unbeliavable..I must experience it live some day.
Only games I've seen is Pelicans's 2 homegames last year..crowd was about 3-4 thousand,so it's not the same

I went to a few Stars games this year, but the best was Game 6 vs the Ducks. Can't afford to go to any of the later rounds, but I was happy to finally see a series clincher in person.

I went to see the Jokerit - TPS game in Helsinki yesterday. Even though I'm fan of neither team, I went along, cause my friend wanted to go see it. And even though the game wasn't very exciting, I enjoyed it nonetheless.

This week was hoping to get to a few games but I won't be able to....My son plays tonite, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Throw in his baseball schedule and whammo....
But tonite I get to watch the Kootenay ICE play the defending Memorial Cup Champion Spokane Chiefs in the first game of the WHL Season. Also it is a TRIBUTE TO ED CHYNOWETH night!! A well deserver tribute.

SM-liiga game, Blues - Jokerit, in LänsiAuto Areena. 31st March 2008
Had played 12 seconds when Blues did first goal. I was literally shocked and thought "this can't be true". It was 4 - 0 when I walked into car. Game result: 5 - 1. Jokerit lost semi-finals 3 - 4. Next game will be in Hartwall Areena. Exhibition against Pittsburgh Penguins!

ICE beat the Chiefs. 4-2. Well...one guy on the ice Michael Stickland had all 4 goals. Better bump up his EHM stats.
Last nite, The Prince George Cougars won their season opener, and the PRince Albert Raiders, perennial cellar dwellers hammered Saskatoon 8-2 or 8-3. Wow! Smoke show.
So happy the season has begun. Tonite off to see Burnaby Express play the Surrey Eagles. Should be a good one. The older brother of one of my kids best friends plays for the Eagles. As does one of his favorite hockey players.

Hah! I actually saw this guy in the toilet at the second intermission. I think he was part of a bacherlor party group or something, cause outside the toilet was a group of guys with big grins on their face. I said to him: "Hey, you're a cheerleader, but I didn's see you out there". He said: "I know, I was kinda out on the side."
Had fun, no doubt.
