I've scheduled our first show. it's going to be on CBGB - NY Punk Rock on 9 November 8pm. Hopefully we got even more songs, more members and more money then.

Hey guys! Was out mith mom and my assorted nieces and nephews today; what fun. Back to non RL matters though, the Jam and we can jam as often as we want I think it's just the free ones that take a while to get on the schedule...

Anyhow, it gives us four hours to practice any selected songs so really two is fine since we don't know any part of either yet. It's not like we're doing a show, it's just practice. 8-) Obviously you need to practice your songs before doing them in a gig... we'll see how much progress we make on either of the two we have available and we'll be able to tell how long it would take to get them up to snuff. Of course we have no instruments so for now everyone is playing air guitar I think heh.

Oh and I read in the help section that we should stay home if we have our career setting to 'write songs' as it's supposed to help; maybe all that hanging out in the Park with you guys is why my lyrics came out so bad :dunno:

I'm just wondering why joe got mgsports to help him with his lyrics. :-? :-p

I wrote a decent melody with terrible lyrics and added it to the repertoire
The song 'An ode to Minty' is in it's infancy currently, expect a chart topper with this one.

I've also got $202 so how do I add it to our artist?

I tried to finish my song and it said "You need to have at least 1 dominant instrument.". Does anyone know what the deal is with that?

You need to click on the drop down menu where it says dominant instrument and put some in  Click on the song name and you should see it, below the settings bit(i.e. tempo genre etc..)

Excellent! I just added electric guitar and drums as the dominant instruments. The song has zero fame but the popularity is about halfway. Not bad! It says the melody is "pleasant" but the lyrics are terrible. It's a rock anthem with a largo tempo. I would've done a punk song for the band but I started the song before I joined the band and saw we were punk. Oh well!

Also was thinking we should put together our salaries next Friday and but a skill book or two and we can all read them and sell 'em back and redistribute the money; we've got a lot of people so togehter we should be able to get something good and then we'll all benefit! Man Friday is a lonnnng way off though *getting impatient* :-p
I don't think we can share a skill book. I was just reading the game help and it said that after you read a book, it disappears. I might've misunderstood but it sounds like books are a 1 use item.

Pleasant melody sounds good  My next one should hopefully be ok as I've just upgraded my musical talent to below average.. :-D

I kind of went in a different direction with my experience points. I spent most of them on look and charm, getting them both up to below average. My musical talents are at poor instead of terrible now though.

Well I guess that the books in the second hand stores are ones crooks have lifted from people?

Anyhow; once one of us knows the skill we can teach everyone else all the same time so we just have to keep building our relationship levels with each other so we can get that option opened up to us. We also get a skill each when we finish the momma list but that obviously isn't going to be for a while...

About the Jam upcoming today; I read that we should focus on just four songs per jam for best results so I picked the four that rated highest on our list when sorting by quality to work on today. If you add a song to the rep today before our jam check and see if it is higher quality and should be practiced instead  My second song, inspired by the movie Pump Up The Volume, won't be ready in time I don't think and who knows how it will turn out in the game...

Shall we sign a record contract already or shall we wait? :-k

It seems the big benefit of a record contact is that a lot of the companies will get you instruments for cheap. So I say we wait until we have enough money to buy instruments...

Okay, we wait then. BTW how do i do to transfer money from Tyrone to the band?

I think that money for record sales and shows goes to the band and then you'd distribute that to the guys in the band; I don't think there is any reason to give money to the band.

I don't have any money actually... :dunno: just been making sure I interact with people as much as possible, it's like twice a day the talk/hug/buy drink etc. options come available again. But 'busking' can get you like 35 bucks or so sometimes. We don't get paid until Friday for our jobs.

It's Halloween, so if you can find a Monster Mask or the like and wear it until your diary says you love scaring people it will boost your mood back up to 100% I was scrounging the 2nd hand shops but no deal guess we have to go to a regular store to find one...

How do I buy from a generic store? I can't see any "buy" button. :dunno:

I was shopping around yesterday and saw on for sale. I forget what store it was, but it was in the toy section, and very cheap... like $11 or something. I'll look around right now, I'm sure I can find it for ya since I've been to only a few stores total. ;)

EDIT: Joe, I have no points since I keep using them to "upgrade" myself. Should I be keeping them for somthing? Also, you have to be in a store to buy stuff. I learned this the heard way

EDIT AGAIN: Minty, "Star Products NY" has a monster mask for $20 in the toy section.

NOTE: Don't take fireworks on a plane. I saw in someone's diary that they had their small pack of fireworks taken by customs. :-D
