craig adams: 120 to 110 - hes a good fourth liner but never a third liner.
aaron asham 132 to 120 - hes a great fourth liner. sometimes a 3rd liner.
chris conner - 95 to 125 - hes proven he can play on the 3rd line in the NHL.
cooke 142 to 135 - hes having a bad season.
crosby 180 to 195 - hes at the top of his game. hard to say he doesnt deserve this.
engelland 90 to 115 - hes clearly proven he can play as a 6th D man. even resigned for 3 years one way.
fleury - 164 to 173(maybe higher) - had a rough start, but mostly cuz of the bad D infront of him. hes playing the best he ever has at the moment.
godard - 110 to 90 - hes useless. a fighter and thats it.
goligoski - 145 to 160 - hard to say this guy wouldnt be a solid #3 anywhere else in the league.
kunitz - 145 to 160. kunitz is clearly a first liner. dropped him to the "1st/2nd"ish rating.
letang 137 to 180. Potential norris trophy winner. Solid D amazing O. and hes a 137?
Martin 145 to 180 - you are telling me we paid 5m a year for a number 4/5 Dman? where do you come up with these ratings? do you even watch hockey?
michalek - 130 to 170 - right. michalek is a #6 defenseman. totally forgot that...
orpik 138 to 169. again, severely underrated.
who did the ratings for the pens defense? its atrocious.

No worries. I have just never heard that term when it comes to hockey. Just imagine if I was to write in german on this forum. I do speak german, but some words would probably seem far-fetched

In Germany, some words have several meanings, such as obligated (in german = verpflichten). Sometimes these words are then translated incorrectly into English. But you're right, the word "obligated"is not used in English speaking countries for player purchases or signing contracts. So, that was a short German lesson.
As long as we can communicate with feet and hands, all is well!

I feel your pain! I traded some high end picks in my first season with this roster just to bolster the D!! Maybe an update will be made - They shouldn't even put Godard on the team...he's going to get traded for a late round pick regardless!

Put down the kool-aid and look at this season's stats, and think about this all again.
Michalek? He's a team-worst -6 on the season on a team where even the two main enforcers are +1 and -1.
Martin? His numbers are padded a bit by his offensive stats. Defensively he's not very good out there though if you watch him. Have you ever watched him in NJ or PIT? Yes, everyone said the Pens overpaid for him, just like they said about Michalek. And what happens? The on-ice result proves the theory.

Wait, but I thought this d corps was awesome and totally underrated? But it's not the goalie's fault either?
Someone's to blame, "weck up to thees". You're wearing some serious black and gold glasses there, pal. Take em' off and join the rest of the hockey world.

During the Thrashers challenge I drafted a guy named Biggs (Forename) Tyler (Surname) in 2007 (after season 1)
- in the second season there is another prospect called Tyler (Forename) Biggs (Surname), elegible for the 2008 draft. That's the right spelling, but the wrong year, maybe you could correct that.
The only other point I'd like to mention is Bäckström of the Capitals, IMO pinion he is well overrated (I didn't look up his stats in the editor as I am still participating in the challenge). A big reason of his sucess are his linemates Oveckin and Semin. He is a very good playmaker, yes indeed, but I wouldn't like him to be rated as good as a H. Sedin or a Crosby. Just a thought...
Jordan Leopold of the Sabres could as well get a little lift I guess, not performing the way he should...
The comment by tsolkway (spelling?) in the challenge discusion thread is containing some interesting ideas for the young upcoming prospects. I agreee with him on the point that the top draftees of the first 2-3 years should get slighter higher attributes and therefor a higher CA, I guess. It's not realistic to have to let them play for 2 or more years in Juniors until they are somewhere near a roster spot on a productive line....
Anyways, I thank you so much for this update you can't imagine

I hope you can keep up that great work and determination.

We are looking into the draft classes. It is too bad the regen classes are so good, too good IMO. I am considering overrating the real draftees to make it more even, but I'm not sure

I usually just boost the top 5-7 Draftees up by 1 in each stat mostly, I think RNH is severly underrated in this though, he's a much better skater and he's leading the WHL in assists.
I know you aren't basing the stats on this year, but his passing is 8 I believe and all skating stats are 10.

I started working on the WHL. Adding some of the young players (15-16) and new midget prospects (age 13-15) will probably help out with having less of the regen players. Although, I do believe plenty of the younger players in this game are underrated.

What about getting rid of some of those players that retire at the beginning of the game? All of those guys are making that first regen draft class too strong. If you deleted those guys and didn't have them set to retire immediately, they wouldn't get become regens and unbalance things.

While I disagree with the original ratings posted, your reply deserves questioning as well.
Michalek may have a poor plus minus (the worst stat in hockey) but he has been a rock and one of the reasons the Pens have one of the best PKs in the league. He is a brilliant defender and worth every penny we paid for him. Plus/minus is a garbage stat and will never reflect how good defensive players are.
Martin is a good defender and yes, I wish we paid him $1 less a year, but without knowing how good Letang would play this year, the team needed to pay that for him.
Fleury has stolen games this year and after his poor start has proved that he can once again be counted on.

2 Canuck things.
Chris Tanev shouldn't be waiver elgible and Manny Malhotra should probably have his faceoff skill bumped up from 16 to 18. He's consistently at or near the top of the NHL in faceoff % but in game he's not even top 20. Thanks.

Another Canuck fact. They have had something like 200 straight sellouts. I think the attendance factor should be set higher as even after winning Lord Stanley's cup they rarely sell out.

I cannot edit waiver-eligibility and I have already updated Malhotras face-off skills due to another poster reminding me

I have set all NHL teams after the official average attendance records. Maybe the game cannot cope with having a higher average attendancy than the max attendance as the Canucks are listed. I will look into it
