Re: Official 2011-12 NHL Playoff Thread
I'm really rooting for the Rangers but I think the Caps are going to edge it into the finals. They're just about playing as the stronger of the two teams - just like in the series against Boston.
P.s. fingers crossed that the Kings make 4-0 tonight.

Ah yes what a great news that a deal has been made between Buttman and guy Jamison.

If WSH/NYR ends tonight the second round would've past real quick! But I've got the feeling WSH gonna win that one.

Frustrating! The Rangers seem to be getting tired and frustrated. Maybe playing at home in game 7 might give them a boost, but I expect the Caps will win it.

I think it'll be rough for either the Caps or Rangers to make it past the Devils. this'll be two 7 game series in a row for both teams. Not saying it's going to be a cake walk for the Devils. Just that both the Caps and Rangers are going have to dig deep.

Woohoo 3 out of 4 is more like it!archibalduk wrote:Western Conference

I'm glad to see the Rags make it through to the conference finals. They were the better team in yesterday's game for the most part.
I'm predicting a Kings v Devils final. Though I'm thinking any of the four teams stand a good chance to get to the finals.

Ido hope Phoenix will get their ass kick real hard. I'm seeing a Kings/Devils final too. The conference finals are going to be interesting, 4 teams with a really good goalie, we will probably not gonna see that much goals.

3 out of 4 for me as well, that was a nice improval.
I also think the Kings and Devils will square off in the Stanley Cup Final.
But I still root for Rangers.

Wow...1 for 4 in the second round.
Anyways I say it'll be a Kings/Devils finals. Kings in 5 Devils in 6.

Oh and Hunter stepped down as Caps coach, heading to Shawingan to be with London, maybe even heading back to be Head coach of the Knights

He can really do that? Wow that's a nice boost for London.
I might try to see him there, since the Memorial Cup is like 15 minutes away from my home. I would love to see a game since it's not every year you got the chance to have it in your city, or near. But I fear it's too late to buy tickets and the others are way too overprice for that.
Edit: Just read that Hunter want to pass more time with his family and will not likely return as the Knights head-coach next year.

I will feel better if the Kings continue without losing even one game, I could say my team was the only one to beat them

I could be wrong, but I heard that there were tickets still available. Although now that all playoffs are done, the fans willing to make the trip have probably snapped up the rest of the tickets.philou21 wrote:He can really do that? Watching 10 people trying to open that penalty box door for 5 minutes was hilarious.
Even DeBoer and Torto were laughing.

Renney...gone. Shocking. Not really.
So...does anyone actually care about the playoffs other than Manimal and his Ranger? Noone can claim to be a Kings fan, here without being a bandwaggoner. But if they win out....a one loss playoffs. Wow.
And there is no such thing as a Devil or Yote fan. I refuse to believe there is. Anyone who claims to be one....well you know...they all cheered for other teams and those teams lost out.

Yeah those series are weird now. I can say I still like Kovalchuk but always hated New-Jersey and the Rags. The Kings have a good team with some players I like and the Yotes, doesn't need to speak about them. So I'm a proud bandwaggoner of the Kings!
At least alot of people are rooting for them, it compensates for the city of L.A. where probaly 90% of the population there doesn't know their NHL team is in the playoffs. Wait.....do they know they have one?

Well, batdad, in fact I cheer for Phoenix and Devils now. They both have many czech players. But it doesn't look good for them now.
My order:
Phoenix
Devils
Rangers
Kings

The Rangers needs Gaborik to step up his game. I don't care that he did not block that shot, it is his non-scoring that troubles me.
