There's the language difference... patience, m'boy! :-D
batdad wrote:Hawks are not yet done, even with the Fraser deal.
Ya know, bdiddy, I wouldn't mind to see Fraser as a Johnson replacement on the Canucks' 4th line... for a 6th round pick, that wouldn't have been a bad acquisition.

7m for Marleau apparently ? :dunno:
Am I the only one who thinks that's awful ?
No, it is too much for Marleau, but I agree with what batdad said. Somebody else would've given him that if Sharks hadn't. Plus he's been huge for SJ, there's no denying that.

Slow.
Oh, the today's youth seem to love the Hello Kitty. That's why they think the addon is a sign of... endearment, that's the word.

The word "best" seems to be somewhat not fitting here. :-D

You're just jealous. :-D
Nah, I'd rather see my team move forward, not frantically dismantle itself. ;)
They went forward for a couple of years. Now it's welcome to cap hell, Hawks. Still, I suppose the Cup might have been forward. Myself, I actually think it's interesting to watch how they deal with their cap problems. :-k

Wolski's lack of production, contract demands and his lack of determination were the reasons he was shipped out. They weren't prepared to give him the 4 million he wanted.

56 points in 55 games last season? No need to let him go!
Had to move contracts, only reason why the trade with Chicago was allowed to go through. It would have put them past the limit of 50 contracted players, so they send off two minor leaguers. One who's an RFA, the other a UFA who will test the market.

Well yeah, I'm aware, but just because somebody else is stupid enough to overpay doesn't mean you should match his stupidity :D

Meanwhile, the Bruins have approached Thomas' agent about a list of teams he'd accept to be traded to

The rumor mill is on fire right now. Local newspapers are saying that the Bruins are aggressively shopping Thomas AND Savard. I understand dealing Thomas but Savard? Some of the local talk is saying this is a result of Neely taking over as team president. Savard was a Chiarelli signing and Neely is pushing for his vision of the team to be put together. They're saying Savard just isn't Neely's type of guy. Still, they just re-signed the guy to a very cap friendly deal. He's a very talented center. Why trade him?

Because he is Barry Pederson Part 2. Cam would be familiar with that. Eventually this guy is gonna get hurt so bad he is not going to be able to play even half decent. Get something for him while you can. Another Neely trade.

I don't think Savard was hurt that bad. He came back from his concussion far sooner than Bergeron did from his. Everything I read said that his concussion was not a very high grade. I see now reason why he wouldn't be great for the B's for the next few years, especially at his $4M-ish cap hit.

I know he is a great player. But if you can turn him into something better...you do it. There are reasons he was let go by other teams as well. I know he seems to have matured a bit in Boston...but I still see him taking shifts off.

I understand where Neely may be coming from...he is not my kind of player either.

But who do you really think they'll be able to get for him? And at that kind of money? It's not like they have an abundance of cap room. Plus, from what I understand, he's got a No Movement Clause that is going to allow him to choose where he will or won't go.

And that is why it is a rumour my friend. A rumour that likely will not come true. Lots of crazy ones. Have you heard the Carey Price for Roberto Luongo one? Wow. Or Kris Versteeg for Vancouver's 1st rounder (25th) plus a Canuck prospect. Yeah right.

Boston may look at moving Savard, but they would need a tonne back and Neely knows it. They all do. Someone heard Neely does not like Savard and ran with a rumour. I would not be shocked if they were shopping him, but would be if they ACTUALLY did move him.

Price vs Luongo? Hahahahahahahha where did this come from? Vancouver? Even at MTL the fans are not throwning stupid rumors like that.

Nope..Montreal. Some silly PQ reporter...thinks because Luongo and Vigneault may have not gotten along and Canucks brought in Melanson who Price loves...that Luongo for Price would be a good deal. Heh.

Bruins have re-signed the old man. No, not batdad, Mark Recchi.

Well alright that make sense to me now. Pathetic, yes Luongo salary can fit really well with the cap at MTL. =D>

That's a good signing. I heard it's for $1M. Recchi brings a lot to the team, even at his advanced age.

So how bout that canucks trade... Glad Bernier is gone but ot sure what to think about ballard, haven't seen much of him

Honestly I think the Nucks give too much in that trade. They've been screwed. Ballard is "good" but they give too much for him.

Grabner is going to be the key part of that deal for Florida. He's got some real potential.

And thats my problem with the trade, I realize the canucks have some young forwards coming up but Grabner was too much. If it was kaberle i would say good trade, but ballard i agree. We got screwed!

Maybe just a desperate move because they're gonna lost Mitchell. Maybe lost faith in Grabner too. :dunno:

I've read a rumors about Savard have accepted to lift is non-trade clause and give a list of only 2 teams where he would like to be trade.

Both Thomas and Savard have officially waived their NTCs for certain unnamed teams. Rumour has it Boston's only gonna ship them out in a package, maybe a 3-way, and Chiarelli said he's not opposed to trading within the division if he gets a decent return there.
Meanwhile, the Bruins have traded Sobotka to the Blues for some undersized college Dman :-k
Chiarelli is in NHL10 mode.

Chicago made a qualitfy offer to Ladd, 1.65 millions. I would be surprise if he accept it though. With the rumors about him, I think he's gonna be trade.

CSNPhilly.com is reporting that Philadelphia has reached a verbal agreement with San Jose, sending them a 2011 7th-round pick if they can sign Nabokov before the 1st of July.

Will be hard to do with the Flyers cap, Nabokov is not gonna sign at 3-4 millions. If they really want him, they need to trade someone. Plus, Nabokov said he wants to test the market.
