In my tries it worked best if you trade them together with Edler for a young star player + draftpick or three depth players + two picks

It is not easy, but I managed. Got a couple pretty good players for them too. Everyone has managed to move the Sedin twins so should not be a worry there. Not easy sure, but it can be done...and it has been done with a fairly wide variety of teams. I was not exactly nice with where I Sent them, but one of them won NHL Offensive POW first week of season, so I guess they have adjusted to the horrible place I sent them. Some reward I gave the boys for all their service. :-D

Higgins was the first of the guys I moved out to get re-moved. Not even out of camp and he was shipped from Colubus to Ottawa.

Do I have to discipline everyone with a NTC more than once for them to be willing to waive?

In my game it has been enough when the information changed to "Feels he was fined (or treated) unfairly." Then they accepted the trade

1st season is in the books. Thankfully it's over. Screen shots have been posted. I drafted Jakob Chychrun.

So I Am approaching my 20th game of the year (19 played). My goalies have both played in 10 games, because one game Lack got injured early. They have been....very good. Not outstanding....but good enough.

This team is ridiculous. They have been in EIGHT shootout or overtime games. They have been involved including these games in SIXTEEN games that were either decided by one goal, or there was an empty net goal scored.

Every game we have lost in regulation time, the other team has an empty netter, and I was down by one goal when they scored it.

My record in these 16 one goal games?

9-3-3

My other games?

Game 1 beat Edmonton 5-3 (was up 5-1)
Game 2 beat Anaheim 5-0
Game 3 beat Colorado 3-1 (up 3-0)
Game 5 beat Minny 3-1 (up 3-0)

So yeah, that is my entire record right now.

13-3-3. But I have not had a more than eke out win since GAME #5. It is only a short time......before I go in the tank completely.

My last 4 games have gone to OT or SO, and I am 3+1 in those games.
The two prior to that were losses with empty netters scored against me.

The last 6 games I have been outshot by at least 7 shots. This is something I watch very closely....if shots are not good for me, I will change my breakout in between periods or my forecheck.

Game 20 is coming up vs the Kings....

My PP is not even 11 percent, my pk is not even 80%. Basically every game one of Bonino, Bartschi, Conacher or Nelson step up to help me win. Kassian was earlier but he has slowed. Vey is still doing better than I thought he would, getting a point every 3 games and hovering around 6.8 average rating. Scheifele has been terrible, but is picking it up.

Matthias out for a month with an injury has killed my penalty killing completely.

Writing this as I proceed to get to game 20.

Leaders:

Goals Bonino 9 Bartschi 8 Conacher Jensen 6 Kassian Nelson 5
Assists Bonino/Nelson/Trouba 11 Conacher/Weber 7
Points Bonino 20 Nelson 16

UTICA

12-3-0

Shinkaruk with 22 points, Grenier with 20, Muller with 17 Rakell 15, Horvat 12. Yes I sent Rakell down and brought Schefele back up.

Game 20

2-1 Loss,,,,,, in another shootout. I just cannot get over this. This is one weird team. I know I am going to take a drubbing soon...

The good news I outshot the Kings 41-33. The bad news? -0-6 on the PP.

I wll post my stats in the morning want to go to bed now.

One question. In rules you mention about players with NTC. It's possible to urge them to resign from this clause? :)

So, after 20 games I'm 27th in the league with a record of 6-12-2. But, on the plus side, I have 7 players with more than 10 points and another 6 players hovering around 7-9 points. And I also have 3 players in the top 5 for rookie scoring so far. A lot of plus sides to how poorly we're doing right now so I can't be too angry.

Another quick question about the rules.

From the 2nd season on, when trading for players, I can still only trade for players who are going to be 24 or younger at the start of the season? Right?

2nd pre-season done. Team went 7-4-0. I was given a lot of hope for this season, but the last 3 game in exhibition (L 6-0, L 4-3, L 6-1), especially the last one (outshot 56-19) showed that there is still a lot of work to be done. This is the reason why I decided to make the choice of having Thatcher Demko start down in Utica despite being my #1 goalie on the depth chart, but he'll get some time up with the Canucks.

Starting Lineup for Season 2

Bartschi - Bonino - Jensen
Conacher - Acton - Kassian
McMillan - Bracco - Vey
Bittner - O'Brien - Wilson

Sbisa - Tanev
Stanton - Sanguinetti
Wikstrand - Weber

As far as I understood the rules, it says "the same restrictions apply here that applied the when you first took over the team", which means to me they have to be 24 or younger.

That's what I was thinking. That's not what I was hoping. I just wanted to be sure.

So I decided to try and participate in my first challenge too.
And after a while this happens:

What?! WHAT?! 1st pick?! OMG. What are the odds of that happening? Well, I guess I'm the happy guy now.

Congrats! You had a VERY slim chance of that happening with the record that the Canucks had.

Very pleased with the number of guys playing this challenge.I knew if we had enough someone would win the lottery. That is awesome. Shows that Riz has the system coded well.

Holy rubbish. Leading the Flyers 3-2 in the 3rd period, and then all of a sudden Eriksson takes a dump and let's in 5 goals in 2:40. That's horrible. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Yeah, this is probably the best turnout we've had for a challenge in quite a while, especially considering the time of year. And I also wholeheartedly agree that Riz has done a great job.

I don't know if I mentioned it before but I set the end date for this challenge at one month from the start. Towards the end of that month, we'll do a poll and see what kind of interest there is in continuing this challenge. If there's enough people wanting to continue, we'll extend it. If not, we'll run a new one.

I know that feeling. That's been the story of several game in my season so far.

I think I might abandon any notion of playing defensively and see if I can win so games purely by scoring. It can't be much worse than I'm doing. Right?
