I'd say Mike Babcock doesn't want a d-man who can be a defensive liability by trying something special. That's why Subban got snubbed again?

Yeah, that's most likely the reason, and i do understand it... I just don't agree with it, in a tournament this short you should go with the best players imo, i also don't think Pietrangelo is good enough to be in the squad so there is that.nino33 wrote:Familiarity with playing style might have a lot to do with it, especially relevant given it's a short tournament...my understanding is Bouwmeester has played together with Pietrangelo for the last four years and they were a pairing when Canada won gold in SochiPeter_Doherty wrote:I think it's kind of dumb that Team Canada is SO obsessed with LHD/RHD while at the same time they have 12C and one actual winger on the team. And even if they REALLY wanted another LHD, why not take Giordano, Brodie or Campbell who are actually really good D-men instead of a rapidly declining J-Bouw whose game isn't up to scratch anymore. His underlying numbers are way below average for a 1st pairing guy.

Great! I'm gonna read it again before I got to sleep.Alessandro wrote:Sorry if I post again, but I think this is the best article I have translated this year, I think it's even better than Kasparaitis. Hockey Family Tales: Artemi Panarin.

Nothing to apologize for!
Nothing wrong with that.Alessandro wrote:I just don't want to turn the thread in shameless self-promoting
I agree On my Kindle Fire, in bed, right before I go to sleep, using Flipboard is when I do most of my non-book reading anymore. I read loads of articles. I have 3 hockey feeds I read, along with 2 history, 2 gaming, and then more fun things like io9, Cracked, etc. It really is a good way to wind down before sleep. You just have to make sure you close it 5-10 min. to rest your eyes before you actually want to go to sleep or else the screen does bad things to your eyes.Alessandro wrote:Before going to sleep is the best time for reading.
Just use a Kindle instead of a FirePrimis wrote: You just have to make sure you close it 5-10 min. to rest your eyes before you actually want to go to sleep or else the screen does bad things to your eyes.
Yes he has been declining but still 1 mil.. that's like a free deal.Peter_Doherty wrote:I dno about steal, he has been pretty much awful for the last 3 years, maybe he's just been overmatched as a top-4 D-man but i dno, think he's pretty much done honestly. It's possible he can be a decent 3rd pairing guy with sheltered minutes though, for $1m it's no real risk to it though.
He's been struggling with injuries over the last couple seasons. He was really good before that.Peter_Doherty wrote:I dno about steal, he has been pretty much awful for the last 3 years, maybe he's just been overmatched as a top-4 D-man but i dno, think he's pretty much done honestly. Yeah, he used to be good, but age and injuries has made his decline pretty steep.bruins72 wrote:He's been struggling with injuries over the last couple seasons. Haha!Peter_Doherty wrote:Luca Sbisa is on that team, right?
I know Dennis has been playing, I was asking about Sbisa.Peter_Doherty wrote:Yeah, Seidenberg has been a regular, has looked better then in Bruins the last few years, so that's something
