did anyone have problems with season 4 reporting period 3 in the excel file. I'm having to figure everything by hand because it came up with different numbers and I know they aren't right.

Ok this is strange indeed I just noticed it also has things in it for reporting period 4 (not the usual negative numbers, these are positive) and I haven't put anything at all there.

Ok I figured out what was going on. I just now noticed that it took the season 3 numbers and put them in for season 4. So I need to go and figure everything for season 4. What should I do about the first 2 recordings since that would mean those numbers are wrong since I just now noticed the discrepancy?

There was actually a fixed version of the spreadsheet released. Somebody noticed it a while back and I corrected my mistakes (I totally spaced when making the spreadsheet and didn't have season 4 linking properly). You should download the corrected version and just copy and paste your data into that one.
Which posts in the stats recording thread are wrong? I can delete the ones that were mis-reported because of the spreadsheet issue. Then you can re-post them with the correct info. If everything over there is correct, you'll probably just want to re-post your games 21-40 data in the stats recording thread so Calv can find it when he logs the data.

The next deadline should be some time next week, I'll decide when I get back to my place this weekend

Season 4 over... with a loss against the Flyers in Finals

Well, mostly against Tasku's best friend: Niittymäki

(am i the only one able to spell it properly?

). Hossa has been surprisingly brutal in the playoffs, ending with a 10 games scoreless streak

No matter if he played with Malkin or Lecavalier, no matter if he was on the first or the second line, no matter his powerplay time, he just didn't want to beat Biron (Conf. Finals vs Kings) and Niittymäki. But he was no alone to underperform, as the top half of the team seemed disinterested by what was happening on the ice. Some asses will be kicked off during the off-season! Lecavalier was my only top player playing at his level of play... but he was injured twice in the playoffs, and missed the first 2 games of the Finals, where we've been totally transparent and therefore demolished. Small consolation, we won the President's Trophy
So now i've won the Cup in seasons 1 and 3, while the Flyers won in seasons 2 and 4... Should be my turn again for season 5

It's the first set I believe on page 27. the new ones that are on the last page are correct.

Okay, I deleted the post for Season 4 Games 1-20 on page 27. You should be fine otherwise?
Please make sure to download the new version of the stat tracking spreadsheet.

Ok got the new one downloaded and am switching over the info now. Bruins can you also delete the 9.4 21-40 one on page 27 of mine, thank you in advanced. Should be uploading the 9.4 41-60 in a couple minutes.

Deleted that one for you. All set?

Yes, thank you. BTW has anybody noticed how much of a beast Gagner is in the AHL. I sent him there since I didn't want him wasting away on my 4th line. He put up 102 points in 53 games so far.

Nice! I didn't draft him but I've noticed a few guys that really do well in the AHL. As a matter of fact, there are a few guys that are killer in the AHL but never quite take off in the NHL. I like that about the game because it mimics real life.

I actually didn't draft him either, I got him in a fluke thing where Tampa drafted him and didn't sign him. When their rights expired I scooped him up. Only offseason signing I made and he appears to be a good one. My scouts project him to be a lock for my 2nd line.

It's actually not so much of a "fluke". Teams are always letting top prospects go free. I think a couple folks in the challenge got Price that way. That's how I got Esposito. There are others that it's happened with to.

Yeah, it's not rare to see top prospects ending unsigned by their NHL team. It also seems that the AI sometimes has troubles handling the salary cap, resulting in big names being waved and sent to AHL, with no-one able to claim them. That's how i've seen Jay McKee, Christian Huselius, Brian Rolston, Daniel Briere or Teemu Selänne being waived, clearing waivers, and playing all season long in the AHL.
I recently picked Janne Niinimaa off waivers this way. I don't have the cap room either to make him play for me, so i waived him too. I think he'll teach tons of things to Ben Shutron

The kid is already barely ready to play in the big league, but i'll give him 2 more AHL seasons before making him my HG in season 7 (after Tavares in season 6). He should be a monster ready to contribute once Scott Niedermayer will retire

Hey Calv, what is the 17th of January for? I would assume its for something in season 4, but not sure which reporting period.

Season 7
I really liked Havlat but since this is the last season i decided to change things around and trade him for Lupul but...
Logan Couture & other couple of guy get pretty anger and demanded to be traded too '' so...
This i'll be the rookie's season (7 total) plus Kovalchuk, Thorton, Phaneuf. Maybe not my best performance but i'll give it a try. ':-?'

I ended up trading Havlat in the offseason after the 4th season because I couldn't afford him anymore. I think I got decent return I got the Rangers 1st from the draft for that year and the following years draft. By getting rid of Havlat and Kukkonen I was able to keep the rest of the team in tact. This is what the lineup is going to look like assuming I can't work out a deal to sign Luongo and deal Toivenen for picks. (Toivenen's contract is more than Luongo is asking for with 2 teams already giving up on him. )
Heatley Toews Ruutu
Bourque Richardson Vrbata
Boogaard Blunden Skille
Zachej.. Bolland Istomin
Redden Seabrook
Barker Morrissonn
Regen guy Shutron.
Toivenen/Luongo
Price
Homegrown will either be Shutron or Skille depending on how they do in camp but more likely Skille.
BTW are any of you guys good at figuring out who the regens are cause I can't figure out who this guy is but he was touted much higher than the Hasek one?

ugh my last reporting period for 4 was awful except the playoffs. I played without my top line for a lot of it. I ended up putting everyone on rest because of injuries.

Heh. I had no idea I had recorded those stats. Anyway..I have jumped back in and will get my 60 game stats up soon. I really have little time nowadays with extremely active kids and the job stuff I am doing. But...I will try and finish up this challenge.
