I think these leagues leave in a few of these guys like Jagr to punish people for not pre-ranking or live drafting.
I kind of wish I had drafted another goalie. Having 3 puts you in a position of power.

Oh, then I should have a nice position as I got 4.

wow 4
ok but conklin won't see much icetime this year, also norrena (3rd G behind leclaire and mason).
trade talks with "cranky hockey dad" heat up.
he doesn't give me what i want.
now he even wants more. in my opinion the talks go the wrong way.....

I loved the reaction of everyone in the draft. Waiting for Archies autopick to inevitably draft Crosby 3rd overall. But No! Archie takes the headlines. Love it!

I am tryig Devils, but you make no sense. First you want A for B, then you want C,D,E for X. I be lost!!!!
Anyway...still working at it. Took a break from *)$&#@&$&$&()&# at you, and now trying again.
And Tasku....if you want to deal 1 of your 4 Orange things that can't move...and have cars get past them, make me an offer, I may just bite, cause well...D88 is making me nuts.
Edit: Oops that would be JoeHelmer with 4. I read the avatar wrong.

First of all, Devils, Mason plays for the Blues.
Secondly, I have MAF, DiPietro and Mason, if anyone is feeling a need for a goalie.

Sounds like you guys are EHM-ing it.

No but someone out there tried to EHM me...
I will give you 5 benchwarmers (2 of whome won't play in the league ever, never mind this year) for that 15 time all star centre
When I put Sakic on the block I was not expecting AI to respond to me. I am willing to move him if I deem someone's goalie or defense to be acceptable. But not just for anyone.
Of course, others think I was trying to rip them off. When really I was just enquiring, hoping for negotiations.
And then there is someone who said yes right away.
And then there is someone who told me off.

But meh, I knew trying to get Mike Green for a bucket of pucks would not work, was hoping for negotiation, but not to happen.
So yeah. I am actively seeking trades and anyone who can come up with something decent that gets me a goalie or top 2 dman...let me know.
ALSO. just a note...there is a box top right on ESPN page where you need to go to approve/decline other people's trades. Appears 11 votes needed to pass.

Actually, it's 11 votes to
veto a trade.
That's there so the rest of the league can override a trade if they feel the two sides are trying to stack one another's team; Or "collusion" as ESPN calls it. If the required "objection votes" aren't reached within the 48 hour trade review period(which starts after the trade is accepted), then the trade will be officially processed.

Heh I made the assumption Crosby would go in the first pick so didn't bother ranking him right at the top. Looking back, it wouldn't have done any harm to have him at the top even if someone beat me to it. A bit of a rookie mistake! Hopefully my moment of madness will prove to be a moment of genius by the end of the season
I love D88 and Batdad's trade negotiations

Uups.
Steve Mason is playing for CBS, Chris Mason is in STL.
Sorry for that, but batdad is giving me headache
Now he want a Starting Goalie and a No.2 defenseman for injury prone B-Amour and 2 players who can't even skate.
Daddy, if you want good players you have to give up some good in return.
who is ehm-ing whom now......
but anyway, negotiating is very funny. love it

I've been offered a fairly good deal for G Mike Smith. If anyone else is interested they better act soon! He is available. I'm not looking for anything in perticular, just an overall upgrade to my team

Puuuuh!
after many offers and couter offers the fog devils and "real and only" devils made a trade.
some people here thought this will never happen (so did i), but at least we both sacrified a little more and got it done.
the first five player swap in the MMC-League:
FERNIE FOG DEVILS get:
Peter Budaj (G)
Adrian Aucoin (D)
Ryan Clowe (F)
VIENNA DEVILS get:
Rod Brind'Amour (F)
Vadim Vrbata (F)
Time will tell who got the better end of this deal.

You did if Brind'Amour is healthy. I did if he is not.

Lidas, I think we've got a deal.
I was really hesitant, because I'm perfectly happy with my goaltending... but I felt pretty guilty every time I looked at your so-called "goaltenders". So I had to go for it out of fairness.

What a nice mod you are.

Such a gift...the Laffs starting loser.

At least you onlt got a Newfie for him. Mind you, he is the only Newfie player to hoist the Stanley Cup.

Best news EVER. Krapibhulin is done as a Hawk. Now my computer pick of Niemi in Chicago looks decent. At least now...backup goalie. And Huet goes down, and the hottest little Finnish goalie in the world gets to play starter for me.
With my just concluded Budaj deal, and Nittymaki, I am all of a sudden feeling good about my goalies.
Defense:
Barker, Bergeron, Bieksa, Hainsey,Sekera, and Augroin...not so sure.
F:
Vincent, Joe, Joe, Paul Stastny,Bernier, Stoll, Slava Kozlov, Turris, Stafford, Sheppard. Me happy.

Well, I was gonna reject it without a second thought, but mathematically there's only room for 30 real starters in the NHL and we've got a minimum of 40 goalie spots in our league. So, having two sure starters and one regular backup would be a bit greedy of me.

Does that make it greedy of me, too?

Not if you don't think so. Here's how it breaks down, kind of:
Ten of us will have a real starter as our starter, and one real backup as our backup. The other ten will have a real starter as our starter, and a real starter as our backup. So essentially, half of us will have the luxury of two real starters on our team, and the rest will have to settle for a starter and a backup. ...Which I'm now wondering if that's a bad thing...

Meh...by the end of the year I will either have
Three starters or three guys not in the NHL
Nittymaki
Budaj
Niemi (I betcha he takes over from Huet)

I'm just kind of thinking out-loud here...
...but if anyone sees my above post leading to a goalie situation for our league, it can be fixed at the cost of a small "down-time".
My thought was that if it has the potential to be a big handicap for those who have one starter and one backup versus those who have two guys starting every night, I could always "reset" our draft to unlock the roster settings. I could then re-do the slots accordingly(1 starting goalie per team, with up to one on the bench), and maybe even throw in a simple IR slot while I'm at it. Then our "re-do draft" would simply be an 'offline draft' where I submit our rosters using the exact rosters we have now(but dropping everyone's worst goalie if they have more than two right now)... so it'd all end up being the same as it is now, except with a more level playing field for goalies.
Or, if no one thinks it'll be a problem, I can stop thinking and just look forward to the start of the season.
