A plane carrying the entire (apparently) KHL team of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl has crashed. Early reports say 36 of 37 dead. Plenty of former NHLers as well as prospects and national team players from all over Europe on that team, no names confirmed yet though.

Yes, they are certainly decent, and on second thought, I like them (except the logo, which I still dislike) - but there's a little something that isn't "Jets" enough about them - I really feel they lack some red. Had the shoulder stripes on the white jersey been bordered by red stripes, it'd have been perfect IMO.
But the military connection still really annoys me, though. Yes that's where you usually find jets, but that's a hockey team - leave non-hockey things out of it
This whole thing almost had a propaganda feel that is not appropriate. The Blue Jackets, whose name comes from the US Civil War, did not feel the need to elaborate such a scenario with the US Army or even people dressed as the blue jackets did back in the days even though they could. Winnipeg could, and IMO should, have avoided that.

The colors are cool I like them. It's the logo that I don't like much. Both together make an "ok" uniform. I don't think though there's a military attachment to it. They put a jet because well, the team is name the Jets and probably want to remember the old logo a little bit. What makes it over the top to me is the huge leaf behind the jet, that makes it way more an attachment to Canada than the army itself.
Edit: YZG, sorry I just read in the newspaper that they really wanted the jersey to be inspired by the Air Force.

Totally agree. All of a sudden they feel so much connected to the military, this is just grotesque.
I liked the old jerseys a lot, the new design looks plain boring.

Mike Modano signed a 1 day contract to finish his career with Dallas. I like that deal! I was dissapointed when he announced his retirement last week as an UFA.

I don't know if he's just trying to look good but Shanahan is on fire so far with suspensions. I hope he will keep up the pace.

And now Brodeur is whining that Shanahan impose to much suspensions. He says it make look the league bad and it's only the pre-season games. I don't know on what planet Brodeur is but his whining is pathetic. I don't care if the NHL look worse than already with those suspensions. They are needed.

Yeah I laugh about too. It's sad that he is on the waivers though, first I heard his contract got buy-out by the Rags.
