I think that's a good way of setting the time of a challenge, setting end date at 2 months right away seems too long, 1 month with a poll to extend is a great way of doing it. Maybe extend it by 2 weeks then another poll etc?

Not sure it's coded that well, noticed now that Tampa got 1st overall in my game aswell with the Philly pick :P

That has NOTHING to do with coding. Where did Philly finish? Pretty dang close to bottom. They have pretty good odds of winning it I believe. Right B72?

And yes on month end date is good.

And no my power play sucks. AS ALWAYS. Only thing that is true to my game. BAd PP. (yes Bruins you get another toilet giggle)

Sometimes things work differently in different games. That is the whole idea of the challenge. Players are valued differently in different games, plus maybe he had more value ascribed to his guys, and maybe got lucky on the right day at the right time for his game.

OH..real life story.

I looked at a box score last night and laughed myself silly.

Goal scorers in the box score: Bartschi, Bartschi, Bartschi, Conacher. ...Took a sec to register that was UTICA COMETS in real life vs GRAND RAPIDS. :-D

Think Philly was 7th from the bottom, so not great odds at all... I know that the draft lottery was broken before in EHM:EA atleast, maybe it has been patched though? haven't read through the last few patch notes well.

My PP sucks aswell, i changed a few things and it got better but i doubt it will stick :P

The Flyers finished 12th in the East. So I'd guess that they had a fair bit of luck, just as radiskull did when his Canucks won the lottery. In the real life NHL they've changed the way the lottery works so that all non-playoff teams have "a chance" of picking #1 overall. IIRC, where the Bruins finished in the rankings they had a 1% chance of getting #1 overall.

My PP was usually pretty good in EHM2007 but I'm still struggling to perform well in EHM:EA.

One thing I can say makes a difference in player value is what you have their role listed as and whether you are putting them on the block, if they've requested a trade, or if their status isn't declared. If you said they weren't needed and made them available, you're not going to get as much for them.

I'm in last place in the West at the 38 game mark with only 9 wins. I get my Board Confidence Update and they say that they're "Generally Satisfied" with my performance and that I have their "Total Confidence and Support". Of course, the fans want me fired.

:-?

Apologies if someone's asked this already, but I didn't see it. Are we allowed to submit offer sheets to RFAs? I have 2 big name players who haven't signed with their respective teams and I can likely get both players for a 2nd and a 3rd. :) I saw the rules about no UFAs, but...

Nope. No RFAs from other teams. You're only allowed to sign your own players.

Haven't read but i would assume that we can't sign players on offer sheets.

Yeah the Flyers got lucky I guess. Well Tampa Bay did. I knew the lottery gives all non playoff teams a chance, which is why I posted about it. With the number of guys playing this challenge I figured we would see a few long shots. My lottery was won by the Flyers as well. I am guessing though that Phoenix won a fair number of lotteries.

We should have everyone post who won the lottery in their game? Maybe a poll. That would give Riz some good feedback. Think I will start one

So you know how people say Linden Vey sucks? Well he does, BUT....and this is a big but...Kardashian sized....

My power play points leaders

1. Vey 4
2. Jensen 4
3. Bartschi 4
4. Bonino 3
5 Trouba 3

My POWER PLAY SUCKS. 10 goals in 23 games. Nelson has 1 PP point, Morin has zero (guy scored 20 in CBJ last year and has 1 in 22 games for me), Conacher has 2. Ugh.

This team is terrible, but in the last 3 games

Vancouver 4 Minnesota 1 ( 2 EN goals)
Vancouver 3 Columbus 1 (EN goal)
Vancouver 2 Los Angeles 1

So my defense and goaltending have been awesome. Outshot 48-22 by LA. 19-3 in first period and I was leading 1-0.

Finally I did all the trades and drafting. I guess I spent a whole day trying to min-max as much as I could. :) And I love min-maxing.) I think I did really well in getting max value and balance for my roster. At least I'm happy about this.
Only three trades! (Yes, guys, I think it's better to package 2-4 players together. But it's pain to find a team who has several players that you need for your roster)
Image
Last trade was a little crazy.) I've been tinkering those draft picks a lot.

As far as draft goes... well, you know. McDavid for the win. :)

LOL at those trades.

So....things are really good for me. Sbisa gets injured for two weeks. I call up Grenier (I had 8 d in my lineup as all but Clendenning were waiver eligible, and I felt like keeping him)

In his second game? --- Freaking hat trick on fourth line to start game and third line in third period. Wow.

Beat Calgary 6-3 (2 empty netters again)

My line up right now

IR-Sbisa, Matthias

Conacher-Bonino-Jensen
Bartschi-Nelson-Kassian
Kenins-Scheifele-Morin
McMillan-Vey-Grenier
Dorsett-O'Reilly

Dillon-Trouba
Stanton-Tanev
Clendenning-Sanguinetti
Weber

Lack
Markstrom

To be tradeable in season 2 the players must be 28 or older by the start of the 2016-2017 season. You can start trading them on June 15th.
