Tasku - I obviously don't, i'm just saying that it was posted with a name on a victims livejournal site, you made it seem as if it was posted anonymously on imgur, that's not the case.

Re: Official NHL Season 2015-2016 Thread
I don't know what site it originally came from, but since it's now on imgur, it must've been something also available for the public to view. By anonymous I refer to the internet in general. There's no place online where that is not possible and quite easy to accomplish.
Sure, it could be a true story, but I'm skeptical. The style it was written, the events, none of it seems genuine to me. Add to that my already skeptical attitude towards all that is online. She should go to the police, is what I'm saying. Sharing stuff, that may be constructed for other motives, can be equally harmful. There's millions of examples of it online and in the social media.

Re: Official NHL Season 2015-2016 Thread
Personally i thought it was written in a style that i found believable, i get your point and ofcourse it might be fake, but given Kanes history and the way it was written and where it was written, i believe it. Can there be that much smoke without a fire? I doubt it.
Sharing experiences like some kind of abuse is often easier to do in a support group or a forum like victims journal before you go to the police aswell since most people tend to feel ashamed after being victims of sexual abuse.
This won't go anywhere though since it's only speculation at this point, i'll just finish with this. If he's guilty i hope he gets convicted.

That is indeed true, and you may be right. But we will never know, and all we are left is to form an opinion based on what is given to us.

And in most cases...almost all... you couldn't remember those details that accurately and specific. So.. it sounds like a story made up in my ears.

Re: Official NHL Season 2015-2016 Thread
The more I think about it, the more I don't think it really happened. LA, near Staples Center, after a hockey game, popular among the players. In my experience bar bathrooms, even in towns way smaller than LA, are like the Grand Central Station at rush hour. Girls gossiping, improving their make-up, planning escape from a bad date... Patrick Kane suddenly marching in to grope a girl would've been noticed. Also, no dates, times, places specified.
Well... I'm not really arguing this anymore, I'm just pretty confident this is a fabrication.

Only a Finnish small town bar restroom would be that empty.Tasku wrote:The more I think about it, the more I don't think it really happened. Read top comment.
https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comment ... legations/
Based on the facts of Hawks plane the story is either
1) Wrong about the date
2) A lie.
In november 2014 the hawks flew out of LA after the game. Kane did not go to a bar after that game or have a "room"

To me it looks like he's super groggy and probably concussed and don't know who or what he's hitting. It's a good thing the NHL have concussion spotters this season so he didn't play another shift after............... oh wait, he finished the game because the concussion spotters do NOTHING.

Sorry,,,no excuse. Automatic 20 games as a starter...Colin Campbell review. He lies in his press discussion saying his head was down and he looked up at last second. Yeah....looked up and raised his stick and hit him. Sure..... He is looking at the linesman the whole way. In other news....Milan Lucic punched a linesman last night. Okay that one was accidental, he missed the guy he was trying to hit and the striped on was right behind him.

batdad - He did hit his head just before though and looked groggy when he came up, i think he was just really groggy and saw something come at him and reacted like that. I might be wrong but that's what i think happened and i hope he doesn't get a long suspension.
Also, Colin Campbell is a joke, a shame for the entire NHL.

Kinda looks intentional, but then again you can't see where his eyes are pointed at at the time of the hit. Might've been looking somewhere else and reacted, like Pete said. But who knows.

I have no doubts that he meant to hit him, i do however think he was groggy from his head hitting the boards 5 seconds earlier so he didn't know WHO he hit, that's my take on it atleast.Tasku wrote:Kinda looks intentional, but then again you can't see where his eyes are pointed at at the time of the hit. Re: Official NHL Season 2015-2016 Thread
This groggy stuff. Sorry, but I have had
Grogginess, concussion....and eyes watering from all of them, and gone after the player that hit me. I knew the difference between the player and the official.
This stuff...making excuses for him...if he was groggy/concussed whatever...and in the modern day...THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE here....you should not be back on the ice and not miss a shift....if there is ANY sign of grogginess. So..
1. Wideman should be suspended...10 games minimum for incidental, and quite honestly I do not believe incidental..so 20 minimum,
2. The NHL if this groggy garbage is allowed as an excuse...which some purport it is...will be in HUGE HUGE trouble in their concussion lawsuit.
3. If the groggy rubbish is used as an excuse Bob Hartley and the assistant coaches of the Calgary team should be suspended indefinitely, for not following the proper mandated protocol.
In other words, if Wideman gets off the hook here....then someone has to pay the piper...either the NHL or the Flames brass. or BOTH.
THat linesman was in the hospital, and is injured.
Sorry...not that that matters...even if not injured Wideman has hung the NHL out to dry, and so have Flames coaches if the EXCUSE is allowed.
Plus ...WIDEMAN LIED!!!! HE says had head down and looked up and there he was and I could not get out of the way in time.
1. He had time to raise his stick and push him with it in cross check fashion.
Which means
2. He had time to yell ... look out and
3. He had time to slow the heck down, which he did not.
If this were a player he hit...he WOULD be suspended. NO QUESTION> instead it is an official....which is WORSE.....so .....
I just cannot contemplate these people out there (not saying you Peter, as you are just stating what you are hearing as am I) giving him excuses. THere are none. WIdeman should get min 10 games.
NHL Is up the creek....
Oh and BTW--Wideman to my knowledge DID NOT SAY...he was groggy. He cannot! Why? LAWSUIT, FLAMES in doo doo with league and outside the league....
Officials union should walk off the job if at least the 10 games is not given.

Re: Official NHL Season 2015-2016 Thread
I don't agree with you on most of this, i have a very different view then you on this matter.
"This stuff...making excuses for him...if he was groggy/concussed whatever...and in the modern day...THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE here....you should not be back on the ice and not miss a shift....if there is ANY sign of grogginess. So.."
How many cases have we not seen this year where players keep on playing even when they shouldn't it's nothing rare. Take Ekblad for example, missed several games after that hit, finished the game. Teams will always do whatever they can to get the players back on the ice, and the players will play if they are able to. That's why the concussion spotters need to have the mandate to actually remove players from the game, which they don't right now. In the NFL the concussion spotters have medical education and have the mandate to remove players from the game, the NHL needs that too.
Whatever happens to Wideman i hope this raises the questions about the concussion spotters no matter what and that changes will be made for next season (or earlier if possible) so that there are REAL concussion spotters in every game. This whole thing where players finish the game after serious hits to the head has to stop.

He's suspended until they have a hearing next week, it's just a formality since there are no games right now.

Well John Scott had fun this week-end! Even though the situation that lead him there was completely ridiculous, I'm happy that the guy had so much fun and even the other players looked like they enjoyed it with him.
I never had a high opinion about the guy (especially with his slashing on Kessel couple of years ago) but he really seem like a nice guy afterall. I wonder now if the Habs are going to bring him up.
He can't be worst than the rest of the team now!

The new "NHL.com" site looks really... can't even describe it. Looks like a homepage made by an amateur, really ugly imo. Full of boxes like a Windows product.
And now they got rid of the NHL highlights which I watched daily. Now they just show a fast recap of all the goal and that's it. Makes me angry...](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)

Yeah, NHL.com is so bad right now, hopefully they will fix it.
John Scott made the All Star game fun again, i loved watching it this year.
