Is the United Hockey League going to be renamed the International Hockey League in this update?

I don't think so. The reason being is League renaming seems to be causing errors. At least reports of that have been seen in other areas of this site and SI forums. (I don't know personally, because I do not edit the game myself, and have not tried league rename updates)

However, I could stand corrected, depending on what the others do.

So No, but maybe yes. :-?

What about Chistov? The current TBL update has him as a UFA, IIRC. Technically, his rights are still with the Boston Bruins. In fact, he's suspended by the team because he is under contract to the Bruins and chose to play over in Russia or Europe or something.

Indeed he does have rights with Boston, and he has played in Russia this year, with Salavat Yulaev Ufa (sp?). But since the start of February he has been released by them, and Boston haven't taken him back. So know one knows whats happening with him at the moment. :dunno:

These borderline Russians are tough to handle...

Kasparaitis
Grigorenko
.
.
.
and also many other Europeans who were signed to contracts, but didnt make the team and went back to their home countries to play instead of AHL/ECHL.

What do you think is the best way to handle them?

I see two different approaches:

-Contracted by NHL-team, but loaned out to Europe.
PRO: Counts towards NHL-team's budget
CON: Doesnt count towards EUR-team's budget

-Not contracted, but rights remaining.
PRO: Counts towards EUR-team's budget
CON: Doesnt counts towards NHL-team's budget

Which option do you like the best?
Other suggestions? :dunno:

If I'm not mistaken the Bruins took him back and waived him right away to assign him to Providence, so you might wanna wait whether someone claims him or not.

Well, we're not going to re-update the NHL now, because with the leagues we're still supposed to be updating there's no time to go back to the NHL, if we want them done before summer. Moving Chistov's rights to Boston was just to fix a mistake made on the earlier version...

I'm not going to sit around NHL transfer news for Chistov, not while I have the Finnish, AHL and ECHL updates to worry about at the same time. If I do that, I'd have to do it for every team and move a whole bunch of waives / trades from the ongoing season, and that would be a whole new project.

Not right now atleast...

Just curious on the ECHL update, are the Phoenix Roadrunners going to become an affiliate of San Jose and Worcester? and lose their coyote ones?

I don't know. I haven't looked into it yet. Still doing Finland. But I'll do my best at making it as current as possible with the restrictions, set by the game in terms of teams per league etc, in mind.

I just tested it and it's working fine for me. Have you got an ad-blocker or firewall that could be interfering? Try this download link: http://files.filefront.com/TBL+Roster+U ... einfo.html

The next release of the database will be coming after Tasku updates Finland. If you are talking about a post deadline day d-base...no there will not be as far as I know.

As with last season, it will absolutely destroy the cap structure of the game. So no. If you want to you can do it on your own with the editor.

Yeah well, I can help with correct team names and colors, not rosters...but the problem is that the slovakian elite league has now 12 teams, 11 regular + Slovakian U-20...but I can help.

Are the rosters for the UHL(IHL) going to be updated? I've played some of the most resent and the Port Huron Icehawks are still the flags and the rosters arn't really up to date for most teams. Maybe I missed an different database

There have been changes in other leagues too, but we just have to update the best we can within the limitations of the editor. If you want, I can try to change some of the team names, if you list them here, and they may be updated on the next release.

I say "may be" because lately I've had some trouble trying to rename Finnish teams, and I can't guarantee I can change all the Slovakian team names to current either.

Spacey, I'm sorry, I can't remember right now. As far as I can recall we had Icos and Thunderbug still waiting for their turn after me, and I can't remember which league Thunderbug was supposed to update.

Maybe you guys could refresh my memory and check in this thread, and if you're no longer interested or have no time for it, then let us know, okay? And if I'm forgetting someone, please do the same.

It's obvious that some of them may or may not have time to get released before the end of the season, but even if the real hockey world stops for the summer, we don't have to right? ;)

If I remember right, I could edit all the team names, so yay. I could work on second league and third league too and juniors as well. I did it once, can do it twice.

About the rosters - well...If i find any good source listing all the rosters, and financial aspects, I can.

Yeah, it sholdn't be a problem, but for some reason it has now been a problem when I try to edit certain team names. It gives an error when I try to start new game with the database. Dunno why. :dunno:

If you want to do Slovakia you'd prolly have to wait a while though. Like I said we have atleast two people in line after me, and they've been waiting since this project started, so... slowly but surely we'll get them done. :-)

Just to let everyone know: I have decided not to apply correct team player budgets to Finnish SM-liiga and Mestis teams, because real SM-liiga budgets and wages seem to be considerably higher than those in the game. If I was to force this change into the game it might result in teams running into financial difficulties or significant drop in player budget on the following years, as I can not edit other aspects in their finances; for example TV-revenue, sponsor income or gate receipts.

Also the editor will not allow me to have correct player budget with out editing player wages as well, and even then total player salaries must be significantly over the budget for the player budget to represent real life numbers.
