Pre-game editor inflating stats?

I know the inflated stats has been the topic of a few threads here but I've seen some guys say that they see more realistic numbers at the end of the season, like around 10-15 ppg players, where others have over 50 players with 82+ points. I'm curious if any of you who get the more realistic stats use a pregame editor. I use one but it's mainly to lower the point totals of the overachievers and ironically enough my point totals are still abnormally high. I wonder if the editor is responsible for this.

Also, does anybody notice an usually high frequency of blockbuster trades in the weeks before the trading deadline?

p.s. I'm using the 3.0.4 patch.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Merging this into the pre-game editor thread. This didn't need it's own thread. Please use the exiting thread if there is already one on that subject. - B72

yeah we all have those problems but its not caused by the editor. It's just the game engine. However, if you create several star players in the pre-game or saved-game editor it will make it even worse; when those players retire, they will have a regen who performs very similar to them.

http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... php?t=3569

I tried to explain there how i "fixed" it. (By editing almost all the players, making big changes in thier overalls and potential) which actually works quite well. There were a couple problems i discovered which don't really bother myself but may bother others:

Since i lowered the players an actual "star" reputation is alot more rare. Instead of having 12-15 (forwards) there are about 4-5 (forwards) which i don't nessisarly look at as a issue, but some might.

Another issue is that the goalies stats are alot better then they should be but, IMO still better then 15-20 players getting 100plus points and 60 gettting more then a point per game.

I am happy with the total goals, assists, points, ppg, ppa, pim etc.

Perhaps you should try doing that. Takes alot of editing though.

i have a problem not sure if it`s the editor or the game itself but my edits are not showing up.

i edited by moving a few unsigned staff that i normally sign to my team they showed up then when i went back to move the others they don`t show up and i also move Frogren,Artyukin,2 other players to my team and they don`t show up either.

what could the issue be and how could i fix it.

If you move players who didn't already hit UFA status (younger players like your Frogren and Artyukin)
you would also have to move their rights with the editor to the new team.:tiptap:
When i use the editor to move players i always move their rights, too, no matter what age they are, just to be on the safe side. ;)

Make sure you edit the database that you want to use in the game.
If you use the pre game editor the changes will only take effect when you start a new game. :-)

You could try to edit something manually like the salary cap in the "extra_config.cfg" and then load a new game and see if the manual change takes effect. If it does then we know that there is a problem with the editor. :-k

how do i do that

Go into the database folder of EHM and you can just open the extra_config file with an text editor like notepad.

Correction: You can edit something in the extra_config.cfg but for salary cap you would need to change the file called "transfer_rules_config.cfg"!!!

Is there a way of adding the "player info" tab to players who are missing histories?

I want to add number of NHL games played for players who are no longer rookies in NHL, but when I came to Patrick Kane, I noticed that he doesnt have that tab, and thus I cant add any NHL games to his record.

Interesting question Lidas, since you said it, i checked, and i have only just noticed this myself. Some players have the tab, others don't. I think the best bet would be to ask the man (i don't know his name), who created the editor, from SI, over on their boards.

Although my initial thought would that it can't be done.

I'll take a look next week and see if this is possible - i am sure it should be.

I know this site doesn't support the pre-game editor, but with Eastside-UK down, does anybody know where to download the Editor? New comp = need
