Thanks! Who knows?
I am kinda bummed out how slow this is progressing, but at the same time, like I mentioned before, it does have a regular spot in my weekly schedule, so the progress may be slow, but it is also constant. I'm not sure I can devote any more time to it than what I'm currently investing on it. Other, more important projects, would suffer.

I have started a blog about me playing as my favourite team Modo Hockey, and I hope at least one person will find it interesting, I just recently started my second season and I'm planning to be a little more detailed about that and forward.
Feel free to leave feedback to me if you'd like

As usual, I read both versions. As usual, a superb read. I did spot a few grammar mistakes in the Finnish version, though.

Dammit!
Once again, it's good to know it's still being read. I personally am enjoying it too much to give up on it, but still, good to know I'm not writing it for me alone.

I love it, have it bookmarked, and regularly check back for updates. Love the way you write. Makes me want to do something similiar, but don't want to steal your idea

Thanks! Great to hear. By all means, do something similar. That would be interesting.

'Tis not even Tasku's original idea, since EHM Finland used to have quite a few player stories back in the day. So, no need to worry about "stealing".

Hey, Tasku, it was a great reading. I just found your blog today in the morning and read all seven seasons. I just love the fact you have not created a superstar winger out of Toni, but a hardworking defenceman, whose work in general get overseen so much in modern hockey.
The first few seasons reminded me so much about my own player, Jan Lehkonen, who was generated in my S-Kiekko youth system, when I started the game. He might not be as successful as Toni, but he started on the similar path - under my guidance though. He was quickly promoted to S-Kiekko senior team and now after two full senior seasons (he is yet to miss a game in his carreer) when I moved to Jokipojat, he came with me. His play in Suomi Sarja also triggered a lot of interest both from Liiga teams and NHL teams, but although ranked once during his first season, he was not drafted. Now I'm prepared to offer him a good playing time in Mestis as well and I hope he manages to secure a proper carrer in the future. I would be honoured, if once I'm listed as his favourite staff

Thanks for reading! Glad you liked it.
The fact that Toni Sainio is a hard working defensive D is more a coincidence, than my creation, really. I gave him a PA of -15, the one where the player can turn up really good or just average, and left all attributes untouched. I made him a defender, because back in EHM Finland I wrote a similar story about a forward, so I wanted something different this time, and went with a defender.

Did you give him a player role?

Nope. I'm thinking that came automatically too, because he's not what EHM 07 used to do with random players. He has the clear signs of a defensive defender: strong checking, pokecheck, positioning, work rate... In EHM 07 you'd get random attributes all around, had you created a player like I created this one. You'd have a defender with 19 deking and a 2 in positioning, stuff like that.

Tasku, I'm making my way through the Toni Sainio story...I am really enjoying it as well and hope you get to complete his career. Any chance you can share some screenshots of his career stats if you ever get back to it?

I was always unsure about screenshots, and eventually decided I would add them maybe for the tenth season, as a kind of "celebration", but then I got a real life job and have no more time for it. I will most likely get back to it in Autumn though, as then my job will end, and I'll have nothing but free time again. Unless something unexpected happens!
Nice to hear you're enjoying it. I had fun writing it!

Ah, thanks! I was pretty sure I was just writing for myself!
Part of the reason I was asking was also because Toni Sainio is 30 years old now, and at the latter part of his career (although, knowing EHM, he might go for another ten years!), and I'm thinking I might start a new story after that, maybe... Perhaps a scoring forward or a goalie this time?

I think he's 30 now and maybe you can go on for another 3-4 years, then maybe a resume for his final years. Next time, I'd go with a goalie.

By "resume" you mean like a summary? Hmm... If he declines in to a corpse, I guess that would make sense.
Yah, a goalie sounds interesting, because it's so different.

I am still reading Toni's journey, although I stopped reading both versions (for the past few updates I have only read the Finnish version).
Make an Irish goalkeeper next!

May I ask how you do that Tasku? I guess you're creating a player un the DB but after that what? You take control of the teams is in?
I like the concept of creating someone and simply follow his career.

I think he is just vacationing as unemployed. EHM Finland used to have several player stories. One even made a story from a fan's perspective.

Good to hear you're still reading. I'm also glad you're reading the Finnish version. I feel so clumsy while writing the English one.
Irish? Why Irish? I guess it would be interesting to start somewhere else than Finland. But I don't know how the junior system works there...
Edit: I get it. Irish. Was a bit slow, still yawning into my morning coffee.

Yah, I just created a player and then added him to my shortlist, and went on vacation. The problem is you don't see everything if you're not the GM of a team, but I don't want to interfere with the game world. You can see lines, but not tactics, for example. And obviously it would be cool to see team and league related news. If I'd take over a team and then just go on vacation, I would get more news, but that would interfere. A manager would get fired and all the players I've shortlisted to follow them (Sainio and pals) would have a team interested in them. So I chose to do this way.
