Wow.. in my game he's total garbage maybe a 1/2 step above limited
Anyone else have Aebischer wanting 1.6mil for one season.... even though he's only posting a 3.43 and 0.889... heck Auld signed for 3.2m over 3 years!

I got Aebs for 1.6 but his GAA and S% are a whole lot better than in your game (1.56 and .949) with about 8 shutouts.
I got Auld for $660K for 3 years and his numbers are better than Aebs.

I've got Aebischer signed for $1.4M for a one year deal. He was playing terrible for at least the first half of the season and when it came time to negotiate contracts, I had a hard enough time justifying paying him that. Now I'm thinking about giving him the chance to start in season 2.
I just looked at Skokan in my game. He's got a 1 in determination. You couldn't pay me to draft him.

I want to finish my season and get to the draft soooo bad.
Gonna have the 30th (unless Calgary passes me, only 3 pts behind) and Anaheim is likely about 15th. Really want to see what I can get out the draft.
Playing NTNB makes the draft so much more interesting. I really gotta see what I am gonna get.
I am thinking I will not pick anyone I have ever used in a challenge before. But the issue is this team needs a tough guy, and Petrecki is awesome at that. So I kind of want him, but I had him last time. So I won't take him.
No Wilson either. Turris has a 3 in speed..so won't touch him.
Skokan however...20 determination in my game. Talk about random. B72 you got screwed again. And 15 work rate.

lol 1 in determination. i think hes stats are mostly random like many players in the draft.
skokan in my game is a low 1 rounder or top 2 rounder.
skokan
petrecki is a low 2 rounder or top 3 rounder acourdning to nhl rankings for the draft.he got very weak attributes.
petrecki

Yeah, I've been getting the short end of the stick when it comes to random numbers it seems. Skokan is terrible in my game and so is Petrecki. The Bruins drafted Petricki in the 2nd round at #59 overall. He's got subpar numbers all over the place. His acceleration is a 6, his anticipation is 4, and he's only got one double digit number in the technical abilities. He's junk.

He looked like junk last challenge too. But I tried him anyway...and bang averaged 7's all the way through. Scored a bit too. It was completely a surprise.

Jeez, if he looked like that in my game, I would've drafted him. Like I said, he's junk in my game. Here's what he's looking like in September after the draft. Keep in my, this is on my home computer and I don't have the extras like facepacks installed...
Petrecki

Heh. That is exactly what he looked like when I finally took him in the 5th round last challenge. And he was enforcer maniac for me...ended up at aggression 187, strength 20 when he was 23. So he played, and did well for me.

BWAH! In my last 22 games, I scored all of 6 power play goals. (stats up when playoffs done)
In my first playoff game--I scored 3. Vrbata, Vrbata, Kaigorodov.

And now JovoCop's out for 3 weeks...oh this won't be fun. Yandle and Roche have been called up for the two injured defensemen.

Ouch again.
WHL Final for what is now IRL known as the Ed Chynoweth Cup...
Red Deer Rebels featuring their leading scorer Martin Hanzal 12-10-22
vs
Everett Silvertips featuring their leading scorer Blake Wheeler 8-8-16 and their #2 center (behind Zach Hamill) Peter Mueller 0-5-5
Wheeler went from a nothing in reg season..averaging 6.5 to the playoff average of 8.5....WOW!
Guess the WHL was the best choice for him. Mueller is just coming off an injury, and is a bit slow to get back at her.
But cool final!!!
Edit: actually when looking Mueller is playing LW on the top line with Hamill and Wheeler.
Edit 2: Langkow, Iginla and Tanguay all have points in 10 straight games now. WOW!

Hmm, games 41-60 were awful, absolutely awful.
We scored more than last season but the defence was horrible. I recently switched the positons of York and Sjöström to distribute the talent a bit between the scoring lines and sure enough the second line plays better but now the first is getting scored on alot more instead.
The only bright spot was that Kaigorodov was injured so Mueller got the chance to show me that he is NHL-ready. He is now 6+11 in 14 games with a +4 rating. He had 1+4 from 5 earlier games so he's 5+7 over 9 games this time around centering the second line and second PP.
I need to take a look at my core roster for next season but I'm thinking that resigning Reinprecht (he doesn't want to discuss terms and the default salary offer is two seasons at 5.2M) would just be holding back all the center talent moving up the ranks. I reckon Mueller, Redenbach and Pestunov will all be able to make the team next season.

Few games left in my second season....and lets put it this way.....another high draft pick

I just can't seem to find the right balance with the tactics...I've tryed changing it around numerous times...and my PP is absolutely horrible. Jovonovski is not worth the money he is being payed. In desperate need of some solid 3rd/4th liners....definately looking forward to seeing the end of Gratton, Zigomanis, Winnik, Weller, Sjostrom.
I guess I'll just keep pluggin away and developing my youngsters, hopefully soon enough...I'll be competitive, I'm confident my prospects will work out...but it will be a while before they are NHL ready.
Season 3 I am definately using Mueller, Hanzal and Wheeler...Lisin started on my second line but his goal scoring talents got him promoted to the top line and is holding his own so am very happy with him.
This NTNB thing kills me sometimes when I see some of the waivered players and some of the trades

Is Wheeler actually decent in other people's games? He looks kind of bad in mine. I'm going to sign him and maybe throw him down in the ECHL or the AHL but I really don't see much in him.

i agree with u sjarkz
the 3liners is horrible. so is the goolie and size of the starting rooster. 1 injury on top 5-6 players and problems starts.
the prospects lisin and them in my eyes are future 2nd liners. they are all offensive.
whut pho needs is hardworking 2way forwards that can play 2/3 line.

Ok so we didn't even make the playoffs this season.
I can't really see any excuse for it either since we had no major long term injuries to speak of but the 41-60 stretch clearly runined the season when compared to what we did in season one. Our special teams were far from great, we had far fewer PP opportunities and more shorthanded situations this season. We gave up 38 more goals than last season and only scored one more...
The offensive production staying the same isn't that surprising since my top two lines and the PP units were the same for most of both seasons. As for the bottom two lines though I guess I threw out the trash and replaced it with worse trash.
Carcillo is a bum for starters, he ended the season with an embarassing -23 rating and 105 penalty minutes. I'll probably kick his ass back to the farm in favor of Hanzal. Gratton tied for the league lead in penalty minutes but that's fine, he is supposed to be that guy.
Players who won't be resigned:
Reinprecht - has been very good but doesn't want a new deal and we have more talented young centers than you can shake a stick at.
Ballard - had a bad camp and hasn't done much of anything this season except for taking penalties. If I could have him for 750k or something I might have kept him but certainly not at 2M.
Fischer - has been a fringe player from the start and didn't have a good season.
Tordjman - didn't expect him to turn into anything useful and he hasn't.
Joining us in the offseason:
C Dmitri Pestunov (like Mike Ribeiro)
Was good in both camps, had a good season in Europe. Will likely battle with Redenbach for a spot on the NHL roster
G Juha Toivonen (like Manny Fernandez)
Fifth round pick in 07. Likely to play in the ECHL next season.
LD Yakov Seleznev (a bigger, better version of Chris Phillips)
First round pick in 07, had a good camp and a decent season in Europe. Likely to play in the juniors next season but might steal a NHL spot with Ballard gone.
RW/C Blake Wheeler (like Brian Willsie with a bigger frame)
Certainly doesn't look like the former first round pick he is but might become a decent depth player. Almost certainly playing in the AHL next season.
LD/RD Chris Summers (like Craig Rivet with slower stride)
Another first rounder with poor physical stats. Almost certainly playing in the AHL next season.
RW Brett MacLean (like Jonathan Cheechoo)
First round pick in 07. Will probably spend another season in juniors but with Fischer gone he has a shot at a NHL spot.
C/RW Kyle Bortis (like Mike Comrie)
Second round pick in 07. Likely to spend next season in the AHL.
