This was my best first segment so far in this challenge.
I know it's not as good as Batdad but I'm glad for this as I'm not so good at tactics.
My PP so far is at 26.2% and my PK is at 88.9%.
And on of my rookies, born in 93, is in 6th place in points for rookies, the leader is a player named Matt Hallick, that must be one of the funniest name I've seen so far in the game.
Hallick is the swedish word for pimp.
My young starting goalie, who I drafted 2008, is ranked as number 3 for the Entry Draft in 2010 and another of my other players is ranked as number 12.
Now I just hope that we can play as good as this the rest of the season too.

WOW! Those special teams are looking killer, Joe. I've been doing well with my PP in this challenge but my PK has really struggled.
So I had 5 players taken in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Yann Sauve - 1st round 3rd overall - Toronto Maple Leafs
I thought my Bruins were going to take him with the 2nd pick but they went with Cormier instead.
Pascal Amyot - 1st round 18th overall - Minnesota Wild
Bryan Barr - 2nd round 31st overall - Boston Bruins
Keven Guerette-Charland - 3rd round 69th overall - LA Kings
Tommy Tremblay - 4th round 111th overall - San Jose Sharks
I'm pretty pleased to see 5 of my players get taken in the first 4 rounds, two in the 1st round (and the 2nd rounder was the first of the 2nd round). I just wish Sauve had gone to the B's.

My PK as always is on fire. PP not too bad...so happy
After year 3 I had 4 in the draft.
Randell in 1st
Sinclari in 2nd
JC Bachelet in 3rd
Jakub Voracek (19 years) in 4th
Only Sinclair (35) and Randell (16) were ranked. randell went 6th overall to Detroit.
Just beat KGC And his Cape Breton team (he is undrafted at 20) 11-0.

KGC was drafted in the first round by Flyers, and he has also been my number one goalscorer since first segment in season 1.

Both of my two top centers is out with injuries, this second segment will not be close to be as good as the first one.

I finally had the time to get back to the challenge. Started the second season but I've lost interest in it. Don't know if I'll finish the season

My team just got ranked as number 1 in the CHL Top 10 Ranking for like the fifth week in a row.

The no trade period strikes again! I just got offered the rights to a player I wanted who was taken in the 4th round of the draft before I had the chance to get him. They wanted to trade his rights straight up for KGC, who wasn't all that special for us last year. Of course, I couldn't do it because we were in our no trade period.
Other than a very limited trading window, I've really enjoyed the QMJHL challenge. I like that we don't have to deal with finances, just the constant development of talent.

I had some time to kill and got my team running again. A weird thing though, ALL the other teams have way too many overagers on their roster. They come to the games with no more than ten skaters each and lots of scratches.
I started the season with six games on the road but won five of them!

So in season 4, I have received my 2nd and 3rd job offers.
1st offer was in season 2...Chicago fired Tallon.
2nd offer was in season 3 at the start--Red Deer Rebels, WHL
3rd offer--Flyers fire Paul Holmgren Jan 2010.
I have saved the game at this point.

Man do the Flyers look brutal. Save for goaltending with Nitty...they did not even resign Mike Richards. Nitty is gonna get dealt if I go there.
They also have no head coach.

Wow, 17 wins and 0 in Conference Rank, that's impressive!

Nice! That Philly job could be fun. I loaded up my save with the offer to take over the St Louis Blues. When you take over, they're in 9th place and have no coach. They need a total staff replacement. There really isn't anyone worth keeping. They've actually got a decent amount of talent on the team though. They've got Tkachuk, Kariya, Boyes, Brewer, Legace, Gelinas, Toivonen, Stastny (Yan), Peca, McKee, Boyle, and a few others. Of course, when I took over it was April and the trade deadline has passed but I think I can try dealing a lot of these older players for some youth and turn these guys into a powerhouse in no time.

I just received my first job offer yesterday, from the Washington Capitals, who are floundering in dead last overall. I'm not a big Caps fan, so I won't bother.
Anyways, I have two players ranked for the upcoming draft:
Sauve is 2nd (projected to go to Vancouver)
KGC is 10th (projected to go to New Jersey)
Luc Melanson is also getting over whatever has been bothering him (or whatever girl brought him to the Maury show), with 14 points in his last 22 games, 7 being goals on 69 shots. His rating is going down, slightly from 7.78 to 7.52.

So did Melanson lose the "personal issues" message?

Luc must have heard: "You are NOT the father"

On the OA- issue, Victoriaville had to forfeit a game due to not having enough players.
I'm fed up with the non-realistic thing and won't be playing the challenge no more

As for the 0 in conference rank...that is B72's fault maybe? IT does not copy over from its box for year 4. I believe I noticed Joe was in 0 position as well.
Manimal--Not sure why this happend to you. Four years in and no issues anywhere with that for me.

Batdad: LMAO.......well, it was either that or his brother was with his girlfriend and she had to tell him a secret! Either way, he is back and playing like someone possessed.
Bruins72: Yes. He still has the unhappy box next to his name and it still says that he has personal issues. I still don't understand why he still has good morale even though he has issues.
Maybe he wants to play on a line with Sparling and one of the GC boys!?

BTW---the memral cup host team does rotate.
Year 1--Vancouver Giants
Year 2--London Knights
Year 3-Rimouski Oceanic
Year 4--SPOKANE CHIEFS
So yep it changes and does not stay with the Giants. Wonder if year 5 will be London or someone else?

Try downloading that stats spreadsheet again, batdad. AFAIK, I had corrected some of those problems in another release a while back. I believe the only issues with the spreadsheet right now are related to the fact that we're doing a junior challenge and this is setup for NHL. I haven't had time to make a fixed version.
I don't know what will solve Melanson's problems, Laker. He sounds like he's just a whiner. If he plays well for you and doesn't bring down the team, I say it's best just to ignore him.

Season 4 QMJHL Playoffs...
1. Well, I actually lost 2 games this season.
2. Travis Randell, my normal stud has been a horror in the playoffs for what he should be. Not happy with him
3. Yan Sauve was signed by San Jose.
4. Matthew Stoddard was signed by Montreal.
5. San Jose immediately sent Sauve back to me (never missed a game!!)
6 Stoddard is not being sent back by Montreal.
Voracek started off gangbusters in the playoffs, 8 goals in his first 7 games. SInce then...1 (in 10 games) Ugh!
Thank god for Sinclair...but even he has slowed down. I have a rookie with 14 points though so things are not all that bad.
I think season 5 would be a long year for my team. Victoriaville looks real strong. We shall see.

I'm trying to play my 3rd season and get it finished before the deadline. I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off though. I've been very busy lately.
I'm currently 8 games in and I've got a record of 7-1-0. I'm averaging a little better than 5 GF per game and about 2 GA per game. I had about half my team missing to start the season, all at NHL camps. I was missing my top 4 defensemen, my top line, and one off my 2nd line. I still managed to only lose 1 game in that stretch. I'm also getting great goaltending out of my rookie goalie, Alexander Lee (my 2nd round pick in the last draft). He's 5-0-0 with a 1.61 GAA and .927 SV%. Barr and Sparling are my two points leaders. Barr leads the league and Sparling is only 1 point behind (despite playing 3 less games).
This season is looking good. I just hope I finish it in time!

Another Mem Cup. That makes 3, and a trip in year 1. Yann Sauve is the only guy to play in all 4 trips. Nice junior career for him.

I haven't sent in my records for the last two segments for season 4, I have them on my laptop, at the moment I'm on my parents' PC, but I will transfer them over later today.
My third segment was good, but then something happened in the last quarter and we didn't won as much as earlier, but we finished as the best team in the league and we managed to win the playoffs again for the third season in a row.
During the final, against Halifax, three out of my players were signed by their NHL-teams.
1. KGC was signed by Flyers, never sent back.
2. Amyot was signed by Thrashers, never sent back.
3. Sauvé was signed by Thrashers, never sent back.
Still, with two of my top players gone I managed to win against Halifax and also win Mem. Cup for the third year in a row.
Still no job offer from any team in NHL though.

Is it because I have swedish as nationality?

You know what...I would not be shocked if it was because you were listed as a Swede.
As for me...I have not decided yet who I am going to join. Worst NHL team, 1st to fire in 2010-11??? Or will I go join a WHL or OHL team that is at the bottom of the league?
I will start season 5 with St John but not for the challenge...just to see what happens in other leagues.
