He has been one of veeeery few bright spot for us Oilers fans. He is one of the bes (top 10) 2-way D-men in the league and Oilers would be worse without him, how now that's supposed to happen...
The Oilers are still the worst with him. :-D

The fall for Hall!

Finland played great against Germany, I'm really impressed! They looked really poised and destroyed Germany and played really a with calmness and great teamwork. I know Finland always finds a way to lose, but I got them as a candidate for gold.

My current list:
Gold: Finland
Silver: Canada
Bronze: Russia
The sad place: Czech Republic

4th line made absolutely great goal. Great puckhandling, moving to good positions, and J. Ruutu scores. It looks like it would have made Soviet Union, but it was Finland, and our 4th line. :-D

Finland top goalscorers after 2 games: Hagman, Timonen and J. Ruutu 2 goals :-p

Teemu's record is amazing =D> If you check those 36 pointers... just must say wow... Soviet Union's Valeri Kharlamov scored 36, and Selänne is now first. :-o

Stupid thing that 10 hours difference in time, it's saturday and i woke 5 hours earlier than usually. And next game is against Sweden, and it's at 7 o'clock, too. I have exam starting at 9 o'clock a.m. and it ends 12 o'clock a.m.. I have to walk to school, which takes 45 mins. I will go to 10 a.m. ;)

Sources tell TSN Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski was taken into custody on Friday night following an altercation in a Vancouver bar.

Grabovski, an injured member of the Belarussian team, was later released.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The National Hockey League is aware of the incident, however the League will not pursue anything or take any action until such time all information is in and completed by Vancouver police.

After all, JJ wins games, not that he's supposed to take out all the 70's born players. No. He wins games for us and that's enough for me.

5vs.5 has been our problem, but hopefully they will get that working.

I'm really looking forward to tonights' games. All great rivalries. CZE-RUS, CAN-USA, SWE-FIN.

I've told my girlfriend not to bother getting me to miss these games. She ws OK with that, surprisingly. She's not into sports, at all.

It is going to be a totally different game, I'd say. You'd be stupid not to watch.

On another note, tonights games are the same as the last three olympic finals;

98 CZE-RUS
02 CAN-US
06 SWE-FIN

I don't believe that Sweden has chance to win. The performances against Belarus and Germany were not convincing. Finland plays very clarified and disciplined. The Finnish staff team seems to have done a good job.

Like i said above, our biggest problem is 5vs.5 game. Hopefully Jalonen has fixed that problem.

Staff is very good, both Jukka Jalonen and Risto Dufva has won Sm-league as head coach (Jalonen in HPK at 2006, Dufva in Jyp at 2009). Timo Lehkonen won Sm-league as assistant coach in HPK at 2006.

Our powerplay has been amazing, watch out Lundqvist :-p , but Germany and Belarus aren't best teams to test how the powerplay really works.

Goalies has played well. Kipper had difficult game, only 12 shots and one allowed. But it's hard to be goaltender, when opposite shoots 2-4 times/period.

Finland is one of those teams that always looks good, but when it comes down to crunch time...cannot finish it off. They have to get 20 shots to score 1. Great hardworking team and I love to watch them play. But finishing is a problem.

Sweden has not looked good so far, but they are 2-0 which is better than Canada and Russia. Teams always have a little set back in this tournament. Sweden will be fine, as long as they are healthy. Henrik Sedin said he had a bad back just before tourney started so I am not sure Sweden is healthy.

Canada-USA. Could we actually have a complete game where no team sits 5 guys in the neutral zone for any length of time? Wow...that would be interesting.

Every team other than the USA and Canada have done this for at least a period of action in this tournament. I HATE it. It is boring dull and ridiculous. The IIHF needs to make an ILLEGAL DEFENSE rule. It kills the flow and fun of the game. Skill players get to do nothing. So annoying..makes me not want to watch.

The Czech team did it for 25 minutes vs the Slovaks.

BTW--A Canadian fan should want Russia to win today. Because if the Czechs do they have 9 points. Other possible 9 point teams--USA, Finland, Sweden.

We want Canada to be seeded as high as possible. So we want

Canada to beat USA in Regulation--
Russia to beat Czech in REgulation
Sweden and Finland--OT/Shootout does not matter which team wins. Just must go to extra time.

This would leave the standings::

Swe or Fin 8 pts
Can 8 pts
Fin or Swe 7 pts
Russia 7 pts
USA 6 pts
Czech 6
Slovakia 5
Switz 4
Belorus 3
Ger/Lat/Nor 0

This set up could give Canada 1st overall which would give them the easiest quarterfinal opponent. The top 4 ranked teams get byes to quarterfinal. 5 through 12 play a round to decide who moves to quarterfinal 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9.

It is possible for Canada to finish as high as 1st in round robin, as low as 7th I believe. Canada MUST win in regulation today.

1.Swe or Fin 8 pts
2.Can 8 pts
3.Fin or Swe 7 pts
4.Russia 7 pts
5.USA 6 pts
6.Czech 6
7.Slovakia 5
8.Switz 3
9.Belorus 3
10.Nor 1
11.Ger 0
12.Lat 0
Thats how it would look according to your hopeful predictions. Just the bottom seeds were incorrect.

I agree! Great, fast paced game thruout.

If Finland can't make it, I'll be rooting for Russia: Ovechkin, Semin, Kovalchuk, Malkin... how can you not love the Russian team!

A good game tonight between Russia and Czech Republic. Although Russia played a good third period, I'm still not impressed by them. They will get their game going though.

Forsberg and Påhlsson might be out of the Swe vs. Fin game due to Illness. Forsberg has been far from great in the two games he has played here. Then again vs. Finland it could have been a different story. Hopefully Finland wins the game, and the Swede killer Ville peltonen scores the game winning goal =p

That's how. :-p I mean, the guy's U-G-L-Y. Awesome player, though.

And it really was a great game. Now we're waiting for Canada-USA.:-D And it's the middle of the night here, and I have to get up at six. Well, whatever. Go Canada!

Only you used the word love. It didn't seem to fit here. :-D

Great game between Canada and USA so far! Impressive forechecking from both sides. I wonder what've happened if they were allowed to fight during the Olympics. :-k

Also... I've had a "few" beers so I love everything. The asphalt I fall on... I love it! :-D
