So, I'm using the 1.5 version of the CSD Patch and get a crash on 14th of february using the 13/14 start date. By reading the changelog (and this thread, for that matter) I've noticed that this was a problem on version 1.3 and earlier, but shouldn't be so anymore. The thing is, when I first created this save I did it with 1.3 - does that mean this save is screwed even though I'm now starting with the 1.5 CSD patch? If not, what might the problem be?

I'm afraid that's exactly right. The reason is that the 2013/14 season is the first time since I developed the CSD Patch where the Olympics takes place in the first season. So it wasn't until earlier last year when we discovered the bug and I figured out the fix. So unfortunately if you start a new 2013/14 game with version 1.4 or earlier, the saved game is irrecoverable even if you subsequently switch to the new version mid-way though your saved game.

rubbish. Ah well, thanks for clearing it up. Guess I'll start over again - this time with the 1.5 CSD!

So he basically had the same problem as me - CSD didn't really work/change the date by itself, I had to use ArtMoney, which worked until October 1st then crashed. Then I used CSD on that same save and got past October 1st until February 13th where it crashed again. I ran through one sim with the same parameters (starting unemployed being the only difference) up to that point, and it crashed again in February. Then I tried it your way and it appears to have worked on my first trial. I started Artmoney, started EHM (with the patch), started a new game, got to the league screen, changed the dates with Artmoney, then applied the patch again (without loading game of course), started a new game and simmed it through and my game is currently playing the olympics on February 19th. Hopefully this helps clear anything up for anyone else that had similar problems! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get through 2-3 seasons without a hitch, then I'll call this fix a permanent one

strange - it crashed again on april 14th, then i reloaded the same save with csd and i'm in the middle of may now. Hopefully I can get through this first season and i won't have to limp along the other seasons like this.

I think the ArtMoney file may need to be updated. I don't think it has the Olympics fix (which the CSD Patch does have). The Olympics fix avoids a crash when using a 2013 start date. I'll try to remember to update it.

I am having this problem with version 1.5, and I realize you are going to say it is because I didn't open my game with the CSD Patch everytime, well I actually did. I am getting an error when trying to patch the game now and it says "1 error(s) and 0 warning(s) encountered.ERROR: EHM is not running. Patch aborted.Patch failed.1 error(s) and 0 warning(s) encountered." I didn't think it was a problem intially, I figured it just didn't need to be patched, but it has nothing to do with my saved game as this happens immediately, unlike before it would actually patch.

Is my season lost like the others or is there a way for me to recover it? I am also wondering what I did wrong and why it won't patch now and what I can do for the future. If I'm going to start another season, I don't want to run into the same problem.

I obivously cannot start another game with the 2013-2014 season start date as the patch is not working. I guess my season must be gone, I would just like to know what I did wrong and potentially why it isn't patching anymore. Thanks

The error means either that:-

1) EHM wasn't running at the time the Patch tried to apply the patch; or
2) You're not running the Patch with the "Run as Admin" option.

The solution to #2 is hopefully obvious, but to solve #1 try loading EHM and then using the "Apply Patch Only" button on the Patch.

If you have been continuing to load your saved game despite the Patch's error then unfortunately it's likely that your game will be irrecoverable. The way to test is to make a copy of the saved game, load the Patch and EHM, load your saved game and try vacation simming a year into the future. If it doesn't crash then you're probably okay.

I should have realized the #2, I actually thought about it but did not try it. I actually got it working by copy pasting my making a new directory of my game and putting saved file into that new directory and then running patch. I will try the admin option from now on.

It's essential you use Run as Admin. The User Access Control (aka UAC) feature introduced in Windows Vista restricts the access to the system that programs installed in C:/Program Files/... can access. So you absolutely must use Run as Admin because otherwise the Patch cannot patch the RAM like it needs to in order to change the start date.

Btw, it'll work in a folder outside of C:/Program Files/... because the UAC isn't as restrictive outside of C:/Program Files/...

Hey guys I'm new in here. I've been playing the Football Manager games for many years, but just recently I installed this wonderful game. But my game keeps crashing every time I reach may 25 2014. I'm playing with the CSD, latest patch and latest database. Any suggestions?

1) are you remembering to load the CSD Patch each time you reload the game?

2) when you created your new game, did you select the earliest date possible?

That crash relates to the Russian Superleague. However, I can't tell you anything more than that because you haven't told me how you're using the Patch.

Maybe I have forgotten to start with CSD patch once or twice. Also we have Russsien Superleauge as "standard".

That will undoubtedly result in a crash. If you don't use it every time you reload until you reach the 1 Feb/1 July then you'll essentially corrupt your game.
