batdad wrote:Honestly...that hard a slash has come down on many a stick this season, last year and every game. Just hit a bad spot and I have no doubt that it hurt. But it is just a normal situation and i honestly do not believe PK was seriously trying to injure the rookie. I may have a different opinion if it was say.....Turris or Karlsson. PK is not that type of player. On the edge sure but not really dirty. Chirpy yea, not really dirty ...has got a bad rap for running his mouth. I think I am one of the few who actually likes PK and the way he plays. (Non hab fans).
One of the things I think happened is that after the first period, there was already alot of tension and intensity from both teams. There were big hits, small talks and small fights after the whistle and I know Stone was involved in a couple of them. He also nailed hard Gallagher at some point and I wouldn't be surprised that he tried to broke his stick or hit his hand with that slash. When you watch the replay, PK looks at Stone and as soon as he slashes, he looks aways and ends up hitting his wrist.

This is only a OBSERVATION from when I watched the replay though, might not be that (I prefer to specify it for Peter) but it can be both. But yeah PK is not a dirty player, just a very excited played when things get hot and he does stupid things like that one.

And I'm not defending that play, I said he deserved to me a 5 min. I don't mind he got ejected, it was indeed stupid! That jump though, like Nino said, so much acting! He could have jumped (like you said) instead of trying to dive in invisible water! Case close for me.

Yes I have seen that. Never from a pro but I have seen it. :-D Usually they then have mommy come and take care of their booboo.

I seriously think it was a dumb reaction but....in this day and age I can see it. I have seen some seriously bad dives and pearl clutching out there....in junior, in beer leagues, in minor hockey at elite level...just not really at pro level. Except for .... the guys who look like they have been shot. All that being said, that spot he got hit on the wrist....it can be a sharp vibration type pain that is freaking seriously like the funny bone. It is an eerie weird feeling.

Magic spray is always good. But not sure it would have helped a jumper. :-D

(Shh...I was trying to be nice instead of mean okay...give me a break nino ....getting all old and crotchety on me. :-D )

In my understanding right in front of the net (the slot) is the key area in hockey, and I'd never consider it out of the play (unless the play's at the other end of the ice) & no forward goes to the slot "minding his own business" (especially in the playoffs).

Sure, at the same time there is no reason what so ever of slashing someone in the wrist like that except for trying to hurt him...

Yeah, not anymore.

When I was a kid "clearing the slot" by breaking the wooden stick over some forwards back in the slot happened regularly (and a Sher-Wood PMP 5030 wood stick was strong)...some players like Tim Kerr took such abuse and maintained position/focus, and others (like TV guy Craig Simpson) used to fall down like a rag doll HaHa

Keeping the front of the net clear is the "reason" for such rough play (Billy Smith style!)

The jack of all trades was the stick between the legs. Those Titans hurt even more than the Sherwood sometimes. Worst was when the sieve in net you had scored on 22000000 times decided he would try it....it hurt...still scored though. :-D I am guessing that Nino you were less Billy Smith with the Isles and more Ron Low with the Crapitals of that era. :-D

If the Pens don't make the Final, but who doubts it, I hope the Rangers will reach it. And lose it in 7 :**

Why do you want someone to reach the final and lose it in game 7!? Anyway I predicted that Chicago takes it against the Rangers in the final, maybe that's the game 7 you're talking about. :-D

Neil still has an injured hand. I can imagine Chris badgering coach to let him in....I can use my right hand! Really coach...let me play. And Cameron saying...wait and see wait and see, and last second thinking ugh...he is not ready.Dress that other bum.

Cameron is a great coach. ALways has been. Very tactical and good with young guys. Gets alot out of his teams, as can be shown by what Ottawa has done since he came in.

I do not think I have ever seen a player whose skating improved so much during a season as Bo Horvat. Insane

Also Calgary gonna need a lot of their special magic tonight. Breaking the net cam. Awesome.

Another nice game yesterday between the Hab and the Sens. More disciplined than the first one that's for sure! :-D Stone was finally there, 2 assists, alot of ice time, nice hits and he seriously played well, too bad he almost died 3 days ago. :** But he did not shot at all. Hammond was way better than the first game, he was weak when it counted the most unfortunately for him.

Weber will miss match 3 and 4. Big loss for the Preds.

haha that's a weird decision. Just hope it's only for 1 game and not the rest of that serie. Crawford always seemed to have slow starts in the playoffs.

Not surprised. THE IDIOT attempted to put a player on the ice who had just been given a misconduct to get him out of the game (Bollig). And that was after the brawl....the man has no brain. I can see Tortorella sitting at home saying...SEE I TOLD YOU GUYS! SEE!

I also love Bieksa after the game (man who CBC Don Cherry has called Bi-essss-ka for 10 years) saying : I don't know who that Ferkland or whatever his name is guy is (yes Ferkland) but we have played against alot bigger idiots than him (referenced a couple of Hawks and a couple of Bruins) and not really concerned.
