Hi, I'd love to join a team to help create rosters. I haven't done any roster creation before, but I've got over 500 hours in EHM and have messed with the Assistant quite a bit.
It's summer for me right now, so I've got some free time. My work schedule is a bit sporadic, but I'm certain I'll be able to devote several hours a week. Also, can't PM because account restrictions.
Thanks!

I would love to help you guys out ! I spent some time using the EHM Assistant and I also edited some rosters for EHM 2005. I'm in Québec too, so I could help Monette with the QMJHL editing and Quebecers in the show.
Si ça t'intéresse que je te donne un coup de main Monette, tu n'as qu'a me le laisser savoir on pourra se partir quelque projet de roster et tout et tout. Peut-être même éventuellement une ligue !

We're actually just in the process of re-organising the way we do research at the moment (this should take a week or so to do). We have way too many users who volunteer but do not actually produce any work (which means their assigned leagues are completely neglected as we assume they're working on them). We're preparing a simple guide as well as tightening up how researchers check-in, etc. Once we have completed this, I will post details of how users can sign-up to assist with the research.
In the meantime, I'm just quoting the below offer of help as a reminder:
connormcjesus wrote:I'm honestly open to anything really. I'm much more familiar with the NHL and AHL, but I'm willing to learn about the CHL and the Finnish and Swedish leagues. I'm familiar with the CHL rules since I played a few seasons of EHM with the Kitchener Rangers, but I'd be open to learning about Finnish and Swedish leagues as well.
I have not done any EHM editing, unless just fiddling around with the EHM Assistant counts.
I'm pretty knowledgeable about hockey. My team is the Hurricanes and I'm very familiar with our prospect pool, etc. I followed the draft pretty closely also. I'm not at all close to being an expert, but I know the different rules (e.g. free agency, offer sheets, RFA vs. UFA, waivers). I have about 500 hours in EHM and have won a few Cups with the Hurricanes, plus a Memorial Cup with Kitchener.
I have used Excel before. If the EHM Updater is the same thing as the Assistant, then yes. If it's the Pre-Game Editor, then I've used it a little, but I'm not too familiar with it.

Yes, that was an exemplary post by connormcjesus on how to show interest in aiding our research.
I have gotten him working on the NHL non-playing staff

I'd be interested in helping with the WHL, BCHL, and AJHL but have no idea how I would even start. I have hours of free-time and an interest. I also have some experience with excel.

To expand, I am an avid fan of the WHL and the BCHL and have a modicum of knowledge on the AJHL. I don't have much experience working with the database editor, but am very familiar with excel. I am very committed to this project, so let me know if you require my help and I can begin plugging in the numbers as soon as needed.

I'm far from an EHM expert but I can help out with the Sabres if you guys need some feedback or second opinions

. I'm a passionate Sabres fan from Germany who follows not just our NHL team but also the farm squad and the prospects, so maybe I could be particularly helpful when dealing with the lesser known players.
Cheers, David

You can PM me about the Sabres so we can chat. I only do the NHL players not the farm squad/prospects. I can always listen to your opinions!

He can't PM yet as he is a new member here.
He can post in this thread if he wants to:

If I can't PM yet we can use an external chat tool or something along those lines as well... What's the deal with this no PM thing by the way, I assume it's to combat spammers?

That's exactly right. Although we can just use this thread to discuss anyway.
I'm looking to lower the post threshold for PMs which should help.

I would like to join the research team. I'm not a master of the game and if it matters my computer is horrible (can barely run Eastside) but I wanted to give it a shot and I'm willing to work on anything.

Hi guys, been reading over on HF that there's a dearth of researchers for the upcoming database. I'm currently a first year law student who does not have too much free time but given the need from the community to keep this project as good as possible, I'd be willing to do a couple hours a week of work if need be.
In terms of research competencies, I've been an avid OHL followers for 15+ years, but am also a prospect junkie in general. In terms of leagues or regions, I have lived in Sweden and Germany and am very familiar with their respective hockey systems. In the case of Germany I could probably give scouting reports on guys all the way down to the Oberliga.
So if any of the OHL, SHL, Allsvenskan, Ettan, DEL, 2.Bundesliga, or any of the four Oberligen need work, I would be happy to help.
Also, you can find me under PensFan101 at Hfboards, or e-mail me at
wltannahill@gmail.com. Those are both easier avenues for contacting me on a regular basis than this website but I will check back here.

Youth leagues in the Quebec region

First off I'd just like to comment and say that whoever has done the latest available QMJHL ratings has done a very good job. They are realistic as a whole and provide a good playing experience so far.
What I'd like to know is how knowledge this person is about Midget AAA, Midget Espoir and Bantam AAA in the Quebec region. I would like to offer my help in that regards as I've been involved in youth hockey for a while and would like to help out. I know a great deal about who the best players are and who's considered to have the most QMJHL and NHL potential.
So let me know if I can help!

Thanks for the nice words! I do not remember who it was that made the QMJHL part of the research, the db you are using was released a year ago.
We do not have anyone working on those Quebec leagues, in fact even the QMJHL is lacking someone to rate the players.
You are more than welcome to join the research crew!

Sorry for not getting back to you guys.
We would like your assistance with the research but we currently do not have the time to get you started with it.
My own precious little time is spent on the already existing researchers and getting the database as good as possible with their work (and a little editing of my own)
