Is it anything to do with nationalities of the teams? I.e. teams in the French league have to be French and those in Finland have to be Finnish. There's some mention of how to move teams to foreign leagues in this thread: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... php?t=3887 - Alessandro might be able to confirm this.

Archi: i doubt it's linked... The nationality stuff seems to affect the rules used for a team, but doesn't seem to prevent you to play the game... Here, he just can't play, and his error messages are related to the top division ("fin_first"), while his mix of French + Finnish teams is at the second level... :dunno:

Interesting stuff about the nationalities though.

Another suggestion: Is it to do with an un-editable team/league? There's certain teams/leagues that have to remain intact for EHM to work. See the EHM Modding Limits Thread for more info.

Well... If it was a team/league name, i don't understand why it should work okay when he changed just the top league, and then get an error message for the top league while editing the second league... :dunno: I'll go back to him with the idea though, but i doubt that's the real problem...:-k

Please read my post two posts above yours. That might be your answer.

Shadd - it might be that there is an uneditable team in the second league. I don't really know the deal with these uneditable teams because I've never needed to edit league or team names. Someone with experience of editing names/teams/leagues in the DB extensively might be able to give you an answer (Kidhander or Devils88) or perhaps mne2.

I don't know either, as i know peanuts about editing :dunno: I'm just translating here :D

In fact, they are the ones i hope the most an answer from, due to their high knowledge about editing / the editor. But of course, everyone's answers are welcome :D

When you deinstall the game do you remove the database?
Maybe its the updated database that causes the error.

Remove the Eastside Folder in the program files folder and try install again without the roster update.
(Just try to start the game with the original database first).
Good luck!

Yep that error message is related to a database problem. What DB did you download? I wonder if it involved changing team names (as that can cause problems)... :-k

Sounds like you installed a 'newer' db update but without installing the latest patch. My advice would be to re-install the latest patch which will fix your error. Then if you want to try that new database you can put it in a subdirectory of your database folder so it won't overwrite the original so even if it doesn't work you can fall back to the original Db.

So what you're saying the patched game crashes only with the custom database, but not with default?

Changing League Names?

Post by Laiho »

Hi!

I got an idea about making a "scandinavian super league" with teams from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. I figure i use the Swedish League system and have a "SSL" and "SSL-2". I thought i´ll just change the country origins of the teams to sweden, and place out the teams that doesn´t fit into the two leagues into the fin/den/nor leagues.

But now to my problem, tried to change the names of the two swedish leagues but got errors when i tried to start a game. These are the errors that i got:
- Unable to find the DB_COMP_SWEDISH_ELITSERIEN index
- Unable to find the DB_COMP_SWEDISH_ALLSVENSKAN index

Those occured instantly when i started a new game and picked my database.

Then these errors when i chose the swedish league and tried starting the game:
- v3.0.4 swe_elite.cpp 1199
- v3.0.4 swe_elite.cpp 112
- v3.0.4 swe_allsvenska.cpp 587
- v3.0.4 swe_allsvenska.cpp 77

Notice that the only thing i have done so far is change the names of the two leagues, nothing else.

This is the first time i try something like this in the editor and i dont even know if it´s possible, so if anyone can tell me if it really is possible and in that case, tell me how to do it , i would be a happy camper =)

Try naming some unplayable, never-seen-never-heard league's name into Swedish Elitserien and another to take the name of Allsvenskan (or as it's known here in TBL: "Allskaveksan" :-D ). Not sure if this will work with league names, but it sure works if you get this error when changing team names. :dunno:

I tried it and guess what....it didn´t work =( the only thing that happened was that instead of the "Unable to find the DB_COMP_SWEDISH_ELITSERIEN index" it changed to "Unable to find the DB_COMP_blablacroatiancrap league index" :P
And the other errors still stayed the same =/

You can change league names by masking those.. and using blended language file.

Probably too many teams in leagues..

Well i found a way around the problem, i only changed the Swedish names of the leagues in other languages, and simply changed the language in the game to swedish (ran english before). So now instead of "Elitserien" and "Allsvenskan" it says "Skandinaviska Superligan" and "Skandinaviska Superligan-2" ingame. :-D
