I pretty much save after every game or two.

I save after every game and if I go for a period of time where I've made changes to anything I save after that.

I'm about the same as thunderbug. After every game and if there are more than a couple days between games, I'll save again. Sometimes I end up with extra saves because I've got multiple windows open, doing something else while I play EHM. I'll flip to something else while EHM is saving and sometimes I forget that I already saved by the time I get back to EHM and I end up saving again.
