Wroom, let's keep the topic just about discussion of the tactic. If you want discuss your current game, there is a thread for that.

Thanks!

So my team is young, but has alot of talent. I tried this tactic verbatim and had mixed results, some games, i destroyed my opponent, other games, lost badly.

My coach likes to match lines, so I decided to keep the tactic but make one major change. I matched lines 3v1 2v2, 1v3, 4v4 and set my THIRD line to a defensive mindset with my best defensive forwards. WOW.

I've won 5 straight, and 8 of 10. Really on a roll.

Fun stuff.

I overplayed Wild 8:0 too, maybe this tactic is especially good for them :wtg: I play for Avalanche.

I had a terrible result with this tactic. Won maybe 2 of 12.

Good to read that most of you have success with it.

Yeah, I used linematching in some seasons too. It really depends on what kind of team you have I guess. Two good scoring lines and I used 1v2 and 2v1. When I had a very good shutdown-line I used 1v3 and 3v1.

But the last 4 seasons or so, my team is overall good and I haven't used linematching much.

What team and players do you got jbsnadb? You need some players to have some success ;)

My centers, Bryan Little, Cody Hodgson and Mike Fisher are having amazing years with this tactic.

I also turned Michael Sauer into a bone crushing hitter.

One problem I had in my first season with it, my players were less talented and I had a ton of giveaways.

I've won my first 5 games to start the season and have really outshot the teams I play. The Sedins are doing well this tactic and even Steve Bernier is turning into a goal scorer. I matched lines too :)

 to this tactic!

With this tactic (along with a lil tweaking), My team is off to a 5-0 start which is not all that special, but the 40GF vs 5GA is amazing (possibly too small a sample size)

Olli Jokinen is currently my top point getter with 18. Heck even Ryan Craig has 6 points while averaging only 7 mins of ice time.

Thanks OP!

Looks to be nice tactics!

Change it after a few games to your tactic and at end of season Crosby got around 100 assists.
But one questions - how can i manage that the changes for pp and pk would be saved?

Awesome tactic! I got 26-12-3 after half of my third season. But my PP don't work, I got 11,2%... any ideas how to improve that?

What do you mean?

If PP's is equal, try leaning towards 1st.line for a while. Or the other way if that's the case. Try putting a winger or two from the third/fourth line in a PP-spot.

I got very very different results... Some times there are 9 match streaks with like 6-0/1 wins and then another 10 matches by losing by example 2-8 or 4-11. So is there some problems with my goalie? No, Budaj almost all goalie stats 90+ and Consistency 16. So what's the problem?

Hard to tell, with so little information. But I remember when I took over the Penguins. They were a non-playoff team. And I had that kind of run with 5-6 wins, then 5-6 losses and so on. Often lost 3-6, 4-6, 4-7. Won 6-2, 5-3 and so on. I figured out that it was my teams debth that was bad When 3rd-liners go -33 you got something wrong. So, start looking at your team. And make some trades I suppose.

Haha. not to be ironic but I am in 2011 now and only 4 plrs out of 36 contracted are default players from 2006.
But Í, in the middle of the season, see myself 4th in the Conference with Nitty, Spezza and Norris winner Brewer ( 8-) ).
Let's see if your uploaded one makes any difference. :-D

Edited  : Yep, that might, but just might :-D be the problem because i have Nylander (the old ****do with 3 last seasons with 90+ points) and Scott Hartnell with Tavares in line 3, so might dump Tavares to farm and buy some players like Sean Avery :joy: . That was a joke. About Avery.

Just downloaded your tactic. I am slowly rebuilding the Wild (aka tanking the first few years) Anyways I am looking to run a three very very offensive young lines and a shutdown/goon line as my 4th. Anyways I was wondering if you could tell me about how many goals on average you score a season and what does the points look like for your 1-2-3 lines, also what % your PP is hitting at. You can take screenies if you wish. Thanks for any help. Just looking for the best tactic for my plan with this squad.

Well. I'm playing with a couple contender teams, one of them beeing hugely favorites. So, kind of hard to compare.

The best team have:

Some 74 wins a season
Goal difference of around 460-155 (+/-)
PP last 8 seasons : 22.01%, 18.34%, 26.07%, 27.19%, 27.80%, 21.57%, 21.71%, 22.97%, 26.32%(15games)
PK last 8 seasons : 80.10%, 87.79%, 88.61%, 91.81%, 88.64%, 88.22%, 91.22%, 89.69%, 91.53%(15games)
First line: about 170-200-145 in points. Often more on two of them.
Second line: 70-115-60
Third line: Around 40 points all over.

The second team:

65 wins a season(+/-)
375-180
PP : 17.79, 20.96, 21.21, 19.76, 25.00, 18.10, 17.00, 17.76, 21.33(15 games)
PK : 72.15, 85.59, 87.20, 87.33, 89.64, 89.77, 87.86, 89.63, 80.90(15 games)
First line: 125-160-145
Second line: 60-75-55
Third line: 25-30-25

I think you will be around 280-320 in goals, 17,5%-73,5% PP-PK

Perhaps worse.

Sounds like an interesting tactic. Would love to give it a try, but the Mediafire link appears to be down and your pictures showing the tactic too. Any chance you could reupload it?
