Yea obviously. Don't care to debate your video game ethics, just sharing some knowledge. What is fun for me is different than you, and that's okay, right?
Sure, you're free to play any way you want. I'm just saying that these are often posted about here, and there are two "schools of play" for EHM. Those who use them and those who deliberately avoid using them, because, like Philou said, it kills the game.

Hey, my point is that this is not an ethics class on my private life, not asking for moral advice from a stranger on my gaming habits, just sharing relevant info, so no need to get all high and mighty and decide this is a chance to school someone to begin with. That he maybe shouldn't have said it to begin with, that is my point. We're on different paths, we all obviously know that point of view, and many decide to live differently, so just keep your irrelevant judgement to yourself about how someone enjoys themselves privately. On the other hand, advice given unrequested is worthy of an ethics debate.

Let me have my own experience without your approval, thank you very much.

I think you're overreacting a bit. But no point going on about this. Welcome to TBL. :-)

The slightly less abusive way of signing players cheaper with regards to RFA is to just make a horrible qualifying bid. Then wait til they hit RFA and resign them from RFA, that way you don't abuse the AI (of other teams) but you get much more reasonable contracts. Since the Salary cap never goes up in EHM but players wage demands hit the 12m a year range for top players you end up in a very unrealistic cap situation quite quickly. If you resign your players from RFA they will have wage demands that are usually more in line with what you'd expect in a flat cap era. So 8m for superstars (like Crosby) 5m for Horrible Power Forwards that had a single scoring season (Too many to count) and about 6m for top defencemen. Also based on some testing players with high loyalty shouldn't ask for less money than those with higher loyalty. However their Reputation will impact it a lot. And I think it's fair to assume Thornton has more rep than Jokinen (to look back at an earlier example in the thread), but it does seem like it you sign a player from RFA who has your team as his favourite team he's willing to sign at a discount. This is where loyalty comes in as a higher loyalty player will be guaranteed to have your team as his favourite by the time his bridge contract runs out, which means that in practice loyalty can give you a cheaper deal but in theory it's not the loyalty itself that made it cheaper; It's that the loyalty causes another event to happen that in turn leads to the cheaper deal. Regardless it makes higher loyalty players more cap friendly in general. It's possible that more ambitious players will ask for more money too, but I haven't tested it so it's purely speculation.
