Well, not as easy as the result seems. But first matches are often very unpredictable and not showing the real strength and weakness of each team. As the tournament moves on, the favourite teams get stronger and outsiders weaker. LAT-CAN match is gonna be totally different today and let's say in quaterfinals.Alessandro wrote:Easy 2-0 win over Slovakia, let's move on now

Definatley. I strongly agree. Especially with the last sentences.Laker2415 wrote:I hope that Finland beats the US and the Denmark vs. Germany game goes to OT or Germany wins in regulation, because I want to see the US in the Relegation Round. American players not playing and the governing body needs to look at this and start taking this tournament seriously.

To make people taking the World Championship seriously they must stop having it every year, then it might be some prestige in winning it.
I'm kind of tired of seeing the World Championship every year, maybe every second year would be better or why not every fourth like the football/soccer World Cup? And maybe have some sort of qqualification to the World Championship like they have in football/soccer?

I think that is very true. The fact that there are 3 major international tournaments takes a lot of prestige away from the World Championships. The Olympic Hockey Tournament is obviously the biggest national team tournament in the sport and it would be an absolute travesty to not have the pros compete in this. This would have to stay.
I think that the World Cup of hockey has to go and I like the idea of qualifications for the World Championships. Would you have a top pool and then lower divisions for everyone else, similar to how it's done now or would you have the field of 16 or 24 or whatever and have that be it?

US sucks. Does they believe that after silver medal of Vancouver they will automatically get gold?DJP19 wrote:Definatley. I strongly agree. I'm not saying that they should automatically get gold. What I'm saying is, they (and all of the other teams for that matter), should try to put their very best players possible on the roster for the Worlds. If they put that kind of team together and have the same results then so be it, but the fact that they put some players on this team that are pretty much no-names, it makes one wonder, how seriously does USA Hockey and its players take this tournament. The answer seems to be not much.Jypfan92 wrote: US sucks. Does they believe that after silver medal of Vancouver they will automatically get gold?
For nations like Denmark and France, this is their big stage and their chance to show the world their top talent. Why can't the United States do the same? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
