Different ways. They have a big inaugural draft...then each year you draft new guys coming in through NHL draft. Farm teams are available to protect guys who are young and prospects. You have a certain number of players you protect year to year, and you then also have some that you let go each year (roughly 10% of your roster) Trades allowed etc. Keeper leagues are often head to head leagues each week. works just like you are the GM of the team.

Oooh! This sounds fun! I've definitely got to try one of these some day. Being an EHM fan, it sounds right up my alley.batdad wrote:Different ways. This league we're doing now is probably the first time I've done a league where I'm not matched up against another team each week. My regular league plays that way. We've got a schedule where we play against a different team in our league each week. Sometimes you could have a somewhat bad week but you might win for the week because you were better than the other guy. I've also had weeks when my team was awesome but I still lost because the other guy was just a little bit better. It makes things very interesting!

Not any more he is not. Anyway...finally, after touching on about 12 players on my roster and 15 on Manimal's trying to come up with a deal we could both work with...we went back to one of the first one's we tried...and it is done.
I really wanted Keith instead of Ohlund, but meh...dumping a backup goalie for a starter and dealing Bernier for Ohlund....with forward being my strength position...well c'est la vie.
Now I have 2 starters!!! Smith and Budaj. Neither is a superstar starter, but at least they are steady.
With Chicago being fricking stupid, had to do something. How in god's name do they even think about sending Cam Barker down? Even Scotty admitted it was because of Khabibusieve and his fat ugly contract. Same with Niemi. How come I have both guys who get effed up the ...because of a $7 mill sieve? Ugh.
Not that Barker or Niemi are going anywhere. Both will be back.

Bite me...I knew you were getting a decent deal out of that. Consider it my charity, since you needed it!!! Nah...I needed and wanted Barker and still do! Campbell-Barker-Keith-Seabrook...those are the pp guys in Chicago, unless Denis Savard gets all silly and plays D-men up front and forwards on the point. Oh wait....right...Dustin, Sharp...right he does that. Bah...next thing you know Niemi will be back and playing Center.

Is anyone else having points not show up? I had Kessel score last night and Bergeron had 2 assists. Their points showed up last night during the game (it was a late game and I only watched the first period but checked online before going to bed) but they don't show up now. Scott Hannan too. It looks like just players from the Bruins vs Avalanche game. Brad Stuart's stats from the Red Wings vs Maple Leafs game shows up though. Any idea what the deal is?
