You still have a few hours to add requests, because soon Ill send the DB to the admins and have them upload it.

Can you wait that I'll send my corrective for randomize players... I am ready about hour...
If I can have them in less than an hour, maybe an hour and a half, I'll have time to fix it. (Ill upload the DB just before I go to bed :-p )

Free Agent --> Marc Lamothe --> Pelicans
Kärpät --> J.D. Forrest --> Kloten Flyers (SWI)
New Player --> Dmitri Shelomentsev --> Roki (http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=51346 Has good reach, big sized, mobile and does well infront of the goal.)

Hope I'm not late.
There is still time :-p

I wonder whether Oreskovich and/or Repik should be a little better - they come out rubbish in my game and 'Big O' is certainly doing well.

(Conversely Horton is probably over-rated ROFL)

batdad wrote:And BTW--The top Swedish Junior League is not exactly strong. Most kids in Sweden who do not come play in the WHL, QMJHL and OHL...make the Swedish men's teams and play there.

Which brings me to the Blackhawks pick 5th round of 2009 who is leading Djurgaardens IF (men's team not Junior) in scoring this season....hmmm maybe he is the next coming of Peter Forsberg? I think he is a better player than Almqvist. In fact, I am sure of it. I mean its obvious....
Was all that necessary to voice your opinion?

Why is the Swedish Junior League not strong? I believe their junior structure can make for players to grow up with one team since an early age and develop all the way through the pro league.

And that 5th Round pick you were talking about (Marcus Kruger) played most of the 2008-09 season in the Swedish Junior League. The reason Kruger is able to be playing in the Elitserien league this season is the fact that Djurgarden lost a few players over the off season. Djurgarden lost Dick Axelsson (LW), Mikael Ahlén, Niklas Anger, Fredrick Bremberg (LW), Marcus Kristoffersson, Robin Figren and Gabriel Landeskog. They picked up left wing Mathias Tjärnqvist in the offseason to replace the losses of Bremberg and Axelsson. Kruger got more playing time with the injury of Mathias. He has taken advantage of the players leaving and worked his way into the pro league.

As for Almqvist, he had the opposite happen. The 2008/09 season had 7 defenseman playing more than 40 games and two other d-men who played 15+ games. Almqvist started out the season with the J18 team and lost the opportunity for further advancement after being stopped by the stacked depth chart. In the 2009/10 season, HV-71 returned 5 of their 7 starting defenseman. They also added NHL veteran Janne Niinimaa. Almqvist simply hasn't had the chance to prove himself on the pro level. He might get his shot if their is another injury on the HV-71 blueline.

All done, although I went a bit lower with the attributes in some cases. I'll boost them if they prove themselves in a full season, not 15-20 games.

Ryan O'Marra should probably be a -7. I know that hockey's Future has him as a 6b, but that is mostly because he was sent to the ECHL last year. This was done to get him off his high horse, not because of his skill. He's played for Team Canada twice in the U20s, and he was a first round pick. He's never going to score a 100 points, but he will be an effective checking centre who seems to have a knack for faceoffs.

Greg Jambrosich for the Sudbury Wolves should be a bit better...
He was rated the best skater at the U-16's a little while back, and he's faster and more agile than most players on his team. He may not have many points, but he'll be in the NHL. Seen him play a few times, and he was exciting to watch.

Ok, while I'm managing in juniors, I went to take a look at the Habs.

Looks alright for the most part. Moen, Gill and Plekanec could use a little boost. I've seen Moen and Gill waived in the first season. Moen is very physical and reliable defensively. Gill...uhm...is useful on the PK? Maybe just a better CA (up to you). Plekanec is barely useful as a second line center (I think he got around 40 points) when he's our leading scorer this year and a very reliable 2-way player. The rest seem to play pretty much like they have this year :headache: (Gorges is a left-handed RD/LD is real life, so you might want to check his handedness in-game). Make Laraque injury-prone and useless, he's garbage.

Now, my main beef is with the farm club. O'Byrne is barely a bottom pairing guy over there, when he was one of the best Dman on the team in the preseason. Should be able to take a regular shift in the NHL. Carle should be a decent AHL defenseman, not a fringe one. Weber was terrible in the 2 seasons I've seen in the game, when he was an all-star last year (AHL) and his slapshot should definately be more than a 12, it's a mean one (thought I can understand you would like to keep it relatively low for development purposes). Maxwell, Trotter and Desharnais all blow in the game when they were close to a point-per-game last year. Chipchura should be playing in the NHL and was the top defensive centerman last year in the AHL, he can barely hold his own down there. Ryan White should be better, he's playing in the NHL right now. He gets sent to the ECHL in the game. As for Massé, he had knee surgery in late june and is out for 4-6 months from that day. Mikael Johansson needs to be toned down, since he's pretty average in the AHL, yet I've seen him make the Habs roster from day one. Andrew Conboy needs to be a left winger (and not a center). Maybe boost Eric Neilson, since he looked fairly decent for a goon in the preseason.

darn, that was long. Hope this helps.

EDIT : I kinda double-posted, can the first message be deleted, mods? Thanks.

A serious look at IF Malmö Redhawks after having played three seasons - and also started 3 other games and simming through 2 seasons.

Jesper Damgaard is, in the game, considered to be one of the best D-men in SEL-2. But irl he's struggling a lot, often being benched or 7th defender. He's turned really slow last 2 seasons
CA 95 -> 75. Acceleration 11 -> 5. Pace 11 -> 8. Positioning 14 -> 10. Consistency 18 -> 7. Imp. matches 11 -> 13. Leadership 20 -> 15.

Fredrik Eriksson is the best offensive d-man in SEL-2, way underrated.
CA 95 -> 100. Wristshot 11 -> 13. Deking 8 -> 11.

Nichlas Hardt should be considered as a top 6 forward. He's getting around 10 pts every season when simulating, he's almost a PPG player irl.
CA 75 -> 90 and I would raise all his technical attributes which are all at 9-10 with +2.

Don MacLean is a bit too good.
CA 105 -> 95. Consistency 14 -> 10. Deking 15 -> 7. Passing 12 -> 8. Stickhandling 13 -> 10.

Patrik Hersley has been a nice surprise at the blueline this season, wouldn't change too much as he's only played 18 games (12 pts) so far. But I would change his slapshot from 12 -> 14 (8 goals).

Teemu Kesä is an extremely dirty player. He's getting around 40-60 PIM per season (50 games), irl he's always been around 150-200 and most of them are because of fights, cheap shots.
Dirtyness 12 -> 20. Aggression 13 -> 18. Checking 10 -> 14. Strength 12 -> 16. Hitting 13 -> 15. Decisions 5 -> 3.

Lucas Sandström has been a massive surprise, showing great play - too bad he can't score though. In the game he puts up around 5-10 pts every season. This season he's got 10 pts in 18 games (played first 10-13 games in the 4th line).
CA 60 -> 70. Hitting 9 -> 11. Passing 8 -> 10. Acceleration 11 -> 13. Pace 12 -> 14.

Minor adjustments:
Robin Weihager. Positioning 9 -> 6.
Jan Urbas. Aggression 5 -> 8.
Sebastian Dyk. CA 35 -> 45. Acceleration 0 -> 13. Pace 0 -> 12. One of the best player in J20.
Robin Alvarez. CA 65 -> 80. PA 75 -> 100.
Marcus Olsson. Solid 3rd liner, good 2-way player should be improved by +1 or +2 in the technical attributes. He's hardly a 4th liner in the game. Irl he's put up 7 pts in 15 games (22 pts in 45 games last season).

That would pretty much make Malmö spot on, imo :-D

Tell me your opinion or if you have any further questions..

First of all. Lidas, amazing job, thanks for all of your time and effort, making this game relevant by keeping it up to date after 4 years of it's release... you deserve all the credit in the world.

Is anyone else having players like Briere, Scott Niedermeyer, Rob Blake and John Madden being moved before or right around when the season starts like I am?

Yep - Briere and Blake both went to the Islanders for picks in my most recent game. Madden is being offered around (Sept 6th) and the Ducks are keeping Nieds for now.

Yup. I've seen that happen. I've seen the Bruins send Tim Thomas down to Providence to start the season too. It's because the teams are starting out over the cap.

Same here. Always gonna happen unless you remove bonuses from the actual cap hit and it's always going to be the same guys traded/waived. With that being said the upper limit is high enough (I'll probably limit it to 50 or something), so I don't mind bonuses counting against the cap.
