Finished my second regular season playing as Dinamo Riga and I found the GM of the year in the Eastern Conference:

Which team managed to lose to Amur?

Also, I'd have expected a team that loses 59 out of 60 games to lose games by a bigger margin than an average of 3 goals.

My hope is it was Avangard or Dynamo Riga. :-D

I'm with the Panthers in the 2017/2018 season. I've spent the previous 3 seasons both trying to rebuild my team, learning the game, and learning hockey in general. Perhaps not the most optimal combination :-D . As a result I've finished the first season barely making the playoffs and losing in the first round. Second season not making the playoffs, and the third season even finishing dead last.

However, now in the 4th season I'm sitting 3rd of the league. Some of my younger players have really stepped up, mainly Huberdeau and Grimaldi on the wings. Ryan Kesler was a key addition seemingly, traded him while he was on a half-year injury for my 3rd rated winger. He's holding down center now. Got some decent additions for defense I think (Jason Demers, but especially Hampus Lindholm), and finallly found a potential replacement for an aging Luongo in an 18 year old Swede called Eriksson Ek.

Sadly for some reason I can't seem to get the most out of the likes of Ekblad, Barkove and Bjugstad who are still to have a good season 4 years in :(

Started with the Devils. Picked up Dale Weise on waivers before the season began. Put a claim in for Matt Greene from the Kings but didn't get him. 10-9-1 after 20 games, good for the last wildcard spot. I noticed the Red Wings were interested in Zubrus so I sent them an offer of a 2nd round pick and they accepted! :joy:

Few other trades: Nathan Beaulieu for Jan Hejda, Chris Phillips for Riley Sheahan, Marko Dano + 2nd round pick for David Rundblad.

Just starting with the Arizona Coyotes... I like poor team to start! Hire Lashoff as a UFA and Chimera from Waivers. Just about ready to start season 1.

I started my Montreal Canadiens save file and it is going great thus far. In EHM: 2007, I never like the first number of drafts, so I usually start in the OHL as the London nights (I went to university in London) and build them into a dynasty and do some development of prospects at a younger age for 6 or 7 seasons before accepting an NHL job for a struggling team that is in need of a rebuild. As this is a new game, I decided to start as the Habbies and win some cups before blowing them up.

Right now I am in direct competition with Detroit and Anaheim for the president's trophy. Montreal is a strong team to start, but I completely overhauled the team, trading all of my 2015 picks, most of my 2016 picks (not my first rounder) and some of my 2017 picks (not my first)

I also moved a lot of roster players around to gather some good depth on D and on forward because at the start of the game Montreal is over cap (likely due to Subban's monster of a contract). I did not find trading in this game as easy as it was in EHM: 2007. A lot of the guys I acquired, I was actually looking at several other guys which AI Gm's refused to trade to me.

Right now I am sitting at an overall salary cap hit of 74,500,00 and my player salaries amount to 82,000,000 where my budget is 88,000,000.

My lines are as follows:

Pacioretty - Pleckanec - St. Louis
Glachenyuk - Backes - Foligno
Beleskey - Frolik - Gallagher
Joensuu - Cizikas - Eaves

Markov - Subban
Erik Johsnon - Justin Schultz
Petry - Gilbert

Price
Tokarski

HS: (F) Craig Adams, (D) Matt Boriwecki

My team has been doing well, but it has been very balanced. I play normal ice time distribution so I have found that none of my players have racked up crazy crazy numbers. In fact, I find the distrubution of points to be fairly consistent for what you would expect from a first, second and third line. For instance

Line 1: Pacioretty - Pleckanec - St. Louis are my best line and as such they are over a PPG. This line has also been a juggernaut defensively as each member of this line is great in regards to +/-.

Line 2: Galchy - Backes - Foligno. No one on this line is over a PPG. Galhcy has 23 goals, Foligno has done great and Backes has been more of a defensive piece. Even when I had him going with an offensive mentality, he still excels more on the defensive end of the game.

Lines 3 and 4 have been great as well, but they don't produce a lot of offence, a goal here and a goal there. but everyone I have on these lines sits at an AvR of 7 or just below that.

On defence:

Subban and Markov have been key. Subban is a beast and rarely has a game in the negatives. The rest of my defence has been hit or miss. Most of their AvR are at 7 or just slightly +/- of it.

Price has been good. We are 50 games in and he has yet to hit his 10th loss. But I find that my team relies more on my top line than they do Price. Which is slightly different from real life, but I play a different style of game. Pricey is not at .920 Save% right now, but he is just shy at .918 with a 2.36 GAA.

Overall, I find the game to be fun. In fact, with the team I have, I likely would have been doing a whole lot better production wise if this was EHM 2007. My goal for the next 5 - 10 seasons is to let my guys age and to draft and develop depth guys slowly. I can then sell off my assets and work on drafting and development with the regens on the database (prolly one of the aspects I look forward to the most).

My Montreal Canadian went to win the Stanley Cup after getting the last playoff's spot.

My goal is to build a team using my draft picks only. No signed/claimed players.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but are updates to the game applied to running games? I've got a season going from last week. Am I going to have to start over in order to enjoy the updates made in 15.1?

Made one move at the deadline and that was to get rid of high contracts.

Dealt Ben Scrivens (Backup goalie/$3 million a year) to CBJ for Oliver Bjorkstrand

And so far, I think it was a great trade for us.

Hey guys,

I am a EHM noob. I have the early access version. Got a couple questions.

1. If i want to start a career as the GM of the New York Rangers, but want to make it possible to resign later on (or get fired) and move onto ANY league I want, do I load all leagues at the start? Do i leave them all as enhanced or view only? I don't really know the difference :dunno:

2. If i do choose the rangers, am I able to pull up from the AHL/ECHL? As well as send down? And if I do not manage the AHL/ECHL teams myself, will they sometimes trade away my players I send them? Or release them?

3. Last question, whats the advantage of loaning or letting others loan my players?

Thanks guys, real great game so far!

Yeah, you'll have to load the leagues you're interested in working in somewhere down the road. I don't know the difference between Enhanced and View Only simply because I've never experimented with it. But I always leave it as enhanced.

2. If i do choose the rangers, am I able to pull up from the AHL/ECHL? As well as send down? And if I do not manage the AHL/ECHL teams myself, will they sometimes trade away my players I send them? Or release them?

Yes, you are. And no, they won't be able to trade/release them. They're your property.

3. Last question, whats the advantage of loaning or letting others loan my players?

I found that if a player isn't getting much ice time or is getting scratched most games, it's better to loan them off in order to help their development.

Thanks guys, real great game so far!

It's solid.

Made it to the playoffs for the 2nd straight season. In the first round, we faced off against the Oilers (LOL) and won in seven games. Game went to OT and Oliver Bjorkstrand scored 20 seconds into the 2nd OT.

In the 2nd round, we faced the Kings. After upsetting them last season, they came back to take the series in 6 games. Our PK was our downfall and their PP took advantage (Scored 2 or 3 PP goals almost every game). Our PK was last in the league during the regular season and that came back to bite us against the Kings.

Felt sorry for Kuemper, dude was literally the only reason they didn't sweep us.

On draft day, the Flyers were shopping around Jakub Voracek for promising prospects. After a couple negotiations, we came to an agreement. I sent Henrik Samuelsson, Zach Werenski, and 2nd rounder the other way. (The board thought it was a fair trade for us).

I think this upcoming season might be the year we go for the cup.

Started the game with Dinamo Riga, played a fair bit of seasons until I decided it's time.. left Dinamo in 2021. (The funny thing is, I managed to sign Alex Ovechkin just before leaving the team.. made a separate save just to see how that season would play out  )

Joined New York Rangers after a losing season in 2021, made some big changes in team structure aaand.. President's Trophy goes to Rangers. :-D

I still can't get my team going. Made the assistant GM coach the first 20-30 games. Started out well with 12-6-4 record and then Adam Oates hit the fan. I took over, but everyone is on low morale and can't get anything working. We're 40 games into the season and my record is 17-18-5 or something. We're 10 points out of the playoffs already. I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong. We've got most face off wins, I make sure we win the board plays and don't get to many giveaways, still we lose games with 2-3 and 3-4 scores. It's ridiculous.

Is it not your coach that coaches when you are not doing it yourself, and not your AssGM?

I'm 50 games into my first season with the avs, currently placed fourth in the western conference. Duchene and Tangs are top two in points in the league, with iggy trailing at 6th.

I find myself sympathizing with Buffalo who of course are dead last by 10+ points. I'm not even going to try and trade for their 1st round pick. I say, let them have mcdavid. Does that make me a weak individual, destined to fail in this game?
