I think Nino mentionned once that goalies can sometimes over perform in the playoffs for some reasons. In my Avs game Varly also did a surnatural run.

Re: Funny/weird/cool screenshots [EHM:EA]
There have long (*long* long) been rumors of a "flag" in the freeware version where 2 or 3 goalies in the game at any given time have some sort of "playoff stud" flag, and when one of them retires the attribute is randomly assigned to another goalie. I've scoured hex code and stuff and never found anything conclusive, however there were always hints that something gave certain goalies an edge come playoff time (besides just high Leadership, because sometime seven lower leadership goalies go on runs).philou21 wrote:I think Nino mentionned once that goalies can sometimes over perform in the playoffs for some reasons. I've wondered before if it's in fact true, and if anything similar to it got included in the newer EHM's as a hidden "hot goalie" thing?

Re: Funny/weird/cool screenshots [EHM:EA]
Maybe but IIRC Nino said that with EHM 1 it was more common, like too much. I only played 4 or 5 seasons with the Avs and in each playoffs there was at least 1 or 2 goalie that were hot with .930% and plus and less than 2 goal average.

Maybe the Important Matches attribute has something to do with it.

Most lopsided fight I've seen in EHM.

He's my starter for 5 seasons now and his sv% is roughly on an average +0.08 compared to the regular season.Shindigs wrote:Also has anyone else noticed that Nilsson turns into a golden god in the playoffs? His regular season antics are normally less than impressive, but on the two playoff runs I started him over Cory Schneider he had a 0.95x and 0.93x Save%. Adding that to our silly offense was gamebreaking.

Re: Funny/weird/cool screenshots [EHM:EA]
My biggest issue with him in the regular season (at least in my save) is that he is too inconsistent. I'd rather have a 0.91x goalie that shows up every game than a 0.93x that is hot and cold. Nilsson can string together a pretty good run of games in the regular season but he also loses a lot of games for me on his own. I run Cory Schneider in the reg season for this reason (he sat the entire first season between 0.933 and 0.936 and won the Vezina for it). But come playoff Cory gets to warm the bench.Bam_Margera wrote:He's my starter for 5 seasons now and his sv% is roughly on an average +0.08 compared to the regular season.Shindigs wrote:Also has anyone else noticed that Nilsson turns into a golden god in the playoffs? And in an attempt to at least be slightly on topic again, here's a screenshot of Jujhar Khaira doing what all forwards dream of:

Scoring on his first shot ever in the NHL ain't half bad. Too bad he stayed on that 1 point for the following 9 or so games.
And a nice throwback to my EIHL antics, you know you're dominating a league when the +/- table looks like this:

I'll have a closer look at him from now on. December 2020, an unsigned RFA Patrik Laine (143 CA/ 159 PA) signs a 1y/1m offer sheet and the Coyotes (I guess they were over their player budget) did not match. They didn't even get any compensation!

I've heard of goals from center ice, but this is just embarrassing.

Ribeiro obviously wants to become 1 line center
I've never seen 6 points game by one player in new EHM on NHL level.

It's literally the only font(s) in the EHM folder. You can even install it to windows from there:)A9L3E wrote:How did you find out the game's titlebar font?
Playoff god confirmed, I guess? Goalies are always a mess though, it seems like their performance has near nothing to do with what their CA/PA and shown attributes, or scout reports would have you believe it should be. A few seasons in you know which ones are good based on previous season stats but trying to scout out a good goalies in the first 1-2 seasons is essentially a roll of the dice, you just don't know. Really wish something was done about how goalie scouting works, cause it's pretty darn flawed as it stands. At least in the NHL you know with a reasonable certainty everyone scouted as a 5 star goalie will be good. In Euro league essentially every single goalie that isn't riding the sub 85% save percentage train is counted as 5 star, which is so helpful... I'm almost tempted to add in a 2nd GM controlling an NHL team in my European saves just to have them scout players for me so I get their actual star rating. In European leagues you end up with every single player on your team being 5 star. Because the 5 star requisite CA doesn't scale up as the leagues skill level does, making scout reports quite pointless a few seasons in:/Bam_Margera wrote:Bam_Margera wrote:I'll have a closer look at him from now on. It's not THAT uncommon, but I've never seen it from a 1 G, 5 A split before. It's usually 3+3 when players do get it. I don't recall ever seeing more than that in any game by my team in any league though. I have vague memories of a 4+4 but no screenshot of it, so probably just imagining things.Modano wrote:Ribeiro obviously wants to become 1 line centerI've never seen 6 points game by one player in new EHM on NHL level.

Sometimes winning actually messes up your plans. I modded in my hometown team into Swe-2 and gave them the lowest Rep of any team in the league, 4 seasons in we go on a run and end up getting into the SHL. Now this all sound like a cinderella story until you realize that I'm now in a league with 30-50MKr budget teams, with a 3.2Mkr budget team. And since I forgot to add a chairman (presumably), I only gain about 147k wage budget per year...so that means I'm a cozy 182 seasons off being able to match the lowest wage budget of any current team in the SHL. Woo!

Luleå had 5 players on their payroll with higher individual wage than my entire team combined, talk about being overpaid.

Re: Funny/weird/cool screenshots [EHM:EA]
I recently started a new game with the TBL database (as the Hurricanes). On november 10th I got a bunch of news items about Edmonton Oilers placing players on the trade block and waivers. I read the news and went to see what is up with the Oilers ... and what I found shocked me.
Oilers are leading the league !

But they took a beating yesterday, november 9th. Notice the players Oilers used in the game.

The next morning, Peter Chiarelli decided it was time for a shakeup. Talbot, Nilsson, Pouliot, Korpikoski, Purcell and Gadzic are put on the trade block. Klinkhammer was already on the block, but now he is waived and sent to the minors.

A bunch of guys get sent down to AHL. I've underlined the players who played against Chicago the day before (see how they all have zero games played).

Yeah, and this minor roster move also happened.

Here are the player stats for the Oilers this season. I added notes about where they are now.

I've never seen a CPU GM have such an epic meltdown, and after just one loss. I didn't even think it would be possible.

So humm how can someone have more shot on targets than total shots? I can only think of own goal but his goal had 2 assists and was on the PP.

May I represent you: Rauman Lukko in season 2021-22. This is ridiculous. A joke. Only ONE finnish player in team which plays in Finland. I hate this so much

Yes. Probably we need some tendency towards domestic/non-domestic players implemented somehow, but I can understand it may not be that easy to fine tune.Kiekkomestari wrote:Thank you! Re: Funny/weird/cool screenshots [EHM:EA]
AFAIK foreign players tend to take a bigger paycheck in Finland than Finnish players in real life, which is why the Finns are usually what teams go for. This is not implemented in EHM. In EHM you can get an American / Canadian for the same price as a domestic player, which is why the teams get filled with foreigners, as there are more of them available.Alessandro wrote:Yes.
