Boudreau already has a new job with Minnesota. I don't think anyone should've offered him something.

Why do you think that?

Mostly because he only does good things in the regular season and not in the playoffs! :-D

That's not fair imo. Washington is a better team now and they are they are still on the brink of elimination, hanging by a thread..

This year, he got bounced by the Predators which are also a very solid team.

The ducks are not that deep and their main goal scorer was invisible...

That being said, I'm not a huge a Boudreau fan :)

Look at who he had to work with in ANA. Perry, Getzlaf, and Co just can't win without Teemu, Pronger, and Niedermayer carrying their sorry behinds. No coach is going to fix that.

Anaheim has a pretty good defense coming up though. They're just not mature enough yet. I never liked Boudreau anyway. He never led his teams far in the playoffs and they always choked when it was the most important. When you have a 1-7 record on game #7 it's not only the team's fault. Somewhere you have to motivate your troops too as a head coach.

Wow, what a collapse by the Stars, in game 7 nevertheless...

Now that Fleury is back in the net for the Pens, do you thinks he ends up costing them the series - you know, being the playoff "beast" he is..

Biased- but I don't see why people gave him that rep- he had one bad playoff in 10 years. He's been statistically a top 5 goalie the last season and half (15 shutouts this season and last). The Pens defenses were terrible in his 'bad' years (at one point, he was still leading the league in saves a full round after we had been eliminated). 2nd among active goalies is playoff wins, 3rd in shutouts and just behind Pekka Rinne and Carey Price in save percentage.

Fleury will not cost Pittsburgh. The fact that Kessel-Bonino-Hagelin have been their best players is what will cost them, not the goaltending. Well, that and the fact that their defense is scary, especially if Daley is out any length of time.

That being said, this series is impossible to pick. Two really good teams with leadership that knows what it takes to get there. Even if Tampa is missing their best player and possibly #1 GOALIE (although he may be back for game 5) they are still one hell of a team. Big and Fast. Pitt is fast, but not nearly as big.

Malkin finally showed up for a period, wonder if he will show up for any more?

In the west--San Jose just seems to have it going on. They are scary good, but for some unknown reason, I still feel that St Louis can knock them off. Jones has not had to be exceptional in either of the wins, and well....I just think that pretty soon he will have to be...but will not be able to come up big enough. And Elliott will bounce back and be ridiculous again. So I see this one going 7 even though everyone (all the experts) seem to think this is going to be a San Jose landslide.

Backes is such a beast when he wants to be. And man is Pietrangelo smooth. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Parayko. That kid is a stud.

Despite the good laugh I had in the past with the Sharks and their playoffs runs, I must admit that I'm happy for them to finally get to the finale after so much failure.

This year they are truly amazing. Everyone seems to contribute and Pavelski, I'll say it again, seems to be the true leader this team was missing.

I voted them to win the SC. After Florida fell it's been SJ.

What a game again! Such a relief that the Sharks got their first win. 3-0 would have been really really bad.

And our boy Donskoi with the overtime goal! :joy:

I don't have any time to watch the games but at first sight it certainly looks like a close serie. 2 OT and the 3 games are a 1 goal game.

Well Pittsburgh is out-shooting San Jose in every game. Wouldn't have been surprised if it was 3-0 for them at this stage.

I have heard some less than complimentary things about McCann in the past and his personality. I have seen Andrej Pedan (sort of) make a statement on twitter that backs those things up a bit. I am not shocked by this deal at all, although I think the 2nd round pick added in was too much for Gudbrandson. However, I have not really followed him much since his rookie year (which was horrible) and am not sure where he is now. He looked decent earlier this year when I did see him though.

McCann was not going to be a C in Vancouver. Not with Bo there, and with Sutter Sedin and Granlund for next year. Plus Gaunce looking decent. McCann looked horrible alot of the year....Weak physically. Terrible on faceoffs, great shot. He is going to be a good winger, but not sure top line guy. Maybe decent 2nd liner with a good strong physical centre who can move the puck.

If this deal had been McCann and third for Gudbrandson and 5th, i would say great deal. It was not...so I can only say just okay deal for Vancouver, but it could also end up being Hodgson for Kassian. It is not Neely-Pederson like some CAnucks fans seem to think,

PENGUINS ARE SO darn FAST. San Jose looks like 1978 Colorado Rockies roster in comparison, and they were one of the fastest teams in the league.
