I thought I had it in my hands already...but...oh well...Again it wasn't enough...I hope no one experiences this kind of luck like I had now..
We were better team all the way and lost...Unbeliavable..

Ouch! That's got to hurt! Nice job on taking your team all the way to game 7 of the finals... but yeah, that final loss must really sting!

Yowzers, were you watching in real time? Was it a breakaway.... I think i'd be shouting at my screen if I watched that happen!

The league leading Flames just rolled me 9-0 in our series opener.... ouchie

Flames just won the cup...going 16-1 .... and I was the 1... so I don't feel that bad now! I didn't notice til I played them in the playoffs, but they had picked up Chara at the trade deadline... he put both Doan and York out in that series!

The Flames acquired Chara in my game too. Who did they give up for him in your game? I don't have my game open right now but next time I do, I'll check and see who it was in mine.

1. Rights to 21yr old Kris Chucko (My scouts have him as a Skilled Forward 4th line who may be is close to his potential)
2. 20yr old Dustin Boyd (Scouts have his as a Skilled Forward 3rd Line...also may be close to his potential)
3. 21yr old Adam Cracknell (Scouts have him as Goal Scoting 3rd Line... also may be close to reaching his potential)
right well looks to be a total steal... maybe I should have tossed some rubbish their way too and had him for the playoffs!

Yeah, that was a steal! I just loaded up my game and checked. In mine the Flames gave up Robyn Regehr and the rights to Devin DiDiomete (a 7th round pick of the Flames in '06). They made the deal in February of 07, right around the 1st season trade deadline.

humm 'decent return' wonder what they'd want for him...... course I'd have to sell the 'farm' to afford both him and jovo... but that would make for an interesting blueline
Anyone have a goalie recommendation... not so sure about the two I have

They've been both very inconsistent this year...2 good games... 2 bad... was irritating. Phily has gone with Nittymaki as a franchise now... so they won't budge

The Ottawa Senators having playoff success - Proof that this is just a game

Yes,it was a breakaway, watched in real time..Alfie went all alone vs Leneveu..Had bad luck in that one, somehow he passed Jovo(Adam Oates happens to him also lol)
Before the goal we had 5-on-3 PP and that's the only reason I'm p issed...My team was in control, and I actually thought the cup is ours when Redden went in the box.
And didn't shout at my monitor, just went to a smoke and yelled at myself
Well next time I should know better.

First season is in the books. We lost in the first round to the Flemmes 4-2.
Mike York grabbed some hardware - the Lady Byng and the +/- Award.
I need a new practice regime for next season, because I had a few players have attributes drop. That won't do.
Looking forward to the draft!

NHL Entry Draft 2007
- 1st Round #5 overall - LD Mark Katic - solid physical stats and rated 1-2 potential.
1st Round #16 overall - RD/LD Eric Doyle - more solid physical stats and 1-2 potential. Offensive minded.
2nd Round #46 overall - C Vitaly Karamnov - ridiculous speed and wrist shot. A bit of a gamble, but has first line potential and is compared to Olli Jokinen.
2nd Round #52 overall - LD Nathan Martine - Offensive D-man. 1-2 potential. Compared to Rafalski.
4th Round #110 overall - G Kevin Armstong - the best G left on the board. I wanted one. He is compared to Garon.
5th Round #136 overall - LW/C Sergei Salnikov - another Russian with ridiculous speed and wrister. This guy also has high determination. Compared to Marco Sturm. 2nd line potential.
6th Round #166 overall - C Kevin Baker - Good physical skills and faceoff ability. Is also over age, so he can get into the lineup a bit quicker.
I'm pretty happy with this draft, especially on the back end. I felt this team was really lacking in D and I think I addressed that in one fell swoop by grabbing Katic, Doyle and Martine. All three of those guys should be locks as at least 3-4 guys.

Katic !!

This guy is awesome in my game..Good pick m8
And Doyle..Now u have 2 D-men who can contribute after old guys retire

Eric Doyle is a nice reminder for me... I drafted him #13 overall in the Blackhawks challenge... He never played for me, but i traded his rights to land an injured Evgeni Malkin
However, i'm not so sure that it's a good idea to pick slow skaters... I mean, this Phoenix team is way too slow and way not enough physical, so those areas should be really important when it comes to draft, especially with the NTNB... Just my point of view though...

He's avail to me right now as I sit looking at my first choice...and I can't decide! I need forwards so I'm looking between Colton Gilles and Akim Alu.
Sigh.... can't decide!

Start of Season Two info:
- Ranked 28th in the Season Preview.
- Jovo Ranked 10th best D-man.
- Mueller (5) and Lisin (9) on the Top Prospects List.
I have re-signed everyone but Morris, Boynton and Reinprecht. They are all haggling on $$$. If I lose any of them, it will be bad bad bad.

What are they looking for? I have to resign them soon as well... not sure if I am going to keep Boynton... depends on his asking price... have 3 days til July 1st...then I'll find out

IIRC, this was a guy I wanted but waited too long on and somebody grabbed him. I'll be curious to see how he does for you. He looked very interesting!

I drafted this guy in another game. I had him on my farm team for a couple years but he hadn't developed enough to make the jump. I don't know how he turns out beyond that though. I stopped playing that game because this challenge started.

I've made my first trade, and am pretty happy with it!
to Washington: rights to Jordan Bendfeld. He is a defensive defenseman with low speed, low anticipation, low workrate, and low defensive stats... Projected to be a n°7 defenseman at best. Clearly not the kind of players i wanted to devellop.
to Phoenix: Matt Bradley and Matt Pettinger!
I initially inquired about Matt Bradley, who was put on the block, and they came back asking for Bendfeld. When i saw they rated him 4*, i couldn't help landing something else... Pettinger was rated only 2*, so they were pretty happy with the deal... and so am i

Ok so season 2 has just turned into a disaster.
Long term injuries to: Derek Morris (3 months), Shane Doan (7 months) and Mike Zigomanis (4 months)
Short Term injuries to : Ed Jovonovski & Alex Auld, as well as few other listed as a couple of days.
The injury screen shot at the end of the season is going to be long.
Needless to say we're fighting to stay out of the basement.

Yikes! That's some horrible luck! I guess you've got a nice draft pick to look forward to?
Have you looked at your practice regimes? Maybe your guys are getting injured because they're being worked too hard? Also, do you check your players after games? As soon as every game ends, I go to the practice screen, before clicking continue or anything else. I look at every player under 95% condition. If you click on them, sometimes you'll see "Potential Knee Injury" or something like that. If they have something like that, I take them off practice and put them on "rest". Also, if anyone has "needs rest", I will rest them for a day or two and maybe switch them to "general" practice (all medium) instead of a specialized regimen that has intense training. If a player is "exhausted", I'll put them on "rest" (no training) for a week, then put them on "general" practice. If it returns, I might use the extra training slot and make it one with all light training. Using all of these methods, I don't have too many big injuries, usually just a 10 day or 2 week injury here and there.
